Video: Touré pretty sure that Romney calling Obama “angry” is racial

posted at 8:12 pm on August 16, 2012 by Allahpundit

Via Mediaite, does anyone care? If you’re a liberal watching Touré, chances are it’s for one reason: Because he likes to pronounce on what’s racist and what isn’t, and usually “what’s racist” lines up nicely with the left’s political agenda. See, e.g., his meditation last month at Time on how Romney’s fleeting criticism of ObamaCare during his speech to the NAACP proves that — you guessed it — he’s racist. Andrew Breitbart used to have endless fun on Twitter goofing on this guy, imagining that one day he’d land his very own TV vehicle for all-purpose racial demagoguery entitled “That Broccoli Is Racist.” That’s basically what this clip is, with the role of broccoli being played by Romney’s detection of some anger in Team Obama repeatedly smearing him over his tax returns, the steelworker’s dead wife, and the alleged “chains” that he wants to put “y’all” into.

What makes this a very special episode of “That Broccoli Is Racist” is Touré’s use of the word “niggerization” to describe what Romney’s allegedly doing to O. Not sure why he felt obliged to up the ante that way. Maybe he and the MSNBC team have grown more pessimistic about O’s chances against Romney. Or maybe it’s a ratings thing. Let’s face it: As much as we all like S.E. Cupp, no one wants to watch a show in which she’s forced by three liberals into pointless daily debates over whether the latest piece of news broccoli is, perhaps, a tad on the racist side. Throw some incendiary language into the mix, though, and there’s at least an “I wonder what they’ll say next!” sensationalist hook to it. Either way, the point here is that you really shouldn’t be scandalized, as hard as Touré is trying. There’s no political benefit to saying stuff like this outside of MSNBC’s viewer base — just look how badly the “chains” thing blew up in Biden’s face — and, as I said, in substance it’s really no different from Touré’s usual shtick. It’s like watching an acoustic guitar player who knows just one song, and who plays it over and over and over, suddenly pick up an electric guitar and play it on that. New, and “edgy,” for maybe five seconds. And then you realize you’re listening to the same song again.

Exit question: Has “The Cycle” tackled the thorny subject of the missile that hit the Pentagon on 9/11 yet? I’d be curious to know how that particular broccoli is racist.

Yup, everything a Republican says is racists, according to the clowns at MSNBC. Of course only racist leftists can detect it. The Republicans could propose a new “Great Society” and it would be racists because it presupposes that racial minorities cannot support themselves.

Un. Real. This Obama campaign and his lickspittle minions have officially jumped the shark.

sbvft contributor on August 16, 2012 at 8:59 PM

The Obama message, implicitly, is that the conditions on the ground, including in the black community, are small, grudging details when weighed against the epic fact that a black man occupies the Oval Office. It’s a point of view. But that argument is too charged, too at odds with Obama’s official de-emphasis on race, to be made out loud and in the light of day. Better to work through the hidden-hand approach, through surrogates who create plausible deniability and through commentators who can be disavowed.

burrata on August 16, 2012 at 8:42 PM

Moving beyond Toure’s problematic language, the answer to your question is yes. The notion that black people are “angry,” “hot tempered” and inordinately violent has been part of the arsenal of white supremacy since the end of slavery (if you’ll recall, prior to emancipation slave owners argued that slaves were actually docile creatures who had no yearning for freedom). With slavery abolished former confederates began spinning a whole new set of yarns about the uncontrollable black buck and jezebel, who were liable to set off in a rage at any moment (in particular when a white woman was involved). Indeed the issue of “jealousy” and “anger” is an even bigger historical dog-whistle as it was believed that black men were jealous of white men’s exclusive access to white women and thus looked for any opportunity to rape them and to exact murder on white men. So yeah there are good reasons why the “angry” and “jealousy” thing thing sets off alarms for black folk.

Just an idea: if you want to create a “new domestic civilian police corpse” as powerful as the US military, but Congress would under no circumstances allow that, what to do?

How about quietly create a paramilitary branch to every existing federal department office that there is, using existing funding for that organization? Merge them at some time in the future into the new Brownshirt Corps.

They’ve either bought or have orders in for more than 1 billion hollow-point rounds, which have been illegal for use in international warfare since The Hague Convention of 1899, Declaration III.

I wrote about this issue yesterday in connection with something else that is going around the Federal government in the homeland security and defencive services. When put together, it adds up to one possible and obvious, but extremely unsettling – to say the least – conclusion:

Why Would The Federal Government Purchase Over 1 Billion Rounds Of Ammunition That Has Been Outlawed, Internationally, For More Than A Century?

Libfree has to be bothered by this or his entire reason for existence is undermined.

It’s sad.

You know what else is sad Lib?

That Barack Obama undermined FDR and LBJ’s long con and showed that Democrats are not the “shield of the working man” and in fact undermined happily with Barack Obama a program that protects ALL working Americans in their twilight. No politician should ever be entrusted with the 25% of our wages that are withheld, but especially not a man who would happily sign away Medicare to game the CBO to get a purposefully flawed Obamacare passed as a combination ego project/first step to singlepayer a majority never wanted. There are a lot of old guard dems who now that they understand are doing a VERY hard calculation of whether to try to save Obama or save themselves.

The BEAUTY of all this is, we could NEVER have done it without YOUR help. See YOU wanted HISTORIC! so you pushed for him before he was ready. He even admitted on Oprah he had NO business being the President yet, but SCREW HILLARY! and thank God YOU did.

Hillary, NOT BECAUSE of race was the better selection because she learned the hard way after DEMOCRATS defeated her raid on medicare that you do not EXPOSE THE LONG CON.

Now what I am dying to know and I ASSURE YOU it will come out is whether or not ANY of the old guard warned him. If they did and Dave or Val said, “nah you’re swell!” I am laughing AT YOU. Barack Obama proved Reagan correct.

Thank you thank you thank you.

You, your fellow OBAMA ELEVENTY!!!! fans, and the media made what is about to happen possible. Gen X and the Baby Boomers and the older Americans are going to demand fiscal sanity and demand you donks go right.

I know you may never have got the memo, but I am ex-infantry and I have called people from every race brother.

The problem with your idol is not in his skin, it is in his heart and mind.

His eyes rage green with envy, and his heart and mind rage with Red Marxist fury.

He cannot help him self, so I may not have built it YOU and he did….

and I may not spread the wealth around quite like he did….

but then I also didn’t basically take gasoline and matches to about 3 trillion dollars in spending on a series of larks either….

“so there’s that”…

have a nice night, and again “thanks”

Resist We Much on August 16, 2012 at 9:58 PM

I asked you this same thing yesterday and you ran away.

Del Dolemonte on August 16, 2012 at 9:49 PM

Del we are all racists, little libby knows this to be true, because Jimmy the Greek told him so. Hence the great running ability.

Bmore on August 16, 2012 at 10:00 PM

Darn that Toure! Now we’ll have to come up with a new secret code word to talk about angry black men.

John the Libertarian on August 16, 2012 at 9:56 PM

Busted!

Bmore on August 16, 2012 at 10:01 PM

No. There kind of is. First there’s the Obama is “angry” and “jealous” rhetoric, see my post upthread. But then there’s the welfare issue which is nothing but a racial dog whistle and has been such ever since the Reagan campaign.

libfreeordie on August 16, 2012 at 9:05 PM

I am so glad I come to HA to read your incoherent claptrap. I do have to ask though, are you in therapy or on medication? I mean this sincerely because your poats have become so convoluted and nonsensical that they certainly give that impression.

So you say that Blacks are not allowed to be angry and jealous? Oh, no of course not. You’re saying we aren’t allowed to mention it when they are. So since I am not Black it is acceptable to call me angry and jealous, that about it? Even for you this is pathetic drivel.

As for your welfare comment, you do know you are the one who is being racist because after all, so many of your Liberal friends(and probably you) have pointed out that there are more Whites on welfare.

Deanna on August 16, 2012 at 10:01 PM

Wow. What a toolbag

I’d eat the business end of a Ruger Blackhawk before I’d ever allow myself to make that much of a self-righteous ignoramus of myself on national TV.

Del Dolemonte on August 16, 2012 at 9:49 PM

He/she/it does that a lot apparently. At first I thought it was me, because it seemed like every time I asked a question, Libie disappeared.

I have often wondered how little libby knows which ones of us are black and which ones of us are white. Generally it is impossible for me to tell.

Bmore on August 16, 2012 at 10:04 PM

I don’t thinnk it is Romney who is causing the ****ization of Obama. He seems to be doing a pretty good job of it all by himself. Sort of weird for a half white guy too.

MikeA on August 16, 2012 at 10:05 PM

I know I am supposed to listen to these moron’s in order to comment on what they’ve said…but I find it never changes (apart from getting more & more desparate), so I did not click on the link.

Face it, did anyone on this blog really need to hear it come out of this race baiter’s mouth?

They’re flailing folks, just sit back and enjoy!

Bmore on August 16, 2012 at 10:04 PM

It’s simple, you don’t know how to decode the hidden meanings and slight spacing of words that identify Whites from Blacks. Only Liberals have that ability;)

Deanna on August 16, 2012 at 10:08 PM

Bravo to SE for not lunging across the table and knocking this idiot’s block off. Also Krystal Ball (?!?) must be having study sessions with Soledad. Amazing.

cynccook on August 16, 2012 at 8:16 PM

One thing that was dissappointing was that she didn’t refute those easily refutable claims about the GOP playing the race game in the past (Willy Horten was about race….really?…yeah….).

Why Would The Federal Government Purchase Over 1 Billion Rounds Of Ammunition That Has Been Outlawed, Internationally, For More Than A Century?

Resist We Much on August 16, 2012 at 9:13 PM

Easy – behind the curve thinking.

From November of 2008 through to early 2011, most of the popular calibers of ammunition (rifle and pistol) were selling out of all production runs by ALL manufacturers.

The demand was so great, many new companies were started to get in on the “lead rush” and have been reaping the rewards.

In total, somewhere north of ten billion rounds of ammunition were sucked up by civilian purchasers during that time period.

At the gun shows I was attending at the time, it was common to see people lined up early with hand carts who went in and bought rounds by the thousands (with cash) and who rolled their loaded up carts back out the door in the first half hour. If you didn’t get there early … “No ammo for you!”

Anyone stupid enough to believe the police or armed forces are going to try to seize control of the country this fall (including any potential government usurpers) have a naturally occuring vacuum between their ears.

I have never known an LEO or military person who wanted to be on the wrong side of 100:1 odds. I have never known a military person who had not learned one of the most important lessons of Viet Nam:

“It is impossible to control a country where 5% or more of the population is willing to engage you in armed insurrection.”

(FYI – Iraq and Afghanistan only underscored that lesson.)

Incidentally, the best historical estimate of the highwater of support for the Revolutionary War was 12% – before the war started. It went down from there … and the good guys still won.

Supposedly, all the hollow point ammunition is being bought for annual LEO forces qualifications.

As may be, all of the above still applies.

Even black people think this kid is a fool. The left has so thoroughly diminished the definition of racism that is no longer carries any weight as a charge against someone. If the left thinks the race card will work they truly are stupid.

Just read libfreeordie’s historical analysis above and have concluded it was relevant 140 years ago. Dude it is 2012 and there is a black man as president of the United States. The only people that seem to be racists are the left. Black people are not your victims that you cam hold hostage to your failed ideology anymore.

Ellis on August 16, 2012 at 10:18 PM

I guess I’m mostly dismayed because Toure let the Romney campaign get to him. You don’t respond to race-baiting campaigns by turning into the image of the angry-black man that the Romney campaign is trading in. No. You pull a Melissa Harry Perry. You turn that anger into snark and pointed analysis. You draw out evidence, you situate things in context and you do it without breaking a sweat. Toure broke and its just a damn shame. I don’t want to see him on my TV screen again.

libfreeordie on August 16, 2012 at 8:41 PM

The Romney campaign is not race baiting, and your world view is pretty twisted, the same as Toure. You are no better than him. You have no pointed analysis on your side, you have “Romney put his dog on the roof of his car.” BTW, Toure is pretty weak if Romney calling Obama angry was all it took to break him. How are you all going to make it to November?

Stop.
Think.

The race card is finally here.

Joe Biden gaffing again…? Absolutely not….. Now you can see it was staged.

This is their last frontier….. The race baiting of lily white Super Mitt.

Stay on the facts. IGNORE THE RACE BS- do not give these dishonest ( Thank You S.E., you lovely young woman) liberal scum morons anything to distort.

FlaMurph on August 16, 2012 at 10:40 PM

And things have gotten worse for many black people, but they can’t blame their first black president, so they call us racists. Go figure.

Who the heck is Melissa Harry Perry anyway?
