McCain: Top-secret leaks coming from “highest levels” of White House

posted at 1:21 pm on June 6, 2012 by Ed Morrissey

Two top figures in the US Senate — a Republican and a Democrat — have now spoken out publicly in frustration with continued leaks out of the Obama administration of “the most highly classified information.”  John McCain spoke to CBS News and got a rather skeptical reaction from the host, who quoted the New York Times’ David Sanger as saying the leaks didn’t start at the White House.  McCain insists that the White House confirmed information that exposed ongoing operations — and did so to make Barack Obama look good:

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Wednesday blasted the Obama administration over the disclosure of classified intelligence operations, leaks he said came from the “highest levels” at the White House.

“This is the most highly classified information and it’s now been leaked by the administration at the highest levels at the White House and that’s not acceptable,” McCain said on CBS This Morning. …

McCain suggested that the administration was leaking the information, which he called a “breach of national security” to bolster Obama’s foreign policy credentials ahead of November’s election.

“It makes the president look very decisive,” McCain said, “and it gives very little credit to the other men and women who make these things happen.”

“This puts American lives in danger, revealing our most highly classified operations both in cyberwar and in drones,” he said.

While CBS News treated McCain’s allegations with skepticism, Dianne Feinstein seconded McCain’s concerns about the leaks, if not the origins:

The Democratic chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday expressed worry that leaks to press about a cyberattack on Iran authorized by the Obama administration could lead to a counter-attack on the U.S.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) joined other senior Senate Democrats in expressing serious concerns about the leak, which detailed a cyberattack intended to harm Iran’s nuclear program. Some Republicans argue the information was leaked to help President Obama’s re-election campaign. …

“A number of those leaks, and others in the last months about drone activities and other activities are frankly all against national security interests,” said Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee. “I think they’re dangerous, damaging, and whoever is doing that is not acting in the interest of the United States of America.”

Feinstein and Kerry, however, rejected Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) charge that the leaks were politically motivated to boost President Obama’s image.

Well, where would that information have leaked — and more importantly, been confirmed?  Even Sanger notes that he got confirmation from “current US officials,” and the nature of the story certainly played up Obama’s personal role in the decisions, even when he didn’t make the decisions himself.  The spin in Sanger’s story either came from Sanger himself or his sources, and I’d bet that McCain’s closer to the mark than Feinstein, Kerry, and CBS News in this case.

McCain and leaks in the same sentence…the incontinent of the brain and pants should just go home. It is very indecent that the good people of AZ were fooled once more. It was high time for him to retire with a smidgeon of decency, alas….he’ll advocate for war in Sirya, lots of dead, for nothing other than more muzzie brotherhood.

Feinstein and Kerry, however, rejected Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) charge that the leaks were politically motivated to boost President Obama’s image.

So, if it’s not for political purpose to help Obama, then they believe there is a traitor in the Obama administration that is purposely trying to damage the interests of the United States of America?

So they put Private Manning in jail for what exactly?

The White House treats a security clearance as a joke, at the same time they hammer military members who do far, far less.

Not to mention, military members are kicked out for less than the “Choom Gang” celebrated.

Complete lack of leadership.

Now leaking can get you some good press, but it can’t be dressed up as serving a legitimate purpose. That is why it is leaked, instead of issued in a press conference, you idiots. What good is it to be in charge of national security if you can’t exploit it to get reelected?

Yesterday at a private briefing a very connected and senior Israeli military intelligence officer struggled to stay within his diplomatic bounds while making clear that any discussion or leaks related to the cyberwar against Iran were reckless and damaging. He also said there will be another round coming, soon, specifically in the WaPo.

Just what has become typical outrageous behavior here. Yes, Brennan is vile – and an idiot – but a good indicator of a larger problem. This “administration” is packed with unfit folks of low character who have no business close to any responsible job, but beyond that there is the collapse in ethics and professionalism in the Beltway generally.

Recall the catastrophic – and criminal – disclosures of two large ongoing surveillance programs in the Bush years? And the non-stop – and jaw-droppingly stupid – “leaks” of “assessments” by intel types that were breathlessly reported on the front pages of the “elite” media publications. The idiotic NIE on Iran’s nuke program? This all came from career people. The intellect and character of many senior intelligence careerists are disastrously poor. As on so many things, Bush’s deference to these unworthy and dangerous people was a huge blunder.

What we’re seeing here is only worse because of the unprecedented low ability and character of political appointees and chief executive. There is a permanent, ongoing problem that will outlive Bambi’s brief and disastrous reign.

That was not what happened with Bush 43, and the career political bureaucrats had no reason to accept that the tide they roll along in had been stemmed. I don’t think Romney is going to administer such a defeat either. But as long as the truth can still get out and be compelling to people’s minds, their defeat is coming.

Bill Ayers on his blog September 10, 2008:

“The end of an empire is messy at best….

and this one is ending like all the rest.” Randy Newman

That was the day before the 7th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, and less than 2 months before the election of Barack Hussein Obama to the Presidency.

The same Barack Hussein Obama who said that he shares his life’s journey with all who have ever sought to bring an empire to its knees…

Barack Hussein Obama on June 23, 2007:

But my journey is part of a larger journey- one shared by all who’ve ever sought to apply the values of their faith to our society. It’s a journey that takes us back to our nation’s founding, when none other than a UCC church inspired the Boston Tea Party and helped bring an Empire to its knees.

Who else wants to bring the U.S. “Empire” to its knees?
The Communist Party USA:

With Marxism-Leninism guiding our actions, the Communist Party strives to build the broadest unity against global capitalist imperialism now headed by U.S. imperialism, for immediate gains and reforms that benefit working people, and for a progressive democratization of the government, the economy, and society of our country on the road to and after winning socialism.

Hear, hear! McShame bears a great deal of responsibility for the America-hater getting into the White House and exposing American secrets to him and his junta of maoists, marxists, and all-around America-haters.

I can’t believe McShame didn’t even have the integrity to leave the Senate after that blow he dealt against America. Unreal. I wonder if Johnny-boy understands what a despicable place in history he has earned himself? Probably not. He ain’t too smart.

As to the America-hater in the White House, he’s been rending the Constitution and committing criminal acts since the 2008 campaign (when he held his largest political rally in a friggin foreign nation … for friggin foreigners!) and has continued such since sliming into the White House (thanks in good part to McShame). But … we all just watch him do irreparable damage to this nation (which now has declared that empathy is a legitimate main qualification for a judge or ruling, in direct opposition to the foundation of Western jurisprudence for over three thousand years) and then get to watch these cowards on the Hill make grumbling noises that they refuse to back up with action of any sort.

And this isn’t even close to the first time that the White House and DoJ have exposed our secrets and done damage to our national security to move their political objectives (America, Fundamentally Deformed and killed). Not even close.

Pathetic.

Well no Shit Mack!!. You let the Enemy walk right on in..

While the news media continue its Egyptian-uprising coverage, most of the denizens of U.S. newsrooms are turning a blind eye to President Barack Obama’s connection to a key player in the Egyptian rebellion: the radical Islamic group known as the Muslim Brotherhood which co-sponsored last year’s disasterous “Gaza Aid Flotilla.”

While the world condemned the actions of the Israeli military, calls for an international body to investigate the Gaza flotilla raid by Israeli forces — in which nine “peace activists” were killed — were clouded by political posturing and vitriolic soundbites, according to some U.S. counterterrorism experts.

Even President Obama proposed an independent inquiry into the incident that triggered worldwide condemnation of Israel especially by members of the elite news media, but his proposal was quickly dropped as information came to light that certain individuals close to him and the Democrat Party were involved in the bloody incident.

Israel maintained a blockade around Gaza for quite sometime with the hope to preventing weapons such as missiles and rockets from being smuggled to the Palestinian terrorists. It was decided by a number of Islamists and radicals to take actions that would ultimately end the blockade.

The organizer of the blockade-busting action was a known radical group called Free Gaza. The “Free Gaza” flotilla was far more than a collection of innocent “peace activists” trying to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza, as they were portrayed by most news organizations.

Free Gaza sponsored the flotilla that engaged in deadly clashes with Israeli special forces troops and among its members were Weather Underground founders William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn — who perpetrated a series of terrorist attacks — as well as Jodie Evans, the leader of the radical activist organization Code Pink. Besides the U.S. radicals, Islamic groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah and Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood contributed to the flotilla.

As is well-known in the United States, Ayers and Dohrn were close associates of President Obama for years in Chicago. Meanwhile, Jodie Evans was a fundraiser and financial bundler for Obama’s presidential campaign. In fact, one of Obama’s fundraisers was held in the home of Ayers and Dohrn.

Evans later worked on Attorney General Jerry Brown’s successful run for the governorship of California.

“Ayers’ and Dohrn’s continued activities appear to elude the attention of the people responsible for reporting the news without bias. They are terrorists, plain and simple, so why would anyone be surprised to discover their connection to an anti-Semitic organization that supports terror groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brother and even al-Qaeda?” asks former New York Police detective Michael Snopes.

The passengers reportedly included 100-plus members of various Muslim Brotherhood chapters, at least 20 of whom taped al Qaeda-style “martyr” videos before embarking on their anti-Israel mission, according to terrorist expert Steve Emerson, founder of The Investigative Project on Terrorism

According to Emerson’s IPT investigation, the chief organizers had more than “peaceful” intentions for the flotilla.

The respected Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) reported that a Gaza-based Hamas leader declared three days before the voyage started that the captain of the [Gaza Flotilla] ship had told him: “We will not allow the Zionists to come near us, and we will wage resistance against them.”

Meanwhile, Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ) responded to ongoing criticism of Israel following the incident near Gaza where Israeli Defense Forces personnel engaged the flotilla of six ships attempting to overrun an Israeli naval blockade.

Rep. Franks cited reports indicating that individuals on board the ships were carrying weapons and attacked Israeli soldiers as they were trying to stop the advance of the flotilla. The blockade exists to keep the terrorist organization Hamas, which has routinely launched attacks against innocent Israeli citizens, from supplying its forces with weapons and other materials while allowing necessary humanitarian supplies to reach those living in Gaza, Franks stated.

“The conflict that took place aboard the Turkish flotilla was a completely unnecessary and deliberate attempt to provoke Israel to action. The Gaza blockade was put into place in an attempt to prevent Hamas from continuing to use the Gaza strip as a launching pad for literally thousands and thousands of rockets fired into innocent Israeli citizen populations. Humanitarian shipments into Gaza are routinely used to smuggle weapons and other dangerous materials into Gaza for Hamas,” said Congressman Franks.

“The United States must maintain a strong position of support for Israel as the U.N. once again tries to make them a punching bag for the rest of the world. The Obama Administration must also commit to vetoing any resolution from U.N. Organizations like the Security Council or the Human Rights Council that would condemn Israel and encourage the terrorist groups who provoked the raid,” said the Arizona lawmaker.

Obama supporters in the midst of discussion regarding the current Egyptian civil unrest are claiming that
the Muslim Brotherhood is not a terrorist organization and that its members are not major players in the Egyptian protests and uprising. They also claim there are no connections between the Obama administration and radical Islamists such as the Muslim Brotherhood, in spite of the activities of Ayers, Dohrn and Evans, who are known associates of the U.S. President.

“If the House Republicans, who are now the majority, wish to investigate the current administration and its abysmal performance on national security incidents, they should start with the President’s relationship with far-left radicals and Islamic fascists,”

Radical Muslims are looking for ways to bring sharia law to the United States. Hear this report about the organizations CAIR , the Muslim Brotherhood and a new book “Stealth Jihad” by Islam expert Robert Spencer.

ex-CIA Agent Reveals: “Muslim Brotherhood” has infiltrated Obama Administration

Islamist-allied operatives appointed by Obama are undermining U.S. security policy – explains counter-Intelligence expert, Prof. Clare Lopez. Aimed at co-opting Americas foreign policy in the Middle East, a network including well-known American diplomats, congressional representatives, figures from academia and the think tank world – with ties to the clerical regime in Tehran – is directing the Obama Administration’s policy towards the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Middle East.

Obama, Clinton, Piven, Ayers, Dohrn and Soros behind Middle East Meltdown

Aside from the systemic government waste of private resources the world over, why is the entire free world in economic collapse while the entire Middle East is in total meltdown, promising to place the most dangerous region of the globe under radical Islamic rule?

And with every western nation on economic suicide watch, is it a coincidence that the Middle East is imploding at just the moment in history when it could force every free nation to live under the boot of international Marxists?

Such massive seismic shifts in world power structure are never a coincidence. If you keep digging, sooner or later, you will find those responsible. In this case, it is Barack Obama – Bill and Hillary Clinton – their old friends Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn and their friendly economic wrecking ball, George Soros.

The Beginning
President Bill Clinton welcomed PLO terrorist Yasser Arafat to the White House and began an assault on U.S. ally Israel as a known Palestinian terrorist leader partied with Bill and Hillary Clinton. The events that followed would include renewed terror strikes on Israeli soil and the Clinton form of democracy rising up in the Palestinian territories.

The Palestinian people democratically elected world-renowned terror organization Hamas to lead their new government and the peace process was forever ended.

The Bush era War on Terror put every terror organization on earth on the run, in response to the 9/11 attacks on the U.S. Terror organizations fled from country to country, jumping in and out of confrontations with U.S. led forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. This operation made it very difficult for terror organizations to settle in one spot and regain a foothold almost anywhere on earth.

But when Barack Obama took office in January 2009, calling a worldwide end to Bush’s “War on Terror,” these regimes were able to quickly reconstitute and set up operations throughout the Middle East.

Since then, Tunisia has collapsed and is soon to be controlled by terror organization Al Qaeda and the Tunisian Islamist Party, led by founder Rachid Ghannouchi, the so-called democrat of Islam. Those who know the Quran know that there is nothing democratic about Islam, just like there is nothing democratic about socialism.

Lebanon has fallen to Islamic terror organization Hezbollah. Yemen, site of the Al Qaeda attack on the USS Cole on Bill Clinton’s watch, in which 17 American soldiers were killed, is today an operational center for Al Qaeda, among other terror groups and Marxist regimes.

As Human Events chronicles, “There is a rebellion in the north with Iran-sponsored Shia radicals, and a Marxist succession movement in the south. Part of the country is also controlled by an al Qaeda affiliate in the southwestern corner of the Arabian Peninsula. Yemen is strategically important to the U.S. as an ally because al Qaeda has made it a base of operations.”

Today
Like the Palestinian territory, Tunisia, Yemen and Lebanon, Egypt is under assault and about to collapse into the arms of yet another Islamic terror group, the Muslim Brotherhood. This is community organizing at its best, folks…

Jordan and other Arab nations in the region are rushing to replace their own regimes before Islamic terror groups ignite a protest for so-called democracy against their governments. They all see the writing on the wall, as President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton cut pro-west dictators loose across the Middle East, and allow terror organizations to claim control of their governments.

Some claim that this is out of gross ignorance and inept policies in the Obama administration, asserting that Obama and Clinton are simply “totally clueless” in managing foreign policy and international affairs. I too, believe that both Obama and Clinton are in way over their heads, as should be expected from politicians with otherwise blank resumes void of achievement, particularly from the teleprompter-in-chief.

But what about the people who pull their puppet strings? Do they know what they are doing?

The Common Thread
Not so fast… there is a common thread running through all of these unlikely events. The following people have been traveling in and out of these countries, busily “community organizing” for years, but in particular, the weeks preceding the protests and sudden collapse of these governments.

■The Clintons
■Barack Obama
■William Ayers
■Bernadine Dohrn
■Frances Fox Piven
■Brzezinski
■George Soros & Co.
■Code Pink
In other words, behind the fall of pro-west Arab governments is alleged democracy protests, led by college aged kids, just like most progressive protests in the US and Europe. Behind those protesters in the Middle East stands an Islamic terror organization ready to seize political power… and behind those terror organizations, we find the individuals named above, all of whom were behind the election of Barack Hussein Obama in the United States.

International Marxists behind the Obama regime are also behind the Middle East meltdown. Clinton and Obama claim that these protests are nothing more than democracy seeking youths tired of economic strife and ready for “change.”

If this is true, then why is every nation being taken over by radical Islamic terror regimes, which have more than a thousand years of tyrannical history of being the most brutally undemocratic leaders on earth?

And if this is an organic uprising within the populations of these countries, why are these uprisings led by the same domestic Marxists leading the socialist revolution in America?

Last and Most Importantly
What is the purpose of this clear strategy to destroy and depose pro-western Arab regimes, led by American democratic socialists?

With nearly 15% of U.S. oil imports coming from the Arab counties, and Obama-Clinton throwing every pro-west Arab government under the bus and putting Islamic terror regimes in charge of the oil from that region, what should we expect next?

Clearly, the events unfolding in the Middle East were planned and ignited by pro-Obama forces here in the U.S. and abroad. It is not organic, and the only manner in which it relates to democracy is as Karl Marx said – Democracy is the road to socialism!

Never let a good crisis go to waste, especially when you work so hard to create the crisis. This is the ideology of Obama, Clinton, Piven, Ayers, Dohrn, Soros and all of their fans.

What happens when the U.S. is cut off from Arab oil?

Can the shaky U.S. economy take another major blow like sky rocketing gas prices?

And why did Obama agree to sell British weapons secrets to Russia in return for a new Start Treaty that is not in the best interest of the U.S.?

Why is Obama-Clinton alienating every American ally in the world?

And when will the American people have seen enough?

We are sorry about Obama World.

Friends of America,

Our President has become entirely unhinged and he is currently completely out of control. He has personally fanned the very flames which will eventually ignite the entire world in a raging inferno of Jihad. His rhetoric concerning Islam, Egypt and the greater Middle East is a violation of all rational thought and crime against intellectual honestly.

Obama’s betrayal of the British people and associated “deal” to disclose information relating to the UK’s nuclear deterrent is abhorrent and violates everything the United States of America believes in. His complete desertion of Israel and reckless disregard for the safety of the Israeli population is a dishonor that will eternally rank as of one the most egregious in American history.

He began his blatant disregard for the wishes and values of America immediately upon his election and unfortunately his belligerency has only worsened since that time. He is a total failure and wholly incompetent. We can only apologize and assure you he is not acting with the support of right thinking Americans.

Clearly, it’s against logic, reason and better judgement to continue listening to anything he says.Common sense dictates that following him into anything is inarguably a fools errand. His assinine policies and juvenile outlook on the world are clear and present dangers to freedom and stability across the entire globe. He has done enough damage to us all.

Please stop listening to him and demand that he resigns before the entire world is in chaos and there is nothing left worth saving.

Ya know how it was noted during the election that Obama wouldn’t be able to get security clearance for classified information? Think that has any bearing on the current situation?
Isn’t this a good enough reason to throw the bastard out in November, as if the economy, jobs and energy weren’t enough?

McCain’s right about this one.

McCain’s right almost all of the time.

But the knee-jerk fools in the HotAir comment section venting above wouldn’t know an ally from an alley-oop.

Whuh oh. McCain coming dangerously close to criticizing the president, something he avoided doing back when, y’know, he ran for the job.

Kudos for speaking out but he had his chance to do something to stifle Democrats giving away the store to tyrannies, which didn’t start with Obama. It’s a tradition since FDR. Iran nukes, ChiCom aggressive Pacific expansionism and weapons refinement (thanks to the ClinGore-Buddhist monk connection), Putinism, Argentina, operational data to Hollywood directors, the surrendering of the next key strategic theater, Earth orbit, to the Rooskis and, oh yes, China, etc etc., can all be cross-filed in a folder labeled with two words, “suspended campaign”.

Actually, can’t say the Obama 2008 margin of victory wouldn’t have been bigger if McCain hadn’t suspended his Dole-like campaign. Whatevs. We’re looking at the here and now and, food for thought to you Romney-resisters, I was one of your number during the primaries (though, registered unaffiliated). If the Obamians get another four years who can doubt that there will be Chinese drones over Oahu. Four years is a lot of secrets. This is no drill.
