Obamateurism of the Day
posted at 8:01 am on September 24, 2012 by Ed Morrissey
Sometimes, it’s hard to tell whether a politician wants to lie to you or to himself. As in this example from Barack Obama, it really doesn’t matter — especially in the YouTube era (via Instapundit):
Maybe memories are unpatriotic.

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at obamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

Question: Not comment? Listen to that moron in order to know what to comment? I caved and listened, and thank heavens, it was only 29 seconds long.
Yes, memories are racist.

Obama has more contradictory video out there than any politician in history. You can find him taking all sides of all issue if you have the stomach to sit through endless interviews, stump speeches and other events. His likability is eroding as people become aware of just how many whoppers he’s told and even the MSM can’t protect him from himself indefinitely. Trouble is, they only have to keep it up for another 6 weeks and then it won’t matter.

Everyone keeps forgetting Obama is a classic Chicago Democrat Machine Politician. Lying through their teeth is not just a habit, they literally have it down to a science.
pilamaye on September 24, 2012 at 8:13 AM
Anyone remember when the Windbag-in-Chief said he wanted people to “shut up and get out of the way” while he cleans up Bush’ mess? He didn’t mind cleaning it up, he said, he just “didn’t want us talkin’..”
How does THAT fit with his spin above?
Grace_is_sufficient on September 24, 2012 at 8:14 AM
Obama must really truly believe most Americans are incredibly stupid.
How many number one priorities has Obama announced over the years?
How many sharp pivots?
How many issues got his laser-like focus?
How many special interest groups has he promised to keep as his major focus and effort?
And how many were actually addressed by this president…other than talk about them? Pander to whatever audience happened to be in front of him at the time?
It was said a long long time ago…and still true today. Obama is making it up as he goes along…it is all prevarication.
There is simply no there there.
Condescending prevaricating putz.
Obama is going to be here on Wednesday morning…over on campus.
More of the same expected…and the crowd will collectively drool, swoon and ooooh and aaahhh…unless there are more than a few who have actually been paying attention.

Lying. It’s what he does.
JimK on September 24, 2012 at 8:23 AM
There’s really nothing more to be said about Obama that hasn’t already been considered and spoken. I’m sick to bloody death of everything about him–his image; his words; the timbre of his voice.

Right Barry. You didn’t call those of us who live here in Arizona “unpatriotic.” You just called us un-American, compared us to Nazi brown-shirts, and then sued us (for the offense of trying to actually enforce those very same U.S. immigration laws that you, Barry Hussein, took an oath to enforce.)
Liar. Fraud. Scum.
AZCoyote on September 24, 2012 at 8:30 AM
It’s as if the rat-eared bastard doesn’t think the public is smart enough to remember what he said from one venue to the next. And it doesn’t help that the MSM is a co-conspirator. The WaPo never even commented on the rat-eared bastard’s Univision comment that you can’t change DC from the inside.

Let’s not forget that in 2010 anybody who was not voting for Dems were “the enemy.”

There are two photos of Obama that I keep in mind, and they define him to me in full:
The one with his nose in the air.
The other one with him scowling.
That’s Obama.
Liam on September 24, 2012 at 8:33 AM
He goes Barack and forth a lot, huh?
But Romney’s the flip-flopper.

Either your memory is faulty in addition to being racist, or you are completely taking what he said out of context, or something. /sarc

Happy Nomad on September 24, 2012 at 8:43 AM
My interpretation is that while some words are spelled the same, if you change some of the letters out for other letters, it totally changes the entire word, and then it means something else. I take it your larger point was that even though Obama talks, it doesn’t mean the same thing it meant the last time he said it and if the American people aren’t bright enough to tell the difference we have only ourselves to blame. Am I close?
Night Owl on September 24, 2012 at 8:44 AM
But there are still people who are going to vote for him.
I know..they don’t have picture IDs but they do have their race cards.
I really wish Libbies (yeah, I know…wish on) would vote based on the actions of an individual rather than on the color of their skin.
What we need is a “Clue” campaign … so we could clue these people into what the “white Obama” is doing to the US. Then maybe they’d vote differently. Perhaps even for Rosie ;) But not for Obama.
ProfShadow on September 24, 2012 at 8:45 AM
…don’t forget…JugEars “evolves”…if Romney learns from his mistakes and takes another tack…he flip-flops.

The media has been completely co-opted to the leftist agenda. This is the long-term threat to our country because the media will continue to do damage beyond this presidential election.
DrStock on September 24, 2012 at 8:52 AM
The Romney campaign shouldn’t have to spend a dime on ad creation. Just get an intern that knows video production to use O’Jerkoff’s words against him.
txag92 on September 24, 2012 at 8:55 AM
To that I would add, “How many things have been ‘the first thing he thinks of when getting up and the last thing he thinks of when going to sleep’”?
Hey Scooter, you know what effective people do? When they have such large problems, they solve them so they don’t have to be thinking of them every waking hour.
AZfederalist on September 24, 2012 at 8:58 AM
What is that term that a certain religion uses when one of its texts contradicts another? Oh, yeah, abrogation. See ya’ll, it’s the same thing with Obama, we need to look at his later words for where he really stands. So, no contradiction here at all folks, just move on.

Only those with Stars in Their Eyes, and Sawdust in Their Brains. In other words, about half the American electorate.
I am old enough to remember when politicians had more trouble trying to fool people. Now, I’m afraid the American people may get exactly what they deserve. It’s up to us Conservatives to rescue them from themselves (and save ourselves, while we’re at it).
That limited government and tax-free city in Honduras is starting to look pretty good.
