Albright campaigns for Obama: We’re going to keep blaming Bush “forever”

posted at 2:01 pm on August 21, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

How nice. From Revealing Politics, here’s former Clinton-appointed U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright speaking at an Obama campaign rally in Colorado and assuring supporters that Democrats will quit blaming ‘the previous administration’ for all of the country’s problems on approximately the twelfth of never.

“All of a sudden this man gets up and says, ‘How long will you blame the previous administration for all of your problems?’ I said, ‘Forever.’”

Well, at least they’re consistent, I suppose. President Obama has yet to let up in blaming a whole myriad of “headwinds” that are most conclusively and without a doubt preventing his policies from working as he promised they would, so why should any of his surrogates? (Intellectual honesty and/or personal accountability, by the way, are not good reasons. Evidently.)

Also last week in Colorado, Albright warned supporters that the foreign-policy team in a Romney administration would apparently look just like it did under the Bush administration. Quelle horreur:

Albright told a crowd of Obama supporters Wednesday that Romney is surrounded by Bush’s foreign policy advisers. She said: “If you liked the previous administration, all those people will be back. It’s the same people.”

Hypothetical – if Obama loses, and the economy doesn’t recover, can we blame Obama forever?

That’s funny. I thought the actions of the current administration looks almost exactly like the one of the Bush admin? Especially the War on Terror.

Aside from snubbing our allies and giving way to our enemies, they are very similar.

They tried to keep blaming Herbert Hoover for every problem, or referencing his name to tie whomever the current GOP candidate was, all the way up to John Kerry’s 2004 run. No surprise the Madster thinks they can do the same thing to Bush, but it only will get legs for the Dems if Obama’s re-elected. If he loses, whoever they nominate in 2016 to face Romney will have to deal with having Barack Obama references throw in his face for the whole campaign (especially if the Dems were actually crazy enough to renominate the lightwalker four years from now).

You know, after seeing the tremendous depth of foreign policy on the current administration’s team; I’m totally good with having all of those people from the previous administration back. It’ going to take a long time to clean up after this past 4 years. A long time.

President Bush was certainly too much of a big spender (not nearly as much as President Obama), which is a drain on the economy, but it was the housing collapse more than anything else that caused the economic crisis in ’08. Bush & others tried to warn us about that months in advance, but Barney Frank, Maxine Watters, & other Democrats obstructed any necessary reforms, claiming Fannie & Freddie ought to keep on forcing banks to lend to thousands of folks who couldn’t repay.
The overvalued stock market & subsequent crash also hurt our economy, but there’s not much a president can do about that.

Unemployment was at 7.6% when Obama took the oath to uphold the Constitution in January ’09. He & his cohorts warned us that it might go over 8% if Congress didn’t pass his “stimulus” package. It has been over 8% for over three years, which is the longest-lasting stretch of disastrous unemployment since the Depression (which was another bad economy caused by liberalism & prolonged by more liberalism).

Economic downturns come & go, but they rarely last this long. You can’t blame Bush forever.

Blame Bush “Forever”. It makes sense for the Dems because they have no other message.

Madelaine Albright belongs to a short list of women who were first in a position of government leadership:

1. Madelaine Albright – First Female Secretary of State – Failure
2. Janet Reno – First Female Attorney General – Failure
3. Nancy Pelosi – First Female Speaker of the House – Failure

I don’t believe it’s because they are females as to why they were failures. It’s because they are Democrats.

Oh, and to be fair, let’s not forget the first black male President – a failure too. And, a Democrat.

I sense a pattern here!

iamsaved on August 21, 2012 at 2:19 PM

Now that’s some breaking news!!!

Who would have ever thought they’d do something like that?

iamsaved on August 21, 2012 at 2:19 PM

The problem isn’t that they’re female (like you said). It’s the democrats’ insistance that the fact that they are the first females in those positions is qualification enough.

Of course they will, because Obama will never have a positive accomplishment and the country will never prosper under a Democrat.

If things were going great, Bush would have been forgotten.

They suck so of course they have to blame someone else for their miserable failings.

If Bush has such superpowers as to prevent any of Obama’s policies from working forever, why exactly should we re-elect Obama this November? Will Bush’s powers be any weaker in a second term?

Fred 2 on August 21, 2012 at 2:40 PM

Well, if Bush is to blame for all the nation’s problems four years down the road, what does it say about Obama that he hasn’t managed to fix a damn thing in those four years? And why should we give him four more years to keep trying, when nothing he does works? Time for a change.

When Jimmy Carter was thrown out of office, there were plenty of Democrats who voted for him in 1980 who were willing to admit that he did a lousy job on the economy. They just couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Reagan. But if Reagan spent the next four years whining about the horrible mess that he was left to deal with, the media would never stand for it.

But now we keep hearing about how the mess that Bush left Obama with is so big, that it could take ten years to fix, and how we should be thanking Obama for saving us from a recession.

This double standard is based on the MSM assumption that ONLY a Republican POTUS could screw up the economy so badly that it would take ten years to fix it. Whereas a Democrat could only screw things up enough where it would take one or two years to fix it.

This is something that the GOP needs to call the MSM out on repeatedly over the next two months.

Here is the problem to the masses with blaming Bush…

If a neighbors tree fell and ripped a hole in your house – its the neighbors fault. They admit it and pay you $25,000 for the damage.

Now 3 years go by, the damage hasn’t been fixed, you spent the $25,000 on a vacation and your house still has a hole and a large pond… how much longer will your wife let you blame the neighbors tree???

The saddest thing is… Hanks and every other democrat except a tiny fraction,.. will actually believe it. Obama probably does see himself as a unifying president.. and those felony accusations, tax cheat allegations.. and telling folks Mitt killed a man’s wife with his newly patented cancer ray gun…

are just friendly pats on the shoulder..

We’re talking about a president marinated in the sewer of democrat corrupt machine Chicago politics… someone who can’t start off his day without kneecapping his opponents mother..

and the democrats keep up this delusion, that they are the “nice” campaigners.. while republicans.. (repigs according to the democrat underground) are the party of cold hearted evil.

That the media.. small pieces of it, are suddenly noticing that Obama isn’t the God King.. and that the GOP has a point about the democrats raging hypocrisy on every issue..

That Newsweek cover really sent shock waves through the left… apostates.. among the MSM?

unthinkable..

They at DU openly admitted they considered the MSM their personal propaganda mill.. and having any of them jump the ship’s rail like scared rats is driving them into hysteria. They are terrified that the media actually might start asking Obama HARD questions.. That they might have to actually be accountable for his actions, and that the Romney team might get something faintly resembling a fair shot..

That they openly admit, they want this election rigged is frightening, and shows just how Stalinist the left has become.
