Real talk: Sununu calls President Obama “lazy” and “detached”

posted at 6:41 pm on October 4, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

Andrea Mitchell’s amazed reaction, after Sununu confirms that, why yes, he did indeed intend to call the president of the United States “lazy,” without skipping a beat… is kind of priceless.

JOHN SUNUNU: What people saw last night was a president that revealed his incompetence, how lazy and detached he is, and how he has absolutely no idea how serious the economic problems of the country are, and how he has failed to even begin to address them. And I think even the liberal press reacted with shock at this revelation, and I find it fascinating, now this morning, after they’ve slept, to watch them all scrambling around to clean up the mess the president left on the floor last night. On the other hand, Mitt Romney came in with a lot of specifics, a lot of very sharp knowledge of issues, not only with the Obama-version of bumper-sticker numbers, but the governor showed that he understand policies and he understand how to make policy into law talking about what he did in Massachusetts.

ANDREA MITCHELL: Governor, I want to give you a chance to maybe take it back. Did you really mean to call Barack Obama, the president of the United States, lazy?

JOHN SUNUNU: Yes. I think you saw him admit it… he said, you know, ‘they’re making me do this work.’ He didn’t want to prepare for this debate. He’s lazy and disengaged.

John Sununu: The man, the myth, the legend. It has been quite a treat to watch Obama’s various minions in both his campaign and the media try to find ways to provide some cover for Obama’s epic failure, which has included the notion that the president didn’t devote enough time to practice and preparation — but judging from Andrea Mitchell’s face, accusing the president of being lazy is just beyond the pale. Of course, the wagon-circling spin is only going to continue, as Rob Long points out at Ricochet:

That’s what the next few days will be: Obama’s too smart, he’s too cerebral, he’s too thoughtful, he’s too professorial.

Anything but the truth: he’s a rotten candidate and a lousy president and he’s got precisely zero to run on.

The words he didn’t say “spoke the loudest?”  He said plenty.  And America heard it.  And it can all be boiled down to this:  I’m out of gas.

Kataklysmic on October 4, 2012 at 6:48 PM

He’s said it before, and I’m glad he said it again. It’s a fact. Barry has outsourced the heavy lifting to flunkies and sycophants since his star began rising.

He was a lazy, drunk pothead/cokehead in high school and college. How the hell did he get into an Ivy League school, let alone Occidental, by being such a slacker? Hmmmm…the transcripts and applications would tell the tale.

Philly on October 4, 2012 at 6:48 PM

He said plenty. And America heard it. And it can all be boiled down to this: I’m out of gas.

The rude truth is, he’s full of gas. And he always has been. The Obama we saw last night is the same man who ran four years ago. And sat in the Senate before that. And sat in the IL legislature before that. They are no different.

It was like the 2008 Obama went to a Halloween party dressed up (by Axlerod) as a presidential candidate and people didn’t realize that it was a costume. The man has never changed. He didn’t become lazy and narcissistic yesterday afternoon.

Inconvenient Truth for the BHO crowd. The man’s not that smart. When he isn’t fighting the straw men he sets up.

Second Inconvenient Truth for the BHO crowd. The straw man is him.

This is what I have been thinking for quite some time, BHO has never done any heavy lifting in his life.

High school seemed to be about basketball and getting high. Occidental college was about getting stoned and being cool. Columbia and Harvard remain a mystery as Obama hasn’t let any information out, and no one seems to remember him from any of his classes that he took. I’m 58 years old and I can still remember outstanding classmates from my undergrad days, in a class of 2,000+ students. Harvard Law school is remarkable in that even though he was the head of the law review, Obama did not publish legal articles like all other holders of the office.

Obama’s post academic career also showed no heavy lifting, a non-descript corporate world job and community organizer. Teaching at a Chicago law school but again, no legal scholarly publications. Chicago and Illinois politician mostly noted for his 130 something present votes. U.S. Senator for two years, also with little to show for it.

Four years as president with more golf, basketball and vacation time than meeting with Capitol Hill leaders and international leaders. Typical days that start at 9 a.m. and end early.

And lastly, his clear disdain for prepping for the debate(s).

Why should anyone be surprisesd?

he’s never ever had to prove himself to obtain any position. and the left wonders how any one can dare recognize that because of their shinning him on, barry is, indeed, lazy and disengaged. as are his adoring constituants who just want a free cellphone and a marginal existence on government benefit wherein they do not have to do a thing. just be -as a condition of receiving this really pathetic set of hand outs- lazy and disengaged. only concerned with what they can get for free with no effort for themselves. barry’s the same- does anyone think he feels the need to make any effort when legions of dupes and dopes will vote for him no matter what? and the media will lick him 3 ways to sunday no matter what? they do not want freedom or education or to be protected from tyranny and harm- their loyalty is bought with a cheap cell phone and the assurance that they are hapless victims of someone else’s greed not their own indifference and personal failings.

barry. doesn’t. care. he never did. just STFU and elect him without question and he will continue to be lazy and disengaged. after all barry got to be president by not giving a puck and not having to prove any ability to do the job whatsoever- why shouldn’t everyone else expect exactly the same by replicating his parasitic existence?

personally, i want a president who is engaged and gives a puck. like all those with NPD, barry’s only real connection and engagement is with Himself.

Why Romney won last night

Schadenfreude on October 4, 2012 at 7:26 PM

here’s where the left is…the question, will barry get Angry and Rage against the Machine

At the Huffington Post, an article declares, “It’s Time For Obama To Become The ‘Angry Black Man”. At the Daily Beast, white liberal Susannah Breslin writes of her frustration at Obama’s failure to channel her anger. “I wonder silently what happened to the hope-inspiring orator I stood in a line the length of several city blocks to vote for four years ago, a president so passive on tonight’s stage it seems he’ll do anything to avoid having voters dismiss him as an angry black man.”

But why not accept Obama as a politician engaging in a strategic debate with another politician instead of acting as the collective liberal Id? Is Obama’s career really supposed to come down to acting out the angry fantasies of white liberals and how do they imagine Obama feels about the calls to be more of, what white liberals, think a black man should be?

After a tough week enduring the media (including Fox) pounding we Republicans for Romney’ slide in the polls, today was a wonderful day to bask in the warm glow of the back-house ass whipping Gov. Romney gave the boy-king in Denver.

Bring on Sloe-Joe and Ryan!

Do you really live in Key West?

Man if so, it’s on my bucket list.

Did Orange Beach and Myrtle again this year, but God…I need to get outta Michigan.

I have spent many months in Key West. I don’t live there; the economy is strictly tourist related and that’s not what I do. Key ?West Reader is a book. It’s a collection of writings from writers who live there. Ernest Hemmingway is one of my faves. I live in the Central Florida area but often take the ‘shuttle’ out of Ft. Myers to KW, spend a night or two and shuttle back. Quite the trip.
