Video: Palin rallies tea partiers for Ted Cruz on eve of Texas senate primary

posted at 10:01 pm on July 27, 2012 by Allahpundit

Via C4P. If Cruz wins on Tuesday, it’ll arguably be the biggest upset that tea partiers have ever pulled. Watch this and get your game face on.

The response from David Dewhurst HQ:

https://twitter.com/TeamDewhurst/statuses/228878465485639680

And from the candidate himself:

In the interview, Dewhurst also fired back specifically at DeMint, Paul and Lee, as well as former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, who has previously endorsed Cruz.

“These are senators from South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Utah and Kentucky. With all due respect, they are from states that don’t have anywhere near the economy, state government and success that we have in Texas,” he said. “And he’s aligning himself with them over the work we’ve done here.”

Didn’t Dewhurst run several ads starring … Mike Huckabee? Hello?

That’s what I hear. I also think that Perry endorsed Dewhurst out of loyalty, like when Palin endorsed McLame.

Sarah’s real threat to liberals is that she can motivate Conservatives. The Left has no such match.

Liam on July 27, 2012 at 10:41 PM

I don’t think Sarah has the influence she did 2 years ago. She still has her core group of avid supporters, but most have moved on from her. She rubbed a lot of people the wrong way when she strung them along on her “will she run for the Presidency” game she was playing.

Huma Abedin’s Brotherhood Ties Are Not Just a Family Affair

“Senator John McCain’s claim that concerns about Huma Abedin are a smear based on “a few unspecified and unsubstantiated associations” proves more embarrassing by the day. In fact, to the extent it addressed Ms. Abedin, the letter sent to the State Department’s inspector general by five House conservatives actually understated the case.

The letter averred that Abedin “has three family members — her late father, her mother and her brother — connected to Muslim Brotherhood operatives and/or organizations.” It turns out, however, that Abedin herself is directly connected to Abdullah Omar Naseef, a major Muslim Brotherhood figure involved in the financing of al-Qaeda. Abedin worked for a number of years at the Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs as assistant editor of its journal. The IMMA was founded by Naseef, who remained active in it for decades, overlapping for several years with Abedin. Naseef was also secretary general of the Muslim World League in Saudi Arabia, perhaps the most significant Muslim Brotherhood organization in the world. In that connection, he founded the Rabita Trust, which is formally designated as a foreign terrorist organization under American law due to its support of al-Qaeda.”

You hear that John McCain and Marco Rubio? You two pieces of cowardly anti-American garbage!

Short answer, nobody knows.

Longer answer, this was Dewhurst’s race to lose. He has been working real hard to lose it. Ignoring the campaign until the run off, nasty ads and hypocritical politicking. It could go either way.

This looks to be a low turnout runoff. The phone rings all day with political calls, but we screen them and hang up, so I can’t tell you which campaigns are calling. (Just that we want them to leave us alone.) I haven’t heard real enthusiasm for anyone, but I have heard complaints about Dewhurst’s nasty ads. We’ll see if Dewhurst’s ugliness backfires on him.

That bod is ridiculous and she knows it. Todd has my respect and sympathy, because she’s dying to live it up, but really can’t push it due to leftie animus and being the target for tabloid heatseekers. She is embracing her inner reality stardom, finally. Good for her. She’ll probably be much happier in the long run.

I don’t see her running for anything again until her late 50′s. She’s got it too good right now.

And if those shades don’t come off at some point soon, like at Beck’s event, eye lifts are going to become rampant speculation.

I don’t know what his problem is with this, but he did support her previously.

sharrukin on July 28, 2012 at 12:59 AM

Funny how when Sarah Palin came to Texas to campaign for Rick Perry in his heated primary against Kay Bailey Hutchinson, we did not hear any of the “nativist” trash talk that we now hear coming from the Dewhurst campaign.

Frankly, the hypocrisy is glaring, especially as Dewhurst has paraded the support of Mike Huckabee, who the last time I checked was not from Texas.

john.frank on July 28, 2012 at 1:00 AM

Thank you Palin and DeMint! We need your support and voices in Texas. Far too long, our country has needed strong conservatives to speak out.

mobydutch on July 28, 2012 at 1:01 AM

I was one of Palin’s biggest supporters from the beginning. But if she helps Cruz win, just to show her “anti-estab” cred… she is dead to me… Apparently you didn’t get the message, Sarah – DON’T MESS WITH WITH TEXAS… it’s not your place, it’s not your privilege… I know that this is only one post of many, but you really, really need to internalize this one… your political future counts on it…

Yep, I hear tell that Ted Cruz is very upset with her over this.

He said he’d rather have no help at all, than to have her kind of “outsider help”. I think he’s going to start trying to distance himself from her.
.
Now then, do you believe any of that ?

listens2glenn on July 28, 2012 at 1:07 AM

Sigh. Sarah Palin.

Bad news!!!

The trolls won’t be joining us this evening. It seems they all swooned over NHS segment at the Olympics and haven’t recovered, yet.

I can’t imagine what shape this country would have to be in for Gov. Palin to be considered the answer. Hatred for her in the media is not something I think can be overcome. That said, why shouldn’t she support Mr. Cruz if Mr. Dewhurst has folks outside of the state endorsing him?

Marco Rubio isn’t a liberal. He isn’t a conservative. He is an opportunist.

bw222 on July 27, 2012 at 10:59 PM

That’s my thinking.

INC on July 28, 2012 at 12:18 AM

Rubio publishing his amnesty essay, where he took the Jeb Bush Oath to not be Hurtful to Illegals, was a full fleged pledge of allegiance to the Club. Especially since he did the Perry Smack Down that those who do not agree basically have no heart

Sigh. Sarah Palin.

The Rogue Tomato on July 28, 2012 at 1:19 AM

Palin is so good, no one out there currently including Rubio, can match her. She fell out of orbit almost as fast as Perot. When they disappear that fast, there was a major hammer behind the scenes

The MSM works overtimeto label Palin stupid, which she aint. She can think in paragraphs

As can ROmney, who has his own talents. He projects optimism. He uses words discretely and cleverly. He is a reassuring character. This comes from real optimism, real coherency mixed with a fast mind for survival. This is how he got elected in a lib state, and this is how he can be conservative. He focuses on satisfying the customer, within the context of his moral code. There is a value to being a Mormon, if you are serious about the faith – or being evangelical as Palin, if the faith is real

I wish the two, Govs. Romney & Palin, could calibrate enough to be beneficial to everyone. I don’t think it would take much for either of them to work towards the goal of getting rid of The Won.

Cindy Munford on July 28, 2012 at 2:31 AM

calibrate should be collaborate

Sorry!

Palin obviously digs her present job as rock star.

Sherman1864 on July 28, 2012 at 2:59 AM

Palin is such a caricature.

We need some real grownups in the conservative movement.

Cindy Munford on July 28, 2012 at 3:02 AM

I am from Texas. Ill be honest, I can’t seem to get behind Cruz. Dewhurst has done an outstanding job for Texas. Cruz just seems like a sleazy lawyer, repeating the buzzwords. “Cuz, conservative, grassroots, tea party,” etc “Dewhurst, moderate, insider, establishment” etc…

From what I can tell Dew comes from an oil business background and Cruz comes from lawyer background. I hate lawyers. I know enough about them to know there are enough in DC, they are always elitist, statist, and condescending in their views of the public at large.

Cruz will be a corrupt laughing stock. Mark my words.

Well if he wins, you better hope not. That’s not the kind of thing you get any satisfaction out of “I told you so”.
