Agreed. I use iTunes often, but they are by no means the only venue out there. I haven’t even begun to explore all of it. :)

I taped it on VHS, but as I understood, WGBH Boston only made the whole series available to schools and libraries, not to sell to the general public. I’ve looked it up online; apparently, WGBH had some of the same copyright issues with releasing it as did the creators of the TV show “The Wonder Years,” but as long as it was limited to schools and libraries, it was OK.

Ah, yes. Licensing music is sometimes a problem, I believe “Freaks and Geeks” had a similar problem. Some TV shows/movies just use different music than was in their original work when it’s released on DVD.

And yep, there are a ton of Internet radio stations that I have in regular rotation in my iTunes — a station for every mood! The Internet: greatest thing since sliced bread! :D

Back in the 90s, Steve Cropper, Booker T, and Donald “Duck” Dunn gave a great interview on the PBS series “Rock and Roll: An Unruly History.” It was terrific — lots of great conversation and cool old concert footage.

I missed that – PBS has done some good rock&roll music history docs. The great thing about the internet is that you can stream radio of your fav genre pretty much anytime you want.

I always liked Booker T. & the MGs and have a bunch of their tunes on my iPod. I was just a kid when they were popular, but I had the fun of discovering them now. There’s a radio station in my neck of the woods that plays four hours of funk every Saturday and opens every show with “Hang ‘Em High,” and plays plenty of their other music as well. Then it’s Blues for the remainder of the night, but some of the deejays slip in a couple of their tunes then, too.

Of course, I don’t know how many folks hereabout remember Booker T. But “Onions” was a must-know tune for any self respecting band back in the day, lol. I could play it in my sleep to this day.
