Pelosi: The spirits of dead suffragettes visited me at the White House or something

posted at 4:41 pm on August 9, 2012 by Allahpundit

Deep thoughts via CNS, and not just because she evidently thinks highly enough of this lame, unimaginative anecdote (“my chair was getting crowded in”) to tell it over and over and over. She’s actually pitching it as a bona fide visitation, a quasi-mystical experience — “I swear this happened, never happened before, it never happened since” — rather than a simple metaphor for how history weighed on her as the first woman Speaker in her initial meeting with Bush. I can just imagine her speechwriters handing her a first draft with a line in there somewhere about “having a seat at the table,” Pelosi telling them that she likes it but that they need to punch it up, and them coming back to her three minutes later with the most progressive ghost story evah. And yet, no doubt there are plenty of self-styled hard-eyed skeptics in her target audience who eat this up with a spoon. Hey — if the ghost of Ted Kennedy could help her pass ObamaCare, why couldn’t Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony show up for a group high-five?

Tom Foley’s still alive, so I guess the visitation about what it feels like to lose a gigantic Democratic majority in the House will have to wait. Click the image to watch.

And she keeps getting reelected. SF can fall into the Pacific, seriously.

D-fusit on August 9, 2012 at 4:51 PM

Yup. And based on the results of the Primary election in San Francisco in June, San Francisco is going to re-elect Nancy Pelosi again in November.

Pelosi got 74.78% of the vote in the Primary in which she was running against 3 other Democrats, a Green Party member and a Ron Paul “Liberty Republican.”

http://www.sfelections.org/results/20120605/

Under California’s new “Top Two” Primary system, Pelosi will be running against the “Liberty Republican” in November. He came in second with 13.55% of the vote.

Wouldn’t it be grand having Pelousy in as Speaker of the House again?

This could happen. It all depends on how may are willing to get involved in grass roots level politics this year. Don’t expect Romney or the TEA Party people to do all of the hard work.

If not you, who?

DannoJyd on August 9, 2012 at 5:14 PM

DannoJyd is absolutely correct. If you don’t want Nancy Pelosi to be the Speaker of the House again, you need to get involved to elect as many Republicans as possible in Congressional Districts across the country.

Early voting in California begins in two months (on October 9th).

We all need to be working hard NOW to elect Republican majorities in the House and the Senate and to vote Obama out of office!

Is this the same CNN that dumped their longtime polling partner Gallup in 2007 and replaced them with a polling firm founded by a Clinton suckup?

And is this the same CNN that has always refused to disclose the D/R/I breakdowns of their polling samples?

Yes to both questions.

Lost!

Ah But in this poll they do give us some info. There were 1,010 respondents in the poll they say there were 419 Republicans or independents leaning republican.
They think we can’t do math

Internals of the new CNN “poll”…

Why are they mortally afraid to divulge their D/R/I sample breakdown?

I honestly can’t say I’m a bit surprised to read that Nancy Pelosi is hearing voices inside her head. It really does explain some things.

Del Dolemonte on August 9, 2012 at 5:27 PM

There is no party breakdown, as usual. But there may be a little unintended glimpse. On page 9, it mentioned there was 419 Republicans and Independent leaning Republicans. So out of 1010 people sampled, Republicans and leaners amounted to about 41%. Leaving others at 58%. There is no data on undecided, but those usually amount to less than 5% in most polls. So Dems and leaning Dems may be around 53%. So there may be a possible +12 Dems overweight for a +7 edge for Barry.

bayview on August 9, 2012 at 5:56 PM

bayview on August 9, 2012 at 5:56 PM

Did not round the numbers out. 419 Republicans and Leaners out of 1010 is 41.5%, and “Dem/Lean Dems/Undecided” is about 58.5%.

bayview on August 9, 2012 at 5:59 PM

Who knew spectral visitors – sent necessarily by either the Almighty or their own implacable unrest – would so neatly reflect Nancy Pelosi’s personal manias?

And who would guess that, after all this time, they would be satiated by a Speakership as short disastrous as Pelosi’s (and Obamacare hasn’t even been repealed yet)?

They’re going to poll only adults and oversample Democrats till the last 2 weeks before the election. That way it won’t affect their reliability ratings, but will allow them to do everything they can to depress Republican turnout.

Seriously, this is a demonic manifestation. Spiritual ignorance gives place to the devil, who takes full advantage. She would laugh you to scorn if you told her. Look for more bizarre behavior from the Democrat Party, because the devil owns them in every respect. Judgment Day is going to be mighty interesting, but between now and then, America is going to suffer much damage at the hands of these loons. The “experts” call it “mental illness;” actually, it’s demon possession.

Isn’t it curious that Pelosi isn’t hearing from such legendary Democratic icons such as Truman, Kennedy, not even Franklin D. himself, but has to instead settle on a couple of secondary mentionable footnotes in women’s suffrage history?

Maybe even from the Other Side, Harry, Jack, and Frank see Pelosi for what she really is, and wisely choose to have nothing to do with her!

Those who want to sway the electorate poll ’til they get the answer they paid for.

tbrickert on August 9, 2012 at 6:13 PM

The party breakdown is D 44 R 35 I 14 Refused to Identify 6.

for a +9 for Dem on first glance.

The pollster blared headline that Barry’s lead increased and Romney slipped. Barry lead increased by 4, and Romney slipped by 1
but the breakdown from the last poll was

D 42 R 38 I 18 and Refused 3

There were more Dem surveyed and fewer Republicans sampled. When one takes into account the sample change and MOE, there may actually be no change whatsoever, in the margin difference between the last poll and this new one.

The number of people who refused to answer party ID has also increased by 3%, who knows how many of those were actually Dems.

And these people who interpret polls are supposed to be trained statisticians?

If these women were alive today Pelosi and her party would have smeared them as “bitter clingers,” anti-women and “extreme.”

They were, for the most part, devout Christians who saw abortion as the ultimate exploitation of women. They would have been appalled by our culture of death and “liberated women” have become nothing more than an easy lay for me who don’t respect them and horrified by what liberals have perverted their movement into.

29Victor on August 9, 2012 at 7:21 PM

I view this as a positive development. Maybe at last Pelosi will stop making pronouncements on Catholic theology. She hasn’t taken communion for years now and she seems to be “evolving” into a pagan priestess. Hopefully she’ll stop pretending to be Catholic.

theCork on August 9, 2012 at 7:25 PM

This tape shows her advocating a belief in New Age Spiritualism.

In what way is this woman still considered a Catholic?

If she said one of a myriad of saints, I’d let it pass. Or even some nun who was involved with helping poor women. Fine. It would still be weird, but in standing with people who see Mary in a piece of toast.

But here, she’s implying the ghost of Margaret Sanger is her spiritual guide.
