New Obama ad: Few presidents have faced so many challenges

posted at 5:31 pm on October 13, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

The Obama campaign released a new ad this morning in which we’re treated to an epical presentation of President Obama’s hard-fought achievements — because nothing says “historic” like a classic Morgan Freeman narration.

Every president inherits challenges. Few have faced so many. Four years later, our enemies have been brought to justice. Our heroes are coming home. Assembly lines are humming again. There are still challenges to meet, children to educate, a middle class to rebuild — but the last thing we should do is turn back now.

So… other presidents have faced 9/11, the Cold War, WWII, the Great Depression, WWI, the various other recessions of the 20th century, and etcetera… but we’re to understand that few presidents have faced challenges on par with those “inherited” by The One. Huh. That doesn’t reek of hubris at all.

There’s no question that every era, every generation, every president has their own uniquely difficult challenges — challenges are ever-present, and yes, some may be more consequential than others, but the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries alone have seen plenty of do-or-die moments. The real question is how presidents meet and respond to those challenges. Sure, I’ll grant that President Obama “inherited” a financial crisis, an economic recession, and the War on Terror — but our economy has seen little-to-nothing more than stagnation for almost four years now, and as evidenced by the recent attacks in Benghazi, we still have plenty of enemies on that front. President Obama’s policies have failed to address his challenges. That is all.

certainly that lazy Lincoln puzzy had it sweet- his entire presidency was like a semester in the life of the choom gang in paradise- playing basket ball, listening to aerosmith, doing bong hits… it’s not like he was assassinated in cold blood or anything nasty and heroic like that. barry has done so much more for black people who would still be slaves if he was not elected. in fact blacks will certainly go back into chains or something if they don’t vote democrat.

and don’t forget the puppets- the poor millionaire puppets…

the only explanation for these celebtards drooling continuously over this freak besides their air headed fact devoid revisionist liberalism is their fervent embrace of NPD as a way of life. if they dont try to dredge up more cover for President Sucks-a-Lot, it will make them look like the fools they are. can’t have that. transparent and pathetic .

the only transparent part of this administration and its fawning lackeys is how transparent their collective borg pathology is. malignant narcissism all the way around.

I really want Romney to close the sale Tuesday night. After all the whining, Big Bird, Benghazi and everything else, Mitt should be able to nail BO – just pound him into the ground without ever raising his voice.

Fingers crossed :)

Cody1991 on October 13, 2012 at 6:48 PM

Obama is going to bring up that 47% thing just like the loon Biden did.

I hope that Romney responds:

“Mr. President, we all say some boneheaded things at times. The difference between us is that mine was a mistake…….and hasn’t resulted in a stagnant economy for four years…23 million people unemployed…5 trillion dollars added to the national debt…a nuclear Iran… and a Middle East being systematically taken over by radical Islamists.”

It must be nice for a partisan, like Morgan Freeman, to be able to read a script, that’s loaded with misinformation, and still be able to go out and tell the world Barack Obama just has to be elected. This is a prime example of why the saying is, “Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.” If you don’t know Morgan Freeman is uninformed about this, you might tend to believe him. To believe him is to belittle all the accomplishments of presidents who have faced severe crisis and kept our country together. Hell, once president who wasn’t in the snippet we see is Abraham Lincoln, who went through a civil war with a very divided country. He inherited a country that was already divided, Barack Obama did the division himself, with a lot of help from the Democratic Party.

Every president inherits challenges.

Please remind me, didn’t Obama actively seek the presidency in 2008 with full knowledge that the country was in recession, housing was in free fall, Evil Oil was holding us hostage with gas at $1.89 per gallon (oh wait, skip that one), and our involvement in two pseudo-declared wars? I mean it wasn’t as if we ripped him off the street and to his dismay and horror, forced him to become president. He actively sought the position. Petulant children who want the brass ring but who aren’t willing to reach out for it, bemoan how hard it is to win and whine for others to do the job. If your brass ring is the presidency, cowboy up!

(The latter is not intended to be an endorsement of W’s attitude and demeanor while president)

Robbin Hood on October 14, 2012 at 7:30 AM

They should have the same narration, but show the ad with Obama playing golf, slow-jamming the news, being interviewed by pimp-with-a-limp, and sitting on The View.

That’s how the rest of us see his presidency.

If the entire liberal world has completed abdicated the obama administration’s responsibility for at least 800 billion in failed PV cell Green Companies alone in government crony giveaways, Fast and Furious and the lack of security being provided to Ambassador Stevens in Benghazi after he requested it … why would you care about what happened to a company years after Mitt Romney had no dealings with it?

The challenges of this president. Yes. What to do, what to do.

President: Hmm, uh, the fairway here on seven at Bushwood, uh, seems to fade right a little. What do you think, just use the hybrid? I tend to slice with it anyway.

Caddie: Awesome Sir. You’re a genius and your dedication to golf is really showing.

President: Oh, the phones ringing in my bag. Uh, answer that and if it’s about the SEALs, tell them I’ll call back when I stop for a dog before we start the back nine. No flea collars please, haww haww!

Caddie: Good one, Sir!

It’s not just the president. The entire liberal world lives in a bubble.

“Few have faced so many”?

How about few have faced so many with such disdain and indifference?

Which promises that Mr’ Obama made did he keep? What policies did he put in place that made us safer or more economically secure? What has he done to secure our children and nations future?

For four years Mr. Obama has not produced a budget. Is that one of the significant challenges he faced?

We have a crippling debt problem and entitlements going bankrupt by every independent measure. Yet Mr. Obama has increased that debt by a historic $6 trillion and has no reform plans for entitlements. Is that another challenge?

He touts “his” success in bringing terrorists to justice including UBL. But the policies used to capture and kill those terrorists were formulated by his predecessor.

More challenges ahead? You bet there is and most of them have been created or made worse by Mr. Obama.

1. Should he get off the golf course and go watch Panetta/Hillary and the the seal team 6 take out osamma so he can take credit? Or should he stay for another round of golf? Terrible challenge here!
2.Yet another. Asleep in vegas on another campaign run, should he roll over and get ready for yet another challenging day of fund raising or watch as four brave patriots are slaughtered in real time.Nahhh….just roll over.
there are more but its pretty obvious what a challenging job the Dear Leader has.

rodguy911 on October 14, 2012 at 10:22 AM

I already posted on this but the headline makes me so angry I’m going to rant again. Few presidents have taken an oath to accept the challenges facing the country and made so many promises they couldn’t keep, blown off so many opportunities to work with the other side to find solutions, taken so much time off, hidden from and refused to meet with the press corps and foreign leaders, and spent the last two years of their term campaigning for the next one. That’s why he doesn’t deserve a second term. Things ARE NOT better than they were before, in fact, they’re worse.

What a totally disturbed campaign Obama is running. I mean just incredibly sad and emotionally damaged. When they’re not lashing out with bogus shrieks of “liar,” they’re wallowing in self-pity. Obama is completely incapable of taking responsibility for his own actions. We heard years (and still do) of everything being Bush’s fault. Then they declare a “summer of recovery” and tell us how “they own” the economy at that point, only they refuse to take ownership. It’s the GOP’s fault in the House. It’s China’s fault. It’s the EU’s fault. It’s the fault of the State Dept and our intelligence services. And now, it’s all collapsed in to one humongous pity party for themselves. How degrading.

So what is the Problem to Golf Round ratio?

1:30? 1:20? My guess is somewhere between those two with 100+ golf games in just four years.

Meanwhile W had problems cracking into double digits what with 9/11, the tech bubble implosion, OEF, OIF, Katrina, housing bubble implosion, stock market crash… actually, by the end, he should have played more golf and not concentrated on ‘breaking the system to save it’ so that he wouldn’t have time to do just that. Mind you the system needed a cleaning out, not ‘saving’, and more golf is just the remedy for that: let the rule of law run its course equally.

No one on the Left will ever point this sort of stuff out. They love cronyism and hypocrisy is their life-blood. Of ethics and morals, there are none, and if not for double standards they would lack any, as well.

Bush had to deal with 9/11 and Katrina, respectively the worst attack and the worst natural disaster in our history. (Both of these, surprisingly, had some effect on the economy).

But, in fairness, Obama has had to deal with a much greater, probably insurmountable obstacle: his own incompetence.
