Hot Air Survey: Vice Presidential Results

posted at 12:16 pm on June 23, 2012 by Patrick Ishmael

After a long run at the top, Marco Rubio has been overtaken by Bobby Jindal as Hot Air’s pick for vice president. Allen West came in third, followed by Paul Ryan and Condoleezza Rice. Over 2300 votes were cast:

How likely do readers think it is that Mitt Romney will win? Pretty darn likely, actually, to the tune of about a 73% chance overall.

And with how many electoral votes? The average, mode, and median EV predictions all hover right around 300. That’d be a very big win.

Also, the survey’s demographics have remained remarkably consistent over time; the number of voters over age fifty was roughly the same as the number of voters under fifty, and the gender breakdown was again right about 70-30 men-to-women. That’s all pretty standard for Hot Air surveys.

If you’re interested in mining specific stats (the original post is still live,) message me on Twitter and I’ll try to help you out.

Thanks for participating. These are always fun.

Isn’t it funny how this progressive tolerant person can’t even notice their own racism.

Jindal is an American. Why you so focused on the color of his skin, the ethnic heritage of his family?

I prefer to listen to what he has to say, and examine his actions in public office rather than make huge assumptions based on his skin color. Same with our “composite” phony President.

Martin Luther King would not approve, not at all.

Of all the people in America, a challenge to Constitutional eligiblity is the best that people ostensibly on the right can do? Like I said, I like Jindal. I think he’s a great guy. Hannity–whom I can barely stomach–had a nice hour on Rubio last night. I think I like him a lot, but I’d rather that he stay in the Senate for another cycle or two. I’m pretty confident he’ll be president by, say, 2020.

In the meantime, he needs to get his wife some camera training. I think she was a Dolphins cheerleader; she’s certainly attractive. I’ll bet she’s a good mother–the four kids were adorable. I liked the boy who’d wave to the camera, and the younger brother who crapped out and took a nap in the studio audience. But Rubio’s wife needs some training because her incessant “you knows” and loss of train of thought aren’t helpful. She ain’t no Ann Romney–yet.

Anyway, I’d be happy with Jindal. Lousiana can find someone else to keep itself clean.

Portman is hated here, but I think he’s near the top of the list. I’d rather keep him as an Ohio senator because we Ohioans have such a short bench that we can’t even field a candidate who can punch out Sherrod Brown’s lights in November. If Portman gets the nod and Romney-Portman prevails, I shudder to think who we’ll get as a replacement.

That said, if it’s between Portman and Pawlenty, I don’t want Pawlenty. Pawlenty would be bad for the ticket.

BuckeyeSam on June 23, 2012 at 12:49 PM

Rubio hates Americans?

NextGenerationVoters on June 23, 2012 at 12:45 PM

Those of us who want the Rule of Law and our sovereignty maintained. Yes. Haven’t you been following the news? We’re “raaaacists” to Marxist Rubio who thinks that we welcome Canadians without checking any laws but are only nasty to the poor Spanish-speakers … because we’re “raaaacists”!

It sure sounds like hate to me, but maybe you agree with him that most of America are racists and h8trs?

ThePrimordialOrderedPair on June 23, 2012 at 12:50 PM

So you agree the middle class is unfairly being targeted because the republicans have fully exempted their upper 1% bosses from contributing their fair share. Good to know we can agree on that.

Uppereastside on June 23, 2012 at 12:45 PM

…SHUT UP!…you’re dumber than dog doo!

KOOLAID2 on June 23, 2012 at 12:50 PM

I guess we should expect more jobs going to india if Jindal becomes VP? Time to start applying for that Indian work permit I’ve always been thinking about.

Uppereastside on June 23, 2012 at 12:25 PM

And libs think we’re the ones who are racists….

goflyers on June 23, 2012 at 12:51 PM

Mr. Sun on June 23, 2012 at 12:52 PM

Maybe someone can educate the rest of us by showing where in the Constitution it indicates that Jindal and Rubio are not eligible because this constant birther crap is making us look batshit crazy.

LawnGnomeFanFirst on June 23, 2012 at 12:52 PM

Joe Biden would love to go to Bobby Jindal’s 7-11, right UES?

So you agree Sketch is done. I knew it was only a matter of time before that fact starts sinking into this new republican party’s head.

Maybe Romney will see that Rubio is radioactive to the conservative base.

TxAnn56 on June 23, 2012 at 12:48 PM

We nominated Romney, architect of Obamacare, supporter of cap and trade, prior supporter of amensty, pro choice, and pro gun control. I think that’s pretty toxic.

Rubio supports e-verify, securing the border, supports Arizona’s right to enforce SB 1070, and he’s toxic because he doesn’t want to deport every single illegal alien? Does Romney?

El_Terrible on June 23, 2012 at 12:53 PM

I doubt I’ll take these poll results very serious. Google Docs was obviously having some issues and after numerous attempts over the course of the day I was never able to access the poll, just a big blank white area where it was supposed to be.

Do you believe The Govenator is eligible to become preezy? Why or why not?

Uppereastside on June 23, 2012 at 12:45 PM

Uh, no. Did I say anything like that?

When the taxes are raised, which they will be, it won’t be just your hated “one percent” who feel it. Maybe at first, because it can be sold with Marxist class warfare rhetoric and 2-minute hate demonization campaigns, but it won’t be enough even if you tax those people at %100. That doesn’t even consider the economic harm to the middle class by the wealthy changing their investment and spending behaviors in reaction to the persecution by the government.

The real money is further down the economic ladder, and these people in Washington know it full well. The middle class will bear the burden of Obama’s “fundamental transformation”, it is inevitable. His people know it right now, and they are willingly lying to everyone until the time is right to exploit the latest emergency crisis and get their tax hikes passed.

You position is a fraud, a scam from the start.

I voted for West and have every time Patrick has put up a poll. IT has ZERO to do with the shade of West’s skin, Period!

BTW, that goes for Jindal and Rubio also!

Hit the DELETE AND BAN button on Uppereastbutt to test if it really works.

Jindal’s resume is outstanding. Anyone who thinks him a rookie is ignorant of his background.
