New Obama ad: Few presidents have faced so many challenges

posted at 5:31 pm on October 13, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

The Obama campaign released a new ad this morning in which we’re treated to an epical presentation of President Obama’s hard-fought achievements — because nothing says “historic” like a classic Morgan Freeman narration.

Every president inherits challenges. Few have faced so many. Four years later, our enemies have been brought to justice. Our heroes are coming home. Assembly lines are humming again. There are still challenges to meet, children to educate, a middle class to rebuild — but the last thing we should do is turn back now.

So… other presidents have faced 9/11, the Cold War, WWII, the Great Depression, WWI, the various other recessions of the 20th century, and etcetera… but we’re to understand that few presidents have faced challenges on par with those “inherited” by The One. Huh. That doesn’t reek of hubris at all.

There’s no question that every era, every generation, every president has their own uniquely difficult challenges — challenges are ever-present, and yes, some may be more consequential than others, but the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries alone have seen plenty of do-or-die moments. The real question is how presidents meet and respond to those challenges. Sure, I’ll grant that President Obama “inherited” a financial crisis, an economic recession, and the War on Terror — but our economy has seen little-to-nothing more than stagnation for almost four years now, and as evidenced by the recent attacks in Benghazi, we still have plenty of enemies on that front. President Obama’s policies have failed to address his challenges. That is all.

Why on earth would you grant such a thing?

Sen Obama was part of the congressional majority that caused the current Depression, and he has doubled down on the policies his Congressional majority supported when they caused our economic downfall.

That doesn’t reek of hubris at all.

No, it reeks of incompetence. He has failed on all of those challenges. The recession? Only by manipulating the numbers can he show any progress. Our troops coming home? So did Germany’s after WWI and WWII, or ours following Vietnam. Assembly lines humming again? The only humming is the happiness of the Unions over having been granted preference to bond holders while the former bondholders sit with their money on the sidelines unwilling to risk it in investments that Jugears may once again suborn contract law to his whim.

Yeah, great successes. Four more years! /s

Please, the recession was over in 2009, why aren’t we booming along now? Not because Obama was up to the job he begged to get.

So many challenges… like how to run so very many repetitions of the same ‘green energy’ money laundering grifter scam, where mega donors to Obama ’08 get repaid 10,000-fold out of OUR pockets, they break ground, build a huge factory, all the execs get the finest of everything for over a year, and then the whole workforce is furloughed on the ‘suddenly’ discovered fact that their product is economically unviable. Pffft goes the company, bankruptcy is filed, all the thieves and our money disappear. It’s like the scams in The Sting, over and over, the same pattern. Leaving the mega-donors and their cronies with their wallets full to donate even more to Obama ’12.

Or the challenges of giving so many Doublespeak speeches where he says words we all have different meanings for, hearing what some of us wanted to hear, when he’s really saying ‘Death to Capitalism’.

Or the challenges of his lying over and over about ‘you get to keep your health plan’ when years ago he’s recorded saying he wants “single payer” nationalized health care, and thus the destruction of every aspect of the system.

Or the challenges of hiding all his personal history and records.

Or the challenges of flat out promising to bankrupt the coal industry, while lying to those typically union-democrat miners for several years.

Or the challenges of repeatedly advocating socialist redistribution and class warfare, while describing it in rhetoric that promises support to the same businesspeople he’s villifying.

Or the challenges of flogging the massive transportation machinery of the Air Force One network around the country 3-4-5 days a week, while holding 1-2 sham ‘national bidness’ events as a fig leaf for teh 8-9-10 partisan campaign and fundraisers stops along the way.

Or the challenges of lying to idiot college kids every day, promising them everything for free and that they’re all rock stars. While utterly neglecting the high tech, skilled tradesman jobs that go wanting, for lack of qualified applicants.

Or the challenges of his entire retinue being full of marxist c-words, all looking to get theirs, all while telling his what to do.

Or the challenges of repeatedly foisting ruinous social-engineering policies upon teh American people, crafted by marxist-academics who get to flit back to their ivy tower sinecures when their programs blow up.

Meh. Challenges. The real challenge is how are we going to destroy these people and set out nation back to rights?

I would argue that his actions this past four years has made things worse. To name a few:
– Spent the first two years jamming Obamacare down our collective throats. Instead of focusing on getting America back to work, he pushed to get a massive new entitlement program through Congress with so many pages of regulations and rules that businesses are refusing to invest and hire people because of the unknown costs associated with that debacle.
– Running up the nation’s debt to $16T, again causing uncertainty
– Massive over-reach in regulations through unelected bureaucrats at the EPA. This has served to reduce electric supply by shutting down coal fired plants, increased gas prices by lowering prices, damaged the coal industry, etc.
– Suborned established contract law by forcing GM preferred bondholders to take pennies on the dollar while illegally giving preference and ownership to the unions. This again has pushed investors to the sidelines since they have no certainty that contracts will be honored

There is more, but that’s a good start. He didn’t come into office with bad conditions, he exacerbated those conditions while in office.

Just imagine what President Romney is going to “inherit”.

No kidding.

I’ll say this–if anyone is able to begin fixing it, I can’t think of a better bet than R & R.

Every president inherits challenges. Few have faced so many. Four years later, our enemies have been brought to justice. Our heroes are coming home. Assembly lines are humming again. There are still challenges to meet, children to educate, a middle class to rebuild — but the last thing we should do is turn back now.

Oh boo frickin hoo! Did he not notice how presidents seem to really age while in office? He seems to think that the job requirement is to attend dinner parties, sporting events and campaigning for the next term.

He’s got the whole world on his shoulders and he really tries, but it’s all so hard. Why just a few weeks ago, while our embassies were being attacked, he tried to pretend that an obscure movie was the cause of all that unrest. And then he tried so hard to avoid meeting with leaders from around the world, especially a certain leader of Israel, so that he could face the difficult challenge of going on The View. Then there’s the challenge of golf, which he must work on all the time.

Liberals were all over the place blaming Bush for 9/11, even though he hadn’t been in office an entire year. Yet, somehow, 4 years later, Obama isn’t responsible for anything bad that has happened, because he’s tried so hard to fix things you see.

As for our enemies being brought to justice, some have been. However, that doesn’t mean the threat is over. Just look at all that happened in September and it’s clear that the threat isn’t over. It’s like he thinks that killing Osama was the conclusion of the war. As for that event, does anyone remember how upset the press was when we caught Saddam because Bush had no right to try and execute him. I think that’s one reason the Iraqi people tried him. Obama not only kills Osama, but throws the body overboard, disrespecting Muslim tradition and leaving doubt in some minds that it was really Osama who was killed.

Teaching our children socialist values has gone on long enough, so I really don’t want Obama doing anything to help educate children. And he has no interest in helping the middle class, that just more of his class warfare rhetoric.

Actually, I hope he takes this tack next Tuesday. I’d love to see him whine to Romney because I know what the response will be.
