Video: Lifelike talking-points robot doesn’t like being reminded that Ryan’s Medicare plan won’t affect seniors

posted at 8:52 pm on August 13, 2012 by Allahpundit

Guy Benson did a nice job of writing this up but really, there’s no comment necessary. The clips speak for themselves. Job one for Democrats: Lie your ass off in the interest of convincing seniors that Romney and Ryan are prepared to reduce Medicare benefits for everyone, regardless of age, instead of exempting people aged 55 and over as Ryan has promised. When that doesn’t work — and thanks to a surprisingly dogged Wolf Blitzer, it doesn’t — shift to plan B by arguing that Romney and Ryan are prepared to reduce Medicare for the grandmas of the future, which could totally be avoided if we just keep reelecting Democrats and have the magical unicorn in Obama’s backyard fart out a few new trillion-dollar bills to keep the program solvent. No mention of the unicorn here by Debbie, alas, but be patient. I think they might be ready to roll him out at the convention.

Mark my words. By October, Wasserman-Schultz will be doing these segments standing next to old ladies who are eating Fancy Feast out of the can. “Is this what you want, America?”

You have to wonder if the Democrats now need to write down on cards exactly what Debbie Wasserman-Schultz should say when she is on camera, because it is very clear and apparent that anything that comes out of this goof’s mouth on the spur of the moment takes the concept of being a complete moron to its absolute zenith!

pilamaye on August 14, 2012 at 5:39 AM

55 and over.

But us taxpayers under 55 are supposed to sit back and continue watching “our share” of the Federal deficit increase even more, so that the Dems and Reps can satisfy the elderly (who vote in high numbers) for upcoming elections? I get it.

Always entertaining to watch both parties fight over various Ponzi schemes and debt-funded programs.

Get’s better with every passing day it seems…Liberal Democrat boneheads keep on lying to voters, and they’re not even seemingly trying to hide it…Like Debs here. Of course this works for appeasing the liberal lemming voters out there who only hear what they want to hear, truth be damned.

Have you ever checked the price label on the supermarket shelf for Fancy Feast? That stuff is over $30/lb

JetBoy on August 14, 2012 at 6:58 AM

OMG! dws is officially the stupidest, most inellectually challenged person on planet earth!!! her monumental imbecility is painful to watch, can’t believe that Wolfie wouldn’t let her get away with her spin..wait, that doesn’t even qualify as spin, too dumb for that….

jimver on August 13, 2012 at 9:22 PM

I don’t know what I would call DWS but person is not the word that comes to mind. You can’t be that intentionally dishonest, intellectually devoid of reason, so ugly both inside and out and be considered a person. At best she is some mutated devil’s spawn who should be featured in a horror movie about mutants taking over a dog show or something.

This just in- DWS figures out that people age. You know what we call old people under 55? Not old people. Four frickin’ minutes of this mindless partisan whore basically saying that maintaining the status quo that is killing Medicare is the non-negotiable starting point. I hope the DNC keeps this vile brainless woman in front of the cameras.

Happy Nomad on August 14, 2012 at 7:46 AM

She reminds me of the low income apartment rental/tenant logic.

nimrod on August 14, 2012 at 7:52 AM

You know what would be a refreshing change (not going to happen in the silly season). The DNC chair stands in front of the camera, acknowledges that something needs to be done with Medicare entitlements and that Democrats are looking to work with their GOP colleagues to find a solution to keep the system solvent while protecting the promises made to the American taxpayers of all ages.

Instead we get a mindless partisan whore calling names and making stupid comments that do nothing to change the fact that maintaining the current Medicare system is not an option.

Happy Nomad on August 14, 2012 at 7:58 AM

Bleas her heart, she has become a cartoon. At some point the dnc has to ask themselves why they continue to allow her on camera.

“Debbie, Paul Ryan says the sky is blue.”
“Wolf, it isn’t. It’s an optical illusion.”
“Looks blue to me.”
“It’s clearly not blue.”
“Okay, how is it not blue?”
“Sometimes the clouds cover it.”
“Yeah, but it’s still blue behind the clouds. Nothing changes.”
“That’s not blue, it’s grey.”
“Maybe but Paul Ryan says the sky is blue.”
“Wolf, it isn’t. It’s an optical illusion.”

Continue for at least 4 minutes.

Heh. Not bad but the DNC script would include the term “radical” at least three or four times.

Happy Nomad on August 14, 2012 at 8:14 AM

Kudos to Wolf.

It was a case study in what Democrats do when they think they’re among friends in the media:

Lie, lie, lie, lie, repeat as necessary until people start repeating the lie like you are.

The best change they could make is to allow anyone to opt OUT of medicare without losing social security. The most common reason that people take medicare is to preserve their social security. I bet the average younger person doesn’t know that you are not only paying for medicare when you are working (a limited and truncated insurance), but you will pay for it monthly out of your social security check after you retire. Thats for the truncated version. If you still want fuller insurance coverage, you pay a bunch more for a medigap type insurance. Here’s the rub: The additional insurance that you buy can (by democraptic fiat) only cover things that are not fully covered by medicare, but are recognized by medicare. If you have a condition that is NOT medicare eligible, you can’t get insurnace to cover it. You are screwed. The cheapest thing for seniors would be to allow them bo buy ANY level of insurance they want without bureaucratic interference. If the Ryan plan is enacted, and you get a voucher, effectively allowing you to put the extra money you pay towards a good insurance policy, you younger folks will be truly blessed.

Old Country Boy on August 14, 2012 at 8:49 AM

I just don’t get it. (1) dont we WANT/NEED to end Medicare as we know it? (2) there needs to be means testing for Medicare – it you don’t need it you don’t get it (2) why do our politicians kow-tow to seniors anyway (prescription drugs and Bush anyone?) I am sick of it and (3) can someone please wipe off that sh! T eating grin off wazzy’s face?

I actually felt bad for Blitzer…trying to have a discussion with Debbie just tortures the mind.

JetBoy on August 14, 2012 at 9:10 AM

Why is hotair emphasizing this video as evidence of anything? DWS doesn’t seem unable to grasp what PR is proposing regarding Medicare changes. She seems very clear in her view that a person who is 54 vs a person who is 56 receive vastly different benefits. That’s a debate we are having, and she seems to clearly be taking a certain side. If anything this video shows Wolf Blitzer is an idiot.

lcchamp on August 14, 2012 at 9:13 AM

o.K., I’m beyond tired of seeing this hag’s mug plastered
all over HotAir….

….time to update an all time classic movie exchange.

Wolfie Blitzer: “a woman who lies like you, and has your
ugliness…she gonna die”

DWS: “When?”

ToddPA on August 14, 2012 at 9:25 AM

You know what comes across about DWS more than the fact that she’s a liar?

Her appalling immaturity. She’s like the six-year-old princess that has been so doted upon by her parents that she’s now convinced that nothing she ever says or believes is wrong. A product of way too much undeserved praise.

MadisonConservative on August 14, 2012 at 9:46 AM

Wade on August 14, 2012 at 10:33 AM

While I agree 100% regarding DWS’s blatant dishonesty and unbelievable spin on the FACTS, she is a cancer survivor. She cannot help how she looks; the only thing she can help is the moonbat ideology that is the Democratic party.

We often see the left wing loons calling Conservatives/Repbulicans racist, intolerant, etc….Let’s keep the discourse to her policies and beliefs, not that she isn’t the most attractive person around….

All one has to do is take a snapshot of Conservative/Republican women and compare it to Liberal/Democratic women…We know where the hottest, most attractive and smartest women align their beliefs with :)

AmericanPatriot70 on August 14, 2012 at 10:45 AM

@Madison Conservative

Two things bother me more:

1) DWS isn’t out there trying to look like an idiot. She pitches that stuff because her party thinks it works – shows how little they think of the voters.

2) Far too often, the BS she/they peddle has worked.

BD57 on August 14, 2012 at 10:48 AM

The lying liar Gibbs is only 41? Wow, look what years of prevarication does to a person.

maryo on August 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM

Here I thought that my revulsion for Debbie Wasserman-Shultz was because of her repugnant ideas and the obnoxious way that she voices them. But it turns out my revulsion was a result of the perfectly natural “uncanny valley” response of a normal person to a somewhat lifelike android.

Of course, she still has repugnant ideas and voices them in an obnoxious way…

Haiku Guy on August 14, 2012 at 11:02 AM

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. A true hack with the intellectual firepower of a mushroom, and all the charm of a warm bucket of Chum.

paragon27x on August 14, 2012 at 11:07 AM

The biggest takeaway for me on the videos? bagdahd bobby glibbs is only 41 years old? DAMN. Lieing all the time takes a toll on you worse than drugs, alcohol and cigs.

VegasRick on August 14, 2012 at 11:50 AM

It’s hard to believe that this individual (I hesitate to say “person”) is the head of a political party in the free world. If it takes a village, she is the village idiot.

driguana on August 14, 2012 at 11:51 AM

I can only watch about five seconds of DebbieWS before the nausea sets in. If there is a just God, we will see the last of her around Thanksgiving or so.

Exactly!

I think it was Iowahawk who came up with the killer line for this:

“You know what will end Medicare as we know it? Medicare as we know it.

Lifelike talking-points robot..

Two points:

“Lifelike”? Really? How so? Dish-rag-hair “Debbie”, on screen, looks like a badly done CG rendition of a Zombie on sedatives.

As for the “robot” comparison. As a system designer, I’ve worked with robots, I know robots, I have great respect for their artificial intelligence, and Debbie is no robot!
