The Obama administration defined “religious organization” in its narrow exemption to the HHS mandate as places of worship — i.e., the churches themselves

So under Emperor Obama, Catholics can be as Catholic as they want, but only at church, which for most would be no more than one hour a week. Muslims, on the other hand, under Emperor Obama, can be Muslim 24X7.

Oh, this was in the second hour, after he crashed from his drug-induced and/or mental illness-based high he had the first hour. I like this Joe Biden more. Unfortunately for him, the more sober he acts, the more likely people are to take what he says seriously. The Catholic Bishops were listening.

Too many Catholics think because they attend Mass and receive the Blessed Eucharist, they are good to go. They have no idea of the true teachings and beauty of their faith, they believe much like a child believes in Santa Claus.

One is not Catholic because one receives communion, one receives communion because one is Catholic.

I think he almost certainly doesn’t know. I think when he says “but I mean everything I say” he really does. The earnestness with which he says these things could, in theory, be faked, and I imagine at some point much earlier in his career, he’d have had to fake it, but I think it’s more likely that by now, he resides in a “post-truth” world, where a statement’s validity is entirely a function of how useful it is in the context of the current discussion.

As one of the pioneers of this paradigm once helpfully explained:

It’s not a lie if you believe it.

How else do you say these things with a straight face?:

We weren’t told they wanted more security.

And, by the way, they talk about this Great Recession as if it fell out of the sky, like, “Oh, my goodness, where did it come from?” It came from this man voting to put two wars on a credit card, to at the same time put a prescription drug benefit on the credit card, a trillion-dollar tax cut for the very wealthy. I was there. I voted against them. I said, no, we can’t afford that.

When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed.

And my personal favorite:
