Bill Burton: You’re darned right that I stand by that sleazy Super PAC ad

posted at 9:25 pm on August 8, 2012 by Allahpundit

Via Greg Hengler. I know the clip’s long but (a) the first 3:45 is just background stuff, so feel free to skip it, and (b) the rest of it represents quite possibly the most sustained bout of skepticism on cable TV towards an Obama mouthpiece that Team Hopenchange has had to endure in four years. If you can’t watch it all, just watch Burton for two or three minutes starting at 4:15. Like I said yesterday, the amazing thing about this ad isn’t that it’s so sleazy; we may yet see sleazier before November. The amazing thing is that the spot is completely devoid of any actual point or argument. The closest it comes is suggesting that layoffs are always unconscionable because people depend on the insurance they get from their jobs. But Burton can’t argue that; Obama has enough problems with business that he can’t afford to flirt with “only monsters lay people off” demagoguery. So he’s left here arguing … nothing. Really. Watch him and see if you can find a discernible point beyond the slackjawed obviousness that bad things can happen to people when they’re out of work. Thanks to the disapproving stares he gets from Blitzer and company, he ends up bending over backward to say that they’re not blaming Romney for the death of Soptic’s wife — which is sort of like Romney running an ad about unemployment and then saying Obama bears no responsibility for the economy. If the other guy’s not to blame, why does the ad exist in the first place?

Look out for Wolf’s lecture at 12:25. Remember when this was going to be a campaign about competing visions for America?

Romney is a serial murderer, who raped a group of pre-school children at a church camp, while at Bain Capital.

That attack above will be followed by the standard Romney response……crickets.

Hey Romney if you’re going to rollover for this just GIVE UP NOW and save the party the money.

“We’re not saying Mitt Romney’s culpable.,.”

“… In our ad attacking Romney in support of Obama… We just think the entire capitalist system is the culprit — it is reason for and source of everything wrong and bad about America, going back to 1776, and even before when you consider slavery. It is all the fault of people like Romney. But we are not saying it is Romney’s fault or that he is culpable. See the difference? He should not take this personally.”

In my opinion right now Americans who are not political junkies are tuned in to the the Olympics. For all practical purposes ads during the Olympics are not going to move the needle…Mr. Romney is up against the fact there are very limited funds he can spend until after the election….I think it is not a bad strategy to let Americans enjoy the Olympics, Mr. Romney is busy with big dollar fund raisers which is great during these two weeks… In my opinion a campaign can only hurt itself now…see the live hand grenade Team Obama is dealing with.

Us political junkies might be living and dying with every word and phrase…But I think the average American is tuned into the Olympics….two great examples…This past weekend was the NFL hall of fame ceremony…I seriously had no idea and I love football….This weekend is one of four golf major tournaments…I saw a show this week in which sports writers were not aware the PGA tournament is this week…

In the next week or so comes the VP announcement…the RNC Convention….then the fun begins…

DVPTexFla on August 8, 2012 at 9:49 PM

Here’s the truth of the matter…

Romney left Bain in 1999.

GST was shut down in 2001.

Soptic’s wife had her own health insurance through 2003.

Now, in 2006, she was diagnosed — diagnosed! — with very late-stage cancer.

She died 22 days after diagnosis.

And Romney killed her… nearly seven years later… right.

Every second he is talking on TV, in order to survive he must vicserally denigrate up to and past the point of personal insult whoever the bad guy is…in this case Mitt Romney. It doesnt matter what the host or interviewer is saying or asking him.

Its very scummy devious behavior and he deserves a beating, but Obama is happy as a clam to have the loyal Burton inside the WH bunker lobbing grenades like this interview at the growing number of unhappy voters camped out on the south lawn.

But when you staple that NYT hit piece into the dossierr and see the woman emotionally come apart in the video interview, you realize it was a gratuitous bag job on a young lady who has been busting her asss to chase her dream and did not need this crap from a writer who faulted her for her abundant sexuality and self-promotion.

I can’t really take down the writer, Jere Longman, because he has done credible work in his sensitive reportage some serious events in the last decade including a book on the last moments of Flight 93, but it is disappointing that he would not have been a little more uplifting. After drinking a potion of Saul Alinsky, Jeremiah Wright, Karl Marx, Bill Ayers, Benito Mussolini, King George III, King Louis XVI and his own creation, Barack Obama is transformed into the cruel, remorseless, pathological, narcissistic, misanthropic, pyromaniac (clinical reference note #1) Herr Hussein, representing the hidden side of Obama’s dual nature brought to the fore. As Barry he has many friends and, with great effort, is able to affect a pleasing personality, but as Herr Hussein he has become more and more fanatical, more and more dictatorial, more and more scape goating, makes ever longer enemies lists, encourages demonization and dehumanizing of political opponents and becomes ever more isolated and fascist like as time goes by as Herr Hussein grows in dominance. After taking this potion repetitively, he now no longer needs to rely upon it to unleash his worst inner fascist demons.

Clinical reference note #1: Such individuals who lack ulterior motive have traditionally been referred to in layman’s terms simply as a variation of a pyromaniac. Most such maniacs lack conscious motivation although they are fully aware of the acts they are failing to stop or they themselves are committing. Typically they will feel intense pleasure, gratification, or relief when causing destruction or when witnessing or participating in the aftermath. Motivation is also classified as pathological and non-pathological. Some research suggests that feeling such joy at horrific situation is pathological. Other research suggests that some motivation for this comes from rational thought. Taking joy in horrific situations for envisioned gains in political power and/or the concealment of the imposition of devious plans are examples of supposed rational decision making.

I must say in conclusion that history has repeatedly and harshly proven that elevating such a profoundly disturbed man to the highest office in any country is never a good idea. Unfortunately it is a lesson that must be learned first hand in every nation and some of those nations survive and some do not

Why do all of the Obama campaign “guys” look like cheap-suit, greasy sleazebags that you wouldn’t want to be caught dead sitting next to at a bar?

You are the one supporting politicians who are against your mother’s right to choose. You need to respect and defend your mother’s dignity against these right wing politicians.

You don’t know the meaning of the word “dignity.”

If I had been around, I would have not only marched, I would have paid so that both your mum and Maxine Waters’ mum could have had abortions.

Because they are cheap-suit, greasy sleazebags that you wouldn’t want to be caught dead sitting next to at a bar? Let’s face it: Obama’s spokesmen are perfect represntatives for their no-class, low-rent POS boss.

How anyone can dignify a woman, who willingly lies down on an operating room table with her legs in stirrups in order to murder her own unborn child, is beyond my comprehension.

GrannyDee on August 8, 2012 at 10:16 PM

It’s a liberal, GrannyDee. That’s all that needs to be said.

LOL What about our daughters’ rights? And our sons? Oh well, you probably secretly believe that some babies are too ugly to be adopted and too big a burden on society to be allowed to live. Ah, tolerance! Never mind me; go on back to smoking your bath salts.

cynccook on August 8, 2012 at 10:26 PM

We need to get back to talking about jobs and economy. We know BHO and his supporters are thugs.

The American Cancer Society is condemning this ad as shameful and condemns Obama for being heartless.

If I had been around, I would have not only marched, I would have paid so that agreed to adopt both your mum you and Maxine Waters’ mum could have had abortions and I would have taught you how to use reason and logic to guide you through life instead of the thoughtlessness and stupidity which you both currently rely so heavily upon.
