Obama: “You can’t change Washington from the inside”

Well. This is… embarrassing. During an interview with Univision and speaking to his failure to pass comprehensive immigration reform, President Obama lamented the degree to which his capability to lead and to get things accomplished in Washington has been so steadily and unfortunately put-upon, and made a rather awkward apology for his policy deficiencies.

“The most important lesson I’ve learned is you can’t change Washington from the inside.”

Hem, hem. And I quote:

Okay, hold the phone — the President of the United States is powerless to influence Washington’s inner workings? I thought that was supposed to be the entire point of America electing him? You don’t think that maybe the real reason President Obama has failed to deliver on his many ambitious campaign promises — increasing transparency and bipartisanship, ending business as usual, creating jobs, and everything else that can be summed up by his erstwhile campaign slogan — could be because he finally got to Washington and figured out that, hey, actually… I’m fine with it just the way it is. Maybe?

The Twitterverse is having a grand ol’ time with this one:

Full quote: “The most important lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t change Washington from the inside. You can only change it from the outside. That’s how I got elected, and that’s how the big accomplishments like health care got done, was because we mobilized the American people to speak out.”

Yeah right… Mobilized the American people for Obamacare? This passed it against the will of the people in the dark of the night… Obamacare was the ugliest of the ugly about Washington D.C Inside Politics and not caring about the will of the people… And yes they did mobilize the majority of the American people against it and hence the historic Republican victory in 2010 in the House of Representatives…

Now wait a minute here The seas were going to stop rising and the planet was going to start healing, the sun was coming out and the Muslims would love us. You said you were The smartest man alive with the most transparent administration and vague promises of hope and change. So now No Hope? No Change? OK Barry you were elected to be the leader, and now you say I Can’t lead, I can’t change anything in Washington.

It seems to me that the smartest man on earth, with the most transparent administration, who can tame the seas and heal the planet would have figured this out 4 F*^%#@* years ago.

Obviously the smartest man on earth, with the most transparent administration, who can tame the seas and heal the planet is a really slow learner.

I am getting mighty suspicious we may have been led astray by the smartest man on earth, with the most transparent administration, who can tame the seas and heal the planet.

Boy who would have seen that coming? No Hope, No Change all BS

If you can’t change Washington from the inside, get outside and let someone inside who can.

By the way, that big White House you live in–you didn’t build that!!!

You don’t get everything you want in this big, messy democracy, but We the People want it that way.

I think he was reminiscing about his days as a community organizer when, with the help of ACORN and all the rest of the Commie organizations, forced Citibank and then all the other banks and mortgage companies, and then Freddie and Fannie, to approve mortgages to undeserving people that bankrupted our country. He probably fondly remembers that that was outside the government, and has realized that he himself is just a couple of lips flapping and that the legislative branch of government, even harry reid and pelosi, have realized also that his is a dufus pair of flapping lips, where he spends his time wrapping them around a golf ball or a nine iron shaft (makes him feel at home, misses Larry Sinclair, really). Those are the glory days he craves!

Can we get Univision to moderate one of the debates? They were tougher on Obama than any of the Big 3 networks will ever be.
