And, yes, it is only in our historically abnormal afffluence that adults care about such trivia as “music videos” Give me a break. Even some rock musicians have moved on from there.

Again, your analysis of my remarks is off target a little bit. I’d examine my own priorities a bit, if I were you. It is, after all, merely a comment thread. The world will not stop turning from what I’ve said but if Israel attacks Iran or if Iran nukes Tel Aviv, you and I are going to have more on our hands than a mere disagreement about music videos, don’t you think?

No, but I do seek out adult conversations wherever I can find them. Sadly, with our entertainment-based culture, I seem to be finding less and less of them these days. That’s probabaly why I seldom come to HotAir these days.

Reagan won the primary in 1980 outright.

In 1976, Reagan was challenging Ford up until the convention because Ford had not secured enough primary delegates during the primary in order to become the presumptive nominee. Contrastingly, Romney did secure enough delegates to become the presumptive nominee.

What the Paulnuts tried was despicable. Paulnuts attempted to steal the nomination, and your defense of it is pathetic.

The fact that there is a looming crisis does not require us to be serious 24/7, particularly given that there has been an “imminent Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear reactors, any day now!!!!!11!! ZOMFG!!!!!!” for about ten years.

It is customary for commenters to use the quote of the day thread to socialize. AP and Ed do not have a problem with this, and it’s their (technically Town Hall’s) blog. If you yourself have a problem, perhaps you would be happier somewhere else.

You guys are so full of crap it’s not even worth responding too. Obama is bad, but in fact he’s literally not very much different than Romney, if you simply examine their records. Of all the politicians in American, Obama and Romney are by far the closest match. If we are in such dire straights and the very existence of America is in peril, as some of you claim, then obviously the thing to do isn’t to nudge the tiller a little to one side or the other, is it? That makes no sense! No, if Obama is so bad we need somebody who is a lot different, not the closest possible match.

You can’t have it both ways. It’s similar to how half the Romney supporters say that he had nothing to do with Romneycare, that the Democrats practically had a gun to his head and made him do it, while the other half of Romney supporters say it is one of his proudest accomplishments, that’s why he had a special signing ceremony, and is the one thing he has not flip/flopped on one or more times.

You guys can smear me, if there are any objective readers that read these comments I know they will side with me even if they don’t support Ron Paul.

Try as you might, this is not about Ron Paul. This rule change affects all of the grass roots. Almost everybody should care, even Democrats. It should scare them a bit too. The Republican Party is no longer within the bounds of civil politics.

These rule changes would have stopped Reagan from ever being President. If some of you don’t care about that fact then I guess I don’t really care about your opinion. If you want to try to make that about Ron Paul, you are only attempting slight of hand.
