“America doesn’t need a birther-in-chief”? Are we really going there?

posted at 2:31 pm on August 25, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

Of course we knew that the Obama campaign was going to release a statement of faux outrageous outrage after Romney’s birth-certificate joke on Friday morning, and of course all the libs will be up in arms on the news for the rest of the weekend, taking this as another chance to lament and bemoan the lack of moderation in a party now dominated by crazy right-wing extremists — oh, the humanity! But nobody seriously thinks that Romney was “directly enlisting” himself in the birther movement with the now-infamous one-liner, do they? And I didn’t think the Obama campaign would seize on this too much as an actual issue, lest they end up looking silly themselves.

But I was wrong. So wrong.

“Holding out hope Romney had a vision for the middle class? THINK AGAIN.

Le sigh. I underestimated their desperation for distractions and their commitment to their denigrate-Romney’s-character-at-all-costs modus operandi, no matter how unserious and lame the charge. The beatings will continue until morale improves.

I only scream when it hurts.
The Obama camp is so sensitive about the birth certificate thing that it leads me to believe that there must be something to it.

For some reason the Obama camp does not want anyone looking into the birth certificate seriously.

America’s sheriff has already determined that the certificate they presented America with (thanks to Donald Trump) was Photoshopped.

I guess it is easier to kill the messenger than to refute the message.

Romney is a felon. Obama wasn’t born in America.

Which statement is more calumnious and absurd?

Obama asserted the former. Romney never said or implied the latter (though Obama’s own literary biography did, for 15 years).

Yet we’re on the defensive?

Notwithstanding this analogy, Romney has an embarrassment of riches to unload on Obama. Will he ever?

If Romney and his braintrust could grasp for one second how incredibly and deeply sick of playing defense we on the Right are, and of how congenitally and reflexively lapsing into defense is mutating bit by bit the very essence of our country’s character, he could take this election by storm. And it wouldn’t require “birtherism” or even belligerence.

Figure it out, you fuck*ng RINOs.

But we need need a natural-born citizen as President – and someone whose vision for America is not the vision of a deceased Kenyan “anti-colonial” Marxist, which are now being posthumously forced on our country by his son (who, regardless of his birth-place, holds the dreams from his father to be the right dreams for the rest of us). If Obama is doing what his father would do – then there really is a Kenyan leading us (vicariously).

The smart thing to do would be to ignore Romney’s joke, but they’re incapable of doing so. They believe that everyone thinks the same way they do and that they can continue to bludgeon decent people with the race card forever.

The real source of Camp BO’s angst is that (as I said yesterday) Team R&R are the All American Guys. Their appeal is enormous for those of us who love our country. Their appeal is huge for older people who remember when smart young men looked and behaved like R&R. There is a strong nostalgic appeal with these two men, and what the Left fails to understand – decade after decade – is that Americans love their country, and that love goes deep.

We don’t want to be a European Socialist country, and we’re too smart to think it’s a good idea to replicate a failed model. What kind of idiot does this when they know it’s doomed? Obama, that’s who! And why? People are asking questions, and it scares them to death.

The Left and Camp BO have to wonder why the movie, “2016″ is doing so well. They must be terrified, as well they should. When people understand the enormous fraud that was perpetrated upon this country in 2008 by the media and the Dems, they are going to be furious.

So let the Dems make their pi$$y little ads. Their best case scenario is that they lose, shut up and suffer no further damages.

The thing to keep in mind is that they are trying to play the same game with Mitt that they played with McCain and it isn’t working. Think if the Republican campaign as sheep and the media as a sheepdog. The Obama campaign is attempting to use the media to keep Romney’s campaign within certain bounds. It is how the left stifles the right. If you say something they don’t like, they go all hyperbolic in order to get you back in your corral. Mitt isn’t playing. He’s going to go here he damned well pleases. They don’t like that.

For example, I saw the AP last night tweet that Mitt was going to Ohio “after string of distractions that include questioning Obama’s birth place”. That is the sort of thing that a servile, fawning, sycophantic press does. Romney never “questioned Obama’s birth place”. And see how the Associated Press accuses Mitt of “a string of distractions” when it is the PRESS that is attempting to MAKE one sentence into a distraction. THEY are making it a distraction, they could simply ignore the comment. That comment was not central to Mitt’s campaign message, it was simply a “We’re back home, we’re from here, and you know it” sort of comment.

What “the media” is going ballistic about is that Romney isn’t allowing them to control the message.

crosspatch on August 25, 2012 at 3:28 PM

Psst — Romney’s not the one on the defense here.

Dark Star on August 25, 2012 at 3:24 PM

No, he is not on defense. He just smiled and said it was an attempt at humor..it is not his fault if the Obama people and their surrogates in the media are a bunch of paranoid, hysterical and thin skinned ninnies.

Context..context…

Oh wait that is only for what Obama, Biden and the rest of the democrats say. Even if the context is a whole 2 minutes long “you didn’t build that” clip does not help but still makes it worse you took it out of context. Having a 7 word joke has no relationship to the rest of the speech is only possible if you are a republican.

But it has the whiff of “he’s that multiracial, not 100% American, Hawaii’s not really a state, no roots, he has “no people,” etc.” kind of guy, which for me is troubling.

Then you would be one of the foolish people that they are targeting.

I figured you were talking about conservatives that don’t want a Mormon…so sorry for the misunderstanding…

ladyingray on August 25, 2012 at 3:33 PM

*Or the Ron Paul type thing.

Axe on August 25, 2012 at 3:33 PM

What “the media” is going ballistic about is that Romney isn’t allowing them to control the message.

Dark Star on August 25, 2012 at 3:24 PM

Maybe. Remains to be seen. But not my larger points. 1. Our congenital defensive reflex (look at the Akin issue, just most recent example) and 2. the fathomless depth of material we have on Obama we’re not usuing to put HIM on defensive EVERY DAY. Further, Republicans still bow and scrape to the media failing to identify they are the true source of Obama’s power and taking them on directly.

rrpjr on August 25, 2012 at 3:36 PM

from an AP story on Obama:

In an interview with The Associated Press, Obama said Romney lacks serious ideas, refuses to “own up” to the responsibilities of what it takes to be president, and deals in factually dishonest arguments that could soon haunt him in face-to-face debates.

What lala land does Obama inhabit?
