Quotes of the day

posted at 10:46 pm on July 25, 2012 by Allahpundit

“And I confess the progress didn’t come quickly, and it did not come easily,” President Obama said about his time as a community organizer in Chicago. “Sometimes it didn’t come at all. There were times where I thought about giving up and moving on. But what kept me going day in and day out was the same thing that has sustained the Urban League all these years. The same thing that sustains all of you. And that is the belief that in America, change is always possible. That our union may not be perfect, but it is perfectible.”

“That we can strive over time, through effort and sweat and blood and tears until it is the place we imagine. It may come in fits and starts, at a pace that can be slow and frustrating, but if we are willing to push through all the doubt and the cynicism and the weariness, then yes, we can form that more perfect union,” Obama said.

Discussing his economic policies at a fundraiser in Oakland, California, last night, President Obama, told supporters that “we tried our plan — and it worked.”

“We tried that and it didn’t work,” Obama said of Mitt Romney’s proposed tax cuts and spending cuts, which he dismissed as a Bush-style “top down” economic policy. “Just like we’ve tried their plan, we tried our plan — and it worked,” he added later in the speech. “That’s the difference. That’s the choice in this election. That’s why I’m running for a second term.”

Obama made these comments in Oakland, where the unemployment rate was 13.7 percent in May 2012. The national unemployment rate is 8.2 percent — up from 8.1 percent in May — for the second straight month.

Wish I could find a knee pad song. Lolz.

Maybe no songs, but if you type that into the YT search, it pulls up some vids that could make comedy gold. Personally, I ain’t participatin’ though. :)

We need the laughs. I miss the days when Monica being under the desk was the water cooler joke. The good old days.

LOL! (Too good!) Best wishes with that!
You made me think of this girl I was crazy about. (Don’t know why, anymore…) She tried one night to get me to allow her to put makeup on me like a girl!!! I kept saying no, until the last time she tried, when I raised my voice and said, “It ain’t gonna happen!”

Needless to say, nothing ever happened between us. LOL! (I’ve made a few good choices in my life, after all.)

I switched to Firefox and added ad-block plus a few weeks ago. I haven’t seen an ad anywhere since. I also added “cool view” so you don’t have to click on links to see what they are about, a little box pops up instead. It’s faster than IE if that is what you are using now.

Flora Duh on July 26, 2012 at 7:54 AM

What a surprise! He’s not the only one though. I bet there are a lot of people this election who know deep down that another Obama term would be a disaster, but they are on the left so they think it’s more important to win than to do what is right for the country. Those people are contemptible.

cmsinaz on July 26, 2012 at 8:05 AM

Morning all, totally OT ~ I just got a notice that my Medical Loss Patio(MLR) per the Affordable *cough* Care Act exceeded the required MLR. My private insurance is required by law to send me this notice saying there will not be a rebate because the MLR was met or exceeded. WTH? What a waste of time and money.

“But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”

I don’t usually hate someone but when I do, it is with very good reason.

I would never kill 100 humming birds just for an omelet.

Night Owl on July 26, 2012 at 8:45 AM

What does that mean?

Cindy Munford on July 26, 2012 at 8:22 AM

There are so many rules and regulations tucked in ObamaCare they are going to be driving insurers into the ground to comply.

The MLR rule is also called the 80/20 rule.

“If a health insurer does not spend at least 80% of the premiums it receives on health care services and activities to improve health care quality, the insurer must rebate the difference.

A health insurer’s MLR is determined separatedly for each State’s individual, small group and large group markets…”

They have until August 1, 2012 to send out rebates for 2011. What a clusterfark for insurers.

How this helps people receive medical care is beyond me.

Great, more paperwork. I don’t know if everyone has had the thrill of trying to match up insurance paper work to doctor’s invoices but I don’t need anymore challenges. Also, won’t it be tough for insurers to stay within that 20% administrative envelope if they have to hire people to keep track of more stupidity?

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush thinks Sen. Marco Rubio is ready to be vice president and he shared those thoughts with presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney, he said Wednesday.

Read more here: http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/07/25/2912321/jeb-bush-wants-rubio-for-vp.html#storylink=cpy

It figures Jeb Bush would be pushing his choice. I haven’t been fond of Rubio even before he joined McCain and others attacking Bachmann over the “brotherhood”. Now, I don’t like him at all. Cowards all that signed on to this attack.

I guess he figures if enough people don’t know which end is up he’ll win by default… Wake up America.
