DNC ad: Man, Mitt Romney was like a mean, aggressive bulldozer, wasn’t he?

posted at 1:21 pm on October 4, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

Just in case we needed another indicator of how thoroughly Mitt Romney trounced President Obama during the first presidential debate last night, the following is among the first post-debate videos put out by the Republican National Committee.

Daaang. Romney was not messing around. This next one, meanwhile, is one of the first post-debate videos posted by their counterparts at the Democratic National Convention.

Wow, guys — is that the best thing you could put together? That’s kind of… pathetic. I mean, it’s fitting, granted that Obama’s weaksauce, populist rhetoric sounded so feeble and petty when it finally met Mitt Romney’s free-market, pro-growth message face-to-face, but immediately going after the other candidate for his debating style — rather than the content of what he said — tells us pretty much everything we need to know about who won the debate and why.

Also, somebody sure as heck needed to call out Jim Lehrer. He did a pretty poor job keeping the debate in line, and helped Obama along more than once. Even with all the ‘rambling’ and ‘interrupting’ the DNC points to Romney having done with this ad, Obama still had more overall speaking time than Mitt Romney did. How much less would Romney have been afforded if he hadn’t jumped in?

Late in the debate, about 5 minutes before the end, Lehrer told Obama that his time was up, and Obama insisted on making one more point, then rambled on for 3 minutes.

In many instances, Obama kept talking after Lehrer had told him his time was up, and Romney (rightly) had to jump in to ask Lehrer for time to rebut Obama’s arguments. Some of these instances show up in the DNC ad, but those who watched the debate would realize that Romney was only asking for equal rebuttal time.

During the debate, Romney rarely (if ever) ran overtime, showing his ability to get his points across concisely.

Obama hasn’t had a debate in the last four years, and is very rusty at them, while Romney has been in 22 debates in the last year (against Republicans), and his practice has paid off.

BTW, if Romney can man-handle Obama this way, what will happen to Gaffetastic Slow-Joe Biden when he meets Paul Ryan, who is a stronger debater than Romney? I can just imagine diehard liberals cringing in their couches!!!

No one gives a crap about crowds at events. Events, by definition, are nothing but supporters and a few hecklers.

58 million (will probably be revised up to 65 million) saw Romney destroy Obama in the debate, and many more read about how the biased liberal media swallowed their pride and declared Romney the winner.

And you think peoples ears and eyes will be deceived by a few stupid events and photo ops?

Please, just stop embarassing yourself. Go talk about the Gallup “poll” showing Obama at 54% approval rating, based on absolutely nothing.

I know that presidential candidates don’t usually have a cabinet totally picked out before the election, and some might consider it a bit arrogant if they did. *cough* However, I think it would be an absolute hoot of a debate if you could put all the top folks in the current administration on the stage, and some of the top contenders for the wanna-be’s team on stage with them.

Wouldn’t a team of Boulton, Gingrich, West, etc. be absolutely great, tearing into Obama’s team? (I’d put Palin on the stage just to watch Biden try to hit on her.) I’m betting you could make it a pay-per-view like a WWF match and totally fund the Presidential Election Campaign Fund for the next 2 decades.

Sorry Hot Gassers, I have to take this opportunity to gloat, not only to the left but you righties, many who have been crucifying Romney for months, if not years.

I have been a steadfast Mitt Romney supporter since 2008 – no flirtations with Palin, Gingrich, Trump, Santorum or ANYONE. I endured constant insults for this support but alas, I am glad to see many of you jumping on the Romney bandwagon. I have to ask myself, is this just an Anti-Obama “thingy” or a real appreciation of the man. Successful businessman, gifted turn-around artist and stellar family man (on top of being a truly giving, selfless and charitable man) I fear, it will only take the slightest rub for Romney attacks from his own side to begin again at the most unimportant misstep – I hope not.

This man has led a highly successful life. Granted, he is not the best politician but when it comes to the fight, this is his last go-around and he will not lay down for anyone. Silly me, I prefer an executive running my country over a silver-tongued politico.

The point of this reference was that Obama was a DAY LATE in responding to Romney, who performed when it COUNTED, just as George Costanza’s “antagonist” on Seinfeld.

Costanza had gobbled down some shrimp, and someone in his office said, “Hey George, the ocean called, they’re running out of shrimp.” It made George really mad, so he thought all night and came up with a lame comeback that didn’t even make sense (the jerk store called and they ran out of YOU) and that’s what Obama did today, claiming that the Romney who DESTROYED him last night was not the REAL ROMNEY.

In other words, Weigel was mocking Obama for taking an additional 12 hours to come up with a lame comeback against Romney.

“Jerk store.”
