This sounds like he wants Sharia law in place in these areas. He admits that Islam is behind the Arab Spring, it is the “organizing principle”. And it hasn’t been controlled completely by the government.

So, without saying it, he’s saying the government either does need to control Islam in those areas or Islam needs to control the government. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. Either way you look at it, he believes in an Islamic government rule.

Islamism and democracy can NEVER work hand in hand. You can’t claim to be for both, because they’re contradictory.

He does believe in sharia, and he has shown that he sides with the muslims. What’s interesting is his Freudian slip: He admits that the one commonality where there have been “bumps in the road” is islam.

I actually favor sober fact based assessments of things.

The bump in the road part of the quote is not as problematic as the fact that he infers that government should be in charge of all of society. Think about it. Whilst some here are harping on the Islam part of the equation, it is much more revealing that he thinks religion should be controlled by the government. He essentially views the problem through a Marxist lens. Religion is tolerable only insofar as it isn’t “out of governmental control.” This is the same stance that he has vis a vis the HHS Obamacare mandates. It is only a difference of degree and not kind and he has the same attitude towards religion here: it isn’t controlled by government, and therefore is problematic.

Of course I have issues with Islam both as a religious system (I believe it to be a Christian heresy) and as a political ideology (it promotes violence and abuse). Nevertheless, I don’t believe any religious system needs to be “controlled completely by the government.” Obama does.

Correct, he if he does not win in Nov. will run next time as the cult of commie Democrats can not and will not exclude him they are one he and these other commie clones.

Notwithstanding what they do, “We should not be just passive bumps in hir road”, we should be “speed bumps” and or traffic cops and give him a speeding our lives away ticket back home to his island and more dope smoking and cracking.
