The War on Bacon

posted at 5:41 pm on September 21, 2012 by Mary Katharine Ham

Welcome! Let us explain.

Kelly Maher of Revealing Politics and I are doing a little talk show for 30-45 minutes, here, at 6:15 p.m. every day. We named it The War on Bacon. We figure, since the government is after trans fats, big sodas, salt, and most other sinfully delicious things, it won’t be long before they zero in on our favorite— bacon. So, as fans of pork products— how could I not be?— we are here to fight for it, in the most crucial fight of our time— The War on Bacon. Join the ranks of the Baconators and fight with us!

We talk a lot of politics, a bit of culture, a splash of sports, and in the end, strive to be a show Ron Swanson would want to watch.

The show will appear in a Google Hangout video below at 6:15 p.m., and there will also be an embedded chat.

You can download the audio for the show, here, or sign up for the RSS feed! See you soon!

Today, Guy Benson of Townhall will call in to break down the news on Romney’s tax returns. Also, Kelly’s report from an Obama rally in Ohio, and a piggy saves a goat from drowning, in which we ironically honor the cuteness of a piglet while simultaneously fighting for the right to eat bacon. Hm.

I gave up the cigarettes, but you can have the bacon when you pry it from my gold dead fingers.

Sorry ladies, but I have it on GOOD authority (posted on another thread) that your “War on Bacon” show just ain’t cuttin’ it.

PS. That “War on Bacon” riff is the most hysterically funny thing that Hot Air has ever conceived. It is a wonder to behold in its idiocy.

Keep up the good work.

Who could argue with authority like that?

Keep up the good work.

I think Hotair is just trying to add some video element to the site. Sure, it’s a blog and they should probably stick with that for people like us, but the masses find video easier to digest, especially on the go. I think they’re looking at the future, but haven’t quite figured it out yet.

You rang ? . . . . . (crickets chirping)

I coulda’ swore I heard someone calling for “bitterness and hate” . . . . .

listens2glenn on September 21, 2012 at 8:46 AM

Speaking of other threads, L2G, you bear as much resemblance to bitterness and hate as left does to right. :)

Goofy-assed HA people. You people need lookin’ after, and no mistake, as I’ve often thought and sometimes said. Well, no matter, as pa used to say, it’s all one, and no biscuit ever got buttered by holding butter while wishing for biscuit. Him being partial to buttered biscuits, and just generally buttered this and that. But that’s all one.

War On Bacon Rage!!

I just calculated the number of possible bacon jokes in the universe. Its somewhere in the neighborhood of 130 million factorial.

So we have plenty left to use before we have to repeat them which is OK since by then our grand children’s children children children will have forgotten them.

Word is that a plate of bacon washed down with a gallon of prune juice cures the bitter and humor-deprived.
