Ryan: “This is not what a real recovery looks like”

posted at 8:22 pm on September 27, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan was on Cavuto this afternoon, just doing one of the things he does best — hammering the Obama administration on their failed economic policies and touting his and Mitt Romney’s pro-growth plan.

Good stuff, but nothing out of the ordinary for him — so here’s some fun new evidence about just how much this Obama “recovery,” most definitely isn’t. From Jeffrey Anderson at the Weekly Standard:

New figures from the Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey, compiled by Sentier Research, show that the typical American household’s real (inflation-adjusted) income has actually dropped5.7 percent during the Obama “recovery.”  Using constant 2012 dollars (to adjust for inflation), the median annual income of American households was $53,718 as of June 2009, the last month of the recession.  Now, after 38 months of this “recovery,” it has fallen to $50,678 — a drop of $3,040 per household. …

Amazingly, incomes have dropped even more during the “recovery” than they did during the recession.  In fact, they’ve dropped more than twice as much as they did during the recession.  From the start to the end of the recession, the real median income of American households fell $1,413, or 2.6 percent.  From the end of the recession to the present day, it has dropped $3,040, or 5.7 percent.  This begs the question:  What kind of “recovery” compares unfavorably with the recession from which it’s ostensibly recovering?

What’s more, as Anderson points out, 59.4 percent of Americans were employed in the final days of the official recession. Just last month, that number was only 58.3 percent. So, in a nutshell, since the end of the recession, Americans’ real annual household income and the number of employed Americans have both declined.

Man, this is some “recovery” we’re having. Forward!

Hey Ryan!

This is not what a real campaign looks like!

It takes a special kind of turd to be significantly behind with this kind of an economy. And Mitt Romney certainly qualifies as a turd of a candidate.

I read on a fire extinguisher in Singapore recently “…Obama blows goats”…maybe he is taking over Jason Mays’ legacy…just sayin…

http://pjmedia.com/spengler/2012/09/27/an-economic-primer-why-americans-wont-invest-in-themselves/?singlepage=true

Mitt Romney needs to persuade Americans that he can bring us together, to give us the confidence to take risks on ourselves and our neighbors. Obama appeals to resentment against the 1%. But the solution lies not with the 1%, but with the 99%, who have to trust each other. The politics of resentment spread fear and distrust and cause economic paralysis. Barack Obama has turned us into our own worst enemies.

Romney might also tell the government-union base of the Democratic Party that their pensions and retirement health care will go down the drain as long as economic growth languishes around 1.5%, because there won’t be enough income to pay for them.

see, leftist are always talking about pooling money and structurally changing this country so that the apparatchik can fashion a new day, with a new direction and new industries and this and that

all founded upon unicorn dust.

The danger right now is that the Romney advisors over-think this.

Due to Obama’s assault on Mitt’s economic plans, most Americans don’t even know Romney’s proposals for a real recovery. Most people believe ROMNEY intends to increase income taxes on the middle class. Outright lies.

Stu Stevens – that a—ole in Boston – compounded the error with the pabulum convention, at which they played personality, not issues. Stupid.

matthew8787 on September 27, 2012 at 8:49 PM

That’s OBAMANOMICS in a nutshell.

FORWARD?

How about “BEND OVER, and lean FORWARD, this won’t hurt a bit!”

Socialism is a philosophy of Failure, the creed of Ignorance, and the gospel of Envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of Misery. -Winston Churchill.

We are experiencing the abject Failure…

Don’t we all understand the Ignorance…

And the Envy…

Aren’t we all getting our fair share of the Misery?

The chant that will never be uttered by Tea Parties and conservatives.

Thank goodness.

This is not what a real recovery looks like…

…Unless it’s 1932

Oops, that wasn’t much of a recovery either. 1932 to 2012, progressives never seem to change–still economically illiterate and morally bankrupt after all these years.

True recovery will occur, if and only if, a sufficient number of the American voting public have recovered from their historic, first, black president stupor.

Paul better be glad it was too late to get your name off the ballot in the House race.

Ship of Fools

My head is going to explode. Mitt does have a spine. He does have talent. He will probably even veer to the center. But his feet are in concrete.

I have been dating a beautiful school teacher. In addition I speak to a number of other left, centrist or moderate voters.

They tar Mitt Romney with the George Bush/Financial Collapse/Stupid War brush. They don’t care about the details.

They feel safe with our dear POTUS.

I just watched Hannity and several times his guest from the Obama Campaign tied economic unraveling to the GOP.

Well, did loose mortgages have anything to do with it or was it just free enterprise?

The Economic Patriots may be the winning shock troops.

I have messed that poor woman up so bad she has gone from donating and working for the Obama campaign to having to avoid lefty teachers when a discussion starts.

BTW, in addition to the obvious stuff, the NEA is hitting the female issues really hard and getting out the vote. They are not motivated.

However, after she asked them to research whether Bush was responsible for the meltdown and where all this debt is taking us, over half of the teachers she challenged started worrying about Obama’s deficits and plans to spend, spend spend.

Oh, you’ve got my take-away quote with the current data, and the link I use for sourcing it…

Um, guess my work is already done. Do I try to cover Median income, covered… well ok then.

You ever spend a year singing the same tune, then show up to sing and someone else has learned your song? Heck, that was the goal when I started (and a few people did catch the chorus)… but now I feel sort of depressed.

Weird.

Time to research real inflation and GDP growth I guess… I’m pretty sure there’s a sequel there somewhere.

Liberals, just like journalists(ah, but I repeat myself), have an intense dislike of being mocked for a stupid position! Until you start humiliating them & questioning their intelligence, even more so if you laugh at them, for holding such ignorant positions, they keep right on repeating the same inanities! The Indi’s follow along until they see a lib thoroughly pawned & laughed at, then they start to inform themselves or only repeat lib talking points, amongst libs, just to fit in. These pseudo-intellectuals with a high opinion of themselves have tried me & within seconds have nothing but childish attacks & are quickly looking for the exit! There’s no reason to accept these ridiculous premises from libs/Enemy media! Fight back & fight dirty! Use their hate and emotional responses against them! Newt is the perfect example! Here’s an easy concept for taking on the Enemy media, that can easily be adapted to the MoonBats & Trolls!: http://paratisiusa.blogspot.com/2012/09/an-open-letter-to-those-who-should-know.html?spref=tw

I’ll be honest, this is so far beyond jobs right now I don’t even want to hear something about the economy. Talk to me about liberty. Establish liberty and we’ll all have jobs. Jobs do not equal freedom, though. Every prison in America gives jobs to the inmates.
