A two-track strategy for Team Mitt this morning as the countdown to the first presidential debate begins. One: Send Paul Ryan over to “Fox News Sunday” to speak directly to conservatives, as part of his new mission to reassure the right that the campaign is where it needs to be at the moment. Two: Send Chris Christie over to ABC, NBC, and CBS to make the pitch to moderates, especially blue-collar moderates in the wake of Romney’s “47 percent” remarks.
Meanwhile, appearing for the Democrats, it’ll be Plouffe and Axelrod. As usual. The line-up via WaPo:
NBC’s Meet the Press: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie; White House senior adviser David Plouffe; Ralph Reed, Faith and Freedom Coalition; former Gov. Ed Rendell (D-PA); Katty Kay, BBC; Chuck Todd, NBC

Marsha Blackburn (R-TN); Larry Sabato, University of Virginia; Robert Shrum, Republican strategist; Bob Woodward, Washington Post; Mark Zandi, Moody Analytics; Michelle Rhee, former DC Chancellor of Schools; Hedrick Smith, journalist
