This makes no sense.

He’s a liberal! He suffers from cognitive dissonance!

Foolish me, I thought they should report news and let readers/listeners/watchers interpret the news. I guess I’ll continue to switch channels immediately when most of the ‘newsies’ come on, because I already know their bias and could use the time to get a cup of coffee.

It wasn’t trolling. It was reporting.

Here was his exact quote:

End of story.

So, the only question should be, why did he publish the piece under a title that strongly suggested otherwise?

I guess the only credible answer is that David would not have been very popular with the Slate crowd had he published a piece without all the diversionary and risibly strained definitions, and under a far more accurate title . . . “Democrats Got Their Butts Repeatedly Booted In Charlotte.”

I thought for a minute I was watching a re-run of the Michigan/Alabama game!

Don’t you just love it when a “correction” posted in a fancy-dancy publication itself contains a glaring error?

No, I never have come across the word “oroginally” either! But it sure sounds funky. The closest my unabridged comes is Orogenic which has something to do with the late 19th Century theories on the non-volcanic origin of mountains.

Weigel is just another Journolister scumbag with an agenda. I have never seen him produce a single useful insight, although I freely admit I quit reading his drivel long ago. As for his interactions with readers, that often consists of deleting critical comments to his pieces, another sign of his craven gutlessness.

I have never understood the esteem in which he is apparently held by Ed, Allah, and now Jazz. He is a horse’s ass. Idiots like him are responsibility for the reduction of the news media to a bad joke.

This is why we are still stuck with these DBs. Because there’s no peer pressure, no shame, no loss of face. This man should not have a platform and should be shunned at every opportunity along with his Journolist buddies.

Instead, we get this crud like it actually means anything and we should care except as target practice with our rotted produce.

Everyday these losers have a platform is an extra day of work for the rest of us.

It’s the whole “I’m not one of those conservatives. You know, the crazy ones,” problem that so many conservative writers and bloggers are infected with. Remember that in the world of “Respectable Opinion,” the JournoList thing doesn’t matter and we have to treat obvious liberal political operatives masquerading as journalists with respect.

Yes, the important ones are “gatekeepers”. I imagine there was a time when the media would have preferred to think of themselves as the ones keeping the gates open.

Missed the significance of that comment on the first reading. These journolisters sure think highly of themselves, don’t they. They are to be the sole arbiters of what is and what is not news. Gatekeepers, not Gatemonitors. The latter is what I would expect from an impartial press, the former from a media arm of the DNC.

Yes, the important ones are “gatekeepers”. I imagine there was a time when the media would have preferred to think of themselves as the ones keeping the gates open. And when it comes to top secret national security matters during Republican administrations, they still are.

Truth hurts, but sometimes, it it wakes people up, it also is the cure for the pain. Unfortunately, most choose not to recognize it.

Our culture has been the left’s path to America’s destruction. Even as we go under we have so many dull minded folks crying that cultural issues don’t matter.
