Videos: Paul Ryan is totally ready for his close-up

posted at 2:01 pm on August 11, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

Jazz already posted speech excerpts and some past videos of Paul Ryan’s prosperity-promotin’ badassery, but just for good measure and if you’re not yet feeling the excitement, here are a few more.

Below is the full video of Romney and Ryan rolling out the Comeback Team earlier this morning — I think Ryan might’ve been a tad bit nervous at first, but overall a very assuring speaker, no?

Solid. So, on to a some flashbacks: Remember that time Ryan absolutely tore ObamaCare to shreds, right to President Obama’s face? That was fun.

So bold, so brash. And then there was the time Paul Ryan annihilated President Obama’s proposals to hike taxes on the wealthy, in about ninety seconds.

In a nutshell, the Democrats’ class-warmongering amounts to not even a drop in the bucket of bringing down our national deficit, and would do untold harm to economic growth to boot. Kind of makes it all the more galling that hiking taxes on the wealthy is pretty much Obama’s central campaign platform right now, doesn’t it?

And if you’re looking for further proof of Paul Ryan’s excellent fiscal, economic, and budgetary expertise, you’ll enjoy this little takedown.

Yep, I’d say we can definitely work with that — and how!

RYAN STARTED BY MENTIONING DELPHI.

THT WILL BE THE KEY TO DESTROYING OBAMA AND HIS COMDRADES:

THEY INTERVENED TO SCREW THE 20,000 DELPHI PENSIONERS AND LIED UNDER OATH TO CONGRESS ABOUT IT.

THEY SCREWED THE DELPHI FOLS SO THEY COULD HELP THEIR CRONIES IN THE UAW.

THIS IS IMPEACHABLE STUFF FOLKS.

IT SHOULD AT THE VERY LEAST DESTROY OBAMA’S REELECTION HOPES.

IT’S FAST AND FURIOUS MEETS SOLYNDRA.

Not a single naysayers. No contrarians. Ok, leave that to me. I’m a big Ryan fan, skillfully eloquent and more Joe the Plumber than country club. Smart as a tack. But why did his introductory speech seem kind of, well… boring. I didn’t watch the whole thing because, I said why. Spice it up. Watch Palin clips for inspiration.

Dante on August 11, 2012 at 3:19 PM

This choice of Ryan means the election will not be a choice between two people but a choice between two economic philosophies. Barack may be more “likable” than Romney in a large number of people’s minds but when you put a philosophy of free market capitalism where millions of market participants make the decisions with their own money rather than a government controlled bureaucracy picking the winners and losers using the taxpayers money, free markets will win. When you put a philosophy of investors putting their money up in businesses they feel will sufficiently create wealth by greater efficiency or better quality & service to allow the investor to enjoy a profit versus a philosophy of government investing taxpayers’ money where they feel the politician will reap the greatest political profit, the private investor philosophy will win.

Ryan might well win a personality contest with Obama but that is not want the public wants and Ryan won’t engage in that. He wants to win the economic argument and that is one the public will want to hear.

21:20 Ryan repeats Romney lie that he did not increase taxes. Then makes out like this lie shows his integrity.

Hello. Not in my book. Lying is the opposite. Wonder if Ryan is actually sending a message to the base. Can not imagine he believes this lie himself.

Romney increased fees and taxes by 700 million. There were new taxes as part of Romney care and he really liked fees.

Fees is just another word for Taxes. You have to pay both. In fact Fees are oft times far worse. If you get a ticket or minor criminal violation in Mass it cost more to prove your innocence than to just plead Guilty. Thus in Mass you are Guilty whenever a Cop says you are. Period. You must pay there is no out. You are fined no matter how innocent you are. Well the poor can have those fees reduced/eliminated. Another form of class warfare.

Loved the speech other than this. He did what was expected and really since Mitt did nothing conservative how was he supposed to say why he supports Mitt the Democrat. So I forgive him for this lie.

With a country full of apathetic, ignorant, stupid, moronic dependent moochers, etc. who get their news & information & opinions from slick papered magazines, reality TV shows & movies etc.., change is going to be HARD.

Romney/Ryan does not equal Obama.
What is the other choice? Tell me, what is it?
Gary Johnson who no one has ever heard of?
Ron Paul?
Dante, no one is going to vote for those people in large enough numbers to make anything happen but an Obama win.
I prefer 2 guys who wax hopeful about this country than a guy who clearly hates this country & seems to be deliberately trying to flush it down the toilet.
I do not think Mitt & Paul are perfect.
BUT REAGAN WASN’T EITHER.
Neither was Jefferson.
But they are ALL a damned sight better than Barack Obama who is nothing but a dirty rotten communist in socialist’s clothing.
And the more you carp on & refuse to UNITE behind the 2 guys who are the only other choice, you will doom this country to another 4 hellish years of Barack OBama & his communist agenda.
You, Sir, ARE the problem with this country.
Your change cannot happen immediately. There are too many people in this country that will find it hard to stop sucking on the govt teat & it will be a gigantic battle that will take many years to turn back toward the Constitutional LAW of the land.
It may never even ever happen.
But these 2 guys offer more hope for that happening than the Communist who is Obama.

Dante can’t use his birther arguments on Ryan.

wargamer6 on August 11, 2012 at 3:44 PM

I like the man & think he is very smart & tries to do his best for his country.

Badger40 on August 11, 2012 at 3:39 PM

Yes. They will not be swayed by lobbyists or cronies, and will cut the tremendous fat from the federal government. They will incentivize solid fiscal behavior. And the social cons should not be worried, I bet Romney will put better people on the bench than W did, and by that I mean that I’m not convinced Roberts was a good appointment.

John the Libertarian on August 11, 2012 at 3:45 PM

Paul Ryan doesn’t know what Wagyu beef is

Slade73 on August 11, 2012 at 3:41 PM

Or arugula.

CW on August 11, 2012 at 3:48 PM

But these 2 guys offer more hope for that happening than the Communist who is Obama.

Badger40 on August 11, 2012 at 3:32 PM

First of all Romney is also a Communist. Thus no change.

Secondly Ryan voted for the Union Enrichment bills. Both of them the GM screw over Republicans and enrich Union bill. Then the bail out Union workers (Stimulus) bill. Neither of these bills showed any fiscal restraint. Both showed a complete and utter lack of understanding of what works in America. Both were anti-Capitalism.

At least Obama will be contained by the House and possibly the Senate. R & R would get Republicans to help them steal even more from Americans of all income levels and give it to Government.

The answer is better the Crook we all hate than the Crook that some will vote with.

As much as this pains me to say it.

Vote for Republicans except vote for Obama. Then impeach his shinny butt.

Steveangell on August 11, 2012 at 3:49 PM

I’ve heard Paul Ryan say the word “foreign” so he might be racist. Also he’s a Packer fan, so obviously okay with a White guy running a group of Blacks on a field.

Slade73 on August 11, 2012 at 3:49 PM

Vice Presidential Debate, 2012

Moderator,”Vice Presdient Biden, would you respond to Congressman Ryan’s financial description of PPCA, otherwise known as Obamacare?”

Vice President Biden,”Sure. Well, first of all, I congratulate Congressman Ryan as Republican Vice Presidential candidate. He is, after all, a clean, articulate, young white man.

Now, to your question. There was this guy, growing up, I knew, well, I was younger, Bob, worked in the plant all his life. Heh! Now this guy, he could down three boilermakers after a twelve hour shift and still beat the pants off you at darts……….”

Game over.

Romney/Ryan = “America’s Comeback Team;” add conservative SuperPacs; and a strong dose of Tea Party – smells like…. “Victory!”

The voting public are not allowed to impeach the POTUS snd if you think for one second that the House will impeach him and the Senate will convict then you should put down the bong.
But then we all know that you are just a “1 note Willie”, so “bowl up!”

Romney is not a communist. He may be a centrist RINO, but no, after reading a lot of history on communism, I cannot conclude Mitt’s a communist. That’s silly.
Please read my response to Dante above. Bcs it holds true for you.
No one will ever impeach Obama.
Clinton was impeached & NOTHING happened.
I repeat, I understand these guys have their faults.
I personally believe it is quite possible to hold these 2 guys accountable for real true change.
But as I said earlier, your wish for real effective aggressive change is not going to happen soon.
Maybe never.
There is just too much corruption.
Look what Palin attempted to do. And look how the GOP treated her.
I admire her & can see why she has chosen the role she has.
There are not enough people who really have the stones & guts to make hard choices.
Bcs Americans are weak minded little pu$$ie$ in more numbers than they are not.
So you go ahead & vote for OBama & keep fantasizing how a majority Republican Congress will somehow make him pay.
Bcs it is never going to happen.
I do hope those fantasies keep you warm at night though,.
