Obama’s 28 star-studded fundraisers… so far

posted at 6:01 pm on June 7, 2012 by Erika Johnsen

Yeahhh, so… you know how Democrats are all up-in-arms about political contributions after Wisconsin, because people with abnormal amounts of money are ostensibly able to hold undue influence in the political realm? And you know how President Obama dislikes the decadent antics of wealthy fat cats?

About that.

Based on an analysis of the president’s calendar and news reports, President Obama and/or First Lady Michelle Obama have held over 25 fundraisers featuring Hollywood actors, producers, or singers. …

1.  June 13, 2011:  Michelle Obama attends fundraiser in Westwood California, featuring actors Ryan Phillippe, and actresses Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, Drew Barrymore and Vanessa Williams. …

5.   Sept. 25, 2011: Obama attends fundraiser hosted by Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg in Atherton, Calif.. Singer Lady Gaga attends the event. Tickets cost $35800 per person. …

7.   October 24, 2011: Obama attends fundraiser dinner at the home of Hitch producer James Lassiter, in Los Angeles co-hosted by actors Will and Jada Pinkett Smith; Tickets sell for $35,800. …

17. March 16, 2012: President Obama attends Atlanta, Georgia fundraiser attended by Oprah Winfrey at the home of Tyler Perry. Tickets are $35,800 each. …

23. June 4, 2012: Bon Jovi gets a ride on Air Force One to New York City; attends fundraiser with President Obama and former President Clinton. Tickets range from $2,500 to $35,800.

And the list goes on. Just sayin’.

Again, just like how our ads are “divisive” but theirs are “informative”, it’s about liberals suppressing the opposition because they are “morally superior” because they want to help people.

When you are losing the arguments you attack the people making them.

No lie, folks. At 10:37 am Election Day, 2008, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution posted an item on their website that read “As you read this, Barack Obama is probably winning the race in Georgia.”

Well, that’s obviously what Cynthia Tucker and all the other lefties at the AJC wanted. What actually happened is Obama lost here by 204,000 votes. He actually did better against McCain in Arizona!

This is exactly the democracy the Founders envisioned apparently. If you’re not alligned with billionaires is there even a point of running for office anymore?

It’s shameful to see you admit it’s okay for corrupt billionaires to buy a politician as long as its one you support. Shame on you.

Tickets cost $35800 per person. …

Whats the deal with that amount? Each fund raiser had that amount. Is that some obscure maximum per person tribute or something?

Let them waste their money on him. Us regular folks will vote this clown out in November. All they will have accomplished is cutting down the time I’ve wasted watching their TV shows and movies.

Johnnyreb on June 7, 2012 at 7:03 PM

.
Here is what I found at this site; it’s a good start and may be the whole explanation.
.

Of that $35,800, $5,000 went to Obama’s presidential campaign, $2,500 for his hard-fought Democratic primary campaign (guess who’s going to win?), and $2,500 for the fall campaign. The other $30,800 went to the Democratic National Committee, which will spend much of it getting Obama re-elected next year.

And the annual maximum a person can give to a political party committee? Why, $30,800, of course.

Two shows daily! Six shows on friday!

I still want to know what his campaign burn rate is. This pace has to be taking a toll.

ERIKA!

I realize these are the Celebrity Soirees. But the calendar is bereft of all of he fundraising efforts this POTUS has occuppied his tie with. As an example, what about the SIX on 1 June 2012 — the day of the stinkeroo jobs numbers?

Anyone know of such a list? It’d sure mare for some great documentation.

President Obama and his entourage blocked several city streets and sidewalks in San Francisco for hours yesterday during his 16th fundraising trip to California.

The TEA Party was out in force to greet him in San Francisco, as were other protest groups who don’t think Obama is liberal enough.

Outside, hundreds of people lined the streets to protest the president’s visit, waving signs and chanting as his motorcade drove to his lunch inside the Merchants Exchange building.

The protesters included a large contingent of Bay Area Tea Party Patriots and members of a group opposing oil drilling in the Arctic, some of them dressed as polar bears.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2012/06/06/BA2K1OTQ4N.DTL

If you want a sign of hope for change in November, look at the comments on the article linked above.

Even in San Francisco, President Obama is not as popular as he thinks he is.

I hope the President receives a big TEA Party welcome at all of his fundraising stops!

wren on June 7, 2012 at 8:10 PM

For another sign that President Obama is not as popular as he thinks he is, take a look at the election results from San Francisco for Tuesday’s Primary Election.

http://www.sfelections.org/results/20120605/

As of June 7th (ballots are still being counted so the numbers will continue to change until the final results are certified),

83,853 Democrats voted in the Primary.

10,782 additional voters with No Party Preference voted using a Democrat ballot.

So a total of 94,635 voters used the Democrat ballot.

Barack Obama was the only Presidential candidate on the Democrat ballot.

Barack Obama only received 44,137 votes.

Why didn’t the other 50,498 voters who used the Democrat ballot vote for Barack Obama?

If Obama didn’t get more than half of the Democrat votes IN SAN FRANCISCO, Obama’s campaign is in more trouble than we thought!

wren on June 7, 2012 at 8:10 PM

Yep, little Bammie favorables look like about 3/100. That’s brutal. I’ve seen that on Yahoo News as well which used to be a reliably liberal audience.

slickwillie2001 on June 7, 2012 at 8:43 PM

It’s disgusting!! This is not a President. He degrades the office and in Nov. Obama and the Royal family can move to Hollywood and party without the taxpayers paying for his fun.
