It’s the same country that’s counting on the guy who got the ball rolling on the Affordable Care Act to sign a repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Take from that what you will.

They do, but if they claim it was really high I guess 8.2 sounds good.

Obama ran for president & accepted the oath of Office. No one is forcing him to run a 2nd term.

Impatient, he began wrestling with the tree, much to our amusement. After about five minutes he had been pinned multiple times by the tree. He finally jumped up in frustration and yelled, “Don’t just sit there and watch me tear it up! Come help me!”

We all thought he was doing a pretty good job of tearing it up on his own.

I think that’s Obama’s attitude. “Don’t just sit there and watch me wreck the country. Come help.”

Unemployment was 6.5% in October 2008. The biggest jump was between the election and Obama’s inauguration. Could it be that many business owners were smart enough to read the tea leaves and see an administration hostile to business was going to take over, so they shed jobs? Nah, that’s just not possible. Everyone knew Obama was going to cut the deficit and get the economy moving again — just like he said.

I didn’t see Bush and GOP using that line in 2004 when we were still recovering from the internet bubble recession . . . oh, wait, they didn’t need to because they pulled us out of that recession AND kept 9/11 from making it worse . . .

Start packing the linens, Zero. Time for someone else to get the job done.

Yes, the upswing on the deficits started under George W. Bush — most especially the last two years of his presidency, when the Democrats were in full control of Congress. And yes, the bad economic news began before Obama’s time — but President Obama has managed to get plenty of legislation through (i.e., bailouts, ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank, etcetera) and implemented plenty of policy through the executive branch. We are now three and half years into his presidency, but the economy doesn’t seem to do much except fluctuate between marginal gains and losses. How long are we expected to wait for results?

Once A recession is coincidence a natural cycle of capitalism.

Twice A depression is enemy government action.

Moreover, the House has passed multiple jobs bills which Harry Reid’s Senate has blocked, so boo hoo hoo Congressman Waxman, who exactly is it who is obstructing an economic recovery?

now the Republicans are trying to blame it on President Obama. They say he hasn’t done enough, but they don’t help him get anything done — they stop him from any of his efforts.

Uh huh, there are about three dozen bills passed by the Republican House, all ignored by Senate Majority Obstructionist Harry Reidiculous, whose Senate has now gone 1,161 days or 3 years, 2 months, and 4 days of failing to pass a budget–talk about someone who doesn’t help anything–and last time I looked Sen. Reidiculous was not a Republican, but rather a hopelessly entrenched deadbeat liberal Doom.

The economy has not recovered — some people call it a recession, I think it’s a depression.

Recession and depression are specifically defined terms.

We are currently not in either. The economy is currently growing less than 2% per year after a steep downturn – which sucks.

2% is basically what’s required in order to avoid growing unemployment. When the economy grows less than 2%, productivity gains via innovation usually wipes out any new jobs that would have otherwise been created.
