New Project Veritas vids: Say, Obama staffer, is it okay if I vote twice?

posted at 8:41 pm on October 10, 2012 by Allahpundit

Brand new from James O’Keefe and PV, the logical follow-up to his expose of how easy it is to request someone else’s ballot: Why not just request your own, but in different states? And why not casually mention your intentions to your friendly neighborhood OFA canvasser and see if they try to talk you out of it?

You may have seen the first clip already at the Daily Caller this morning, but the second one didn’t hit YouTube until later this afternoon, I think.

Because Republicans have values and respect the rule of law, while liberals figure whatever makes people happy, as long as everyone feels good, then the ends justify the means, and damn the rule of law. What’s the point of obeying laws if you’re not happy?

aunursa on October 10, 2012 at 8:43 PM

Go for it.

My guess would be no, both on moral grounds-with my impression being that Republicans tend to be more law abiding, but also because conservatives probably have more to lose if they break the law. Hey, if you’re a member of OWS, a jail sentence with 4 hots and a cot might be a step up.

I am certain that there are republicans out there that would go along with that stuff, but the question is more about whether this is one lone idiot or is it repeatable a huge percentage of the time. Democrats will almost always do it, and that’s the big problem for them.

There’s quite a few edits in those videos, which always makes me uncomfortable — what was said during those edits? O’Keefe has gotten in trouble before for cutting and rearranging the order of questions and answers in his vids.

AngusMc on October 10, 2012 at 9:02 PM

this is ok but it isn’t systematic. Its a couple kids on the street saying “cool bro, fight the power.” However I do think Florida’s lax policies is a problem. 1. Swing state 2. Tons of people could easily do it without much trouble.

Look, here’s the deal,
if you feel warm and cozy in a party that
supported a president getting BJs in the oval office and after he lied under oath and to the American people about it.
That also supports on demand abortion paid for by confiscated money and supports any welfare program with stolen tax money. then you probably don’t really care if you and your mates vote twice.

I’m sure there’s Republicans out there who’d condone this.

Probably not directly in the Romney campaign.

And they all on both sides, ought to be canned and/or jailed as appropriate.

Go find out, and we’ll lambast that, too.

See the difference here is consistency (conservatives) vs. hypocrisy (liberals).

Law-breaking bothers conservatives no matter who does it – for liberals? Depends on what’s in it for them.

Vote early. Vote often. And remember, it’s not VOTER FRAUD unless you get caught.

GarandFan on October 10, 2012 at 10:27 PM

I think these videos show that voter fraud, as in voting in each of two or more states, is possible. I do not think these videos can be used as an indictment of Dems or libs.

Lawless?

I know Republicans who would do just about anything to change the present trajectory of the nation.

After all, how about a CIC and his folks who lied about men who died for him and had created the lies to make himself and their killers look better by creating an insult that the rapists and murderers suffered as justification.

IlikedAUH2O on October 11, 2012 at 12:47 AM

This sounds really scary when it’s presented in theory. But let’s look at it from a risk and reward standpoint: the rewards are pitifully low for the individual. What are the odds that they’ll affect the election result? None. But the risk is huge: 5 years in federal prison!

So yeah, it’s a loophole. But that doesn’t mean that it’s being exploited.

Mark Jaquith on October 11, 2012 at 2:12 AM

Maybe Obama might win after all. By like a million votes. Sort of like Chavez.

JellyToast on October 11, 2012 at 6:45 AM

Yes, and this is evidence that democratics know that Republicans don’t do this kind of crap. Only one side cheats at the scale that democratics do, and only the democratics are opposed to voting reform to make the system more honest.
