NARN, the Total Non-Recall Edition, with special guest Gov. Scott Walker

posted at 12:01 pm on June 2, 2012 by Ed Morrissey

The Northern Alliance Radio Network will be on the air today, with your hosts Mitch Berg and Ed Morrissey, on from 1-3 CT with live streaming video and chat. If you’re in the Twin Cities, you can hear us on AM 1280 The Patriot, or on the station’s Internet stream if you’re outside of the broadcast area, as well as right here on on the permanent Ed Morrissey Show page at Hot Air.

Today, Mitch and I will start the show off by talking with Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to discuss the latest in the recall elections next door. What are the stakes involved, not just for Wisconsin voters but for responsible government around the country? Join us and find out!  We’ll also have plenty to discuss about the week in politics in Minnesota and on the national level, so don’t miss it!

Update: Governor Walker’s website can be found here.

Be sure to call 651-289-4488 to join the conversation, or text us at 651-243-0390! You can also register for free at Ustream to participate in our raucous live-chat sessions. (And if the log-in prompt doesn’t come up in the chat box below, use this link instead.)

Don’t forget about Heidi and Tony Panelli, owners of the Caribe Bistro in St. Paul. The light-rail construction derailed their business, but they have plans to reopen in Northeast Minneapolis. They have a new Kickstarter page that allows people to contribute to their nest egg. Be sure to check out the video to show what we’re missing during Caribe’s hopefully-brief hiatus:

Marizela Perez has been missing for a year.

Marizela’s case has a connection here at Hot Air, as she is the cousin of the Boss Emeritus, Michelle Malkin. Michelle is trying to spread the word through Facebook and Q13Fox/KCPQ in Seattle. We want to encourage prayers for Marizela’s family, and also try to reach anyone in the area who knows where Marizela might be and ask them to contact the police.

The search has its own website now, Find Marizela, for the latest in the efforts to bring Marizela home. There is also a fund for the family to keep the search efforts going. Be sure to check there and at Michelle’s site for further developments, and keep the family in your prayers.

America’s Most Wanted is now on the case, too.

Michelle has a new update on the case on the one-year anniversary:

Exactly one year ago today, my 18-year-old cousin Marizela (known affectionately to her family and friends as “Emem” or “Mei”) Perez disappeared from the University of Washington campus in Seattle.

She is still missing.

Those words form on the computer screen with disembodied disbelief. But my heart is screaming:

The not-knowing is every parent’s worst nightmare. It brought normal life to a standstill for Marizela’s parents, Edgar and Jasmin. And yet, they have to keep living and working and praying for their only daughter. Because that is what they must do. Their strength and dignity through all the suffering has been an inspiration to me.

There have been no new developments in Emem’s case. No word from the police or the medical examiner’s office. No activity on her bank accounts or social media accounts.

And no response from the Google legal department to our request for help in January.

Keep the prayers coming.

This guy is a true conservative. Can’t imagine why the dim bulbs hate him so.
Logic and common sense has left the barn, so it seems.
Here’s a lasso for each and every one of you. Be diligent, persuasive, bludgeon them
if needed (kidding). The liar would-be king absolutely has ‘got to go’. Riddance.
Oh, that’s OT, I guess. It is a pressing matter. No question.

What’s not to like, really. Scott Walker.
As others say….

more, please…

For a state that had the reputation of putting in Feingold…. I think we have every right to FINALLY be “bursting our buttons” with pride at having Scott Walker, Paul Ryan, and Ron Johnson representing us (not counting, of course, our beloved Donald Driver with “Dancing with the Stars”)! I am proud to call myself a Cheesehead from Wisconsin.

Scott Walker has done us proud. He is the example of “grace under fire”. He is telling the truth, and stands boldly on it without flinching and without being mean or nasty. His very honesty and wise handling of these attacks on him are making the left even angrier. Like the Bible says… return evil with good. Keep doing that as he has and … you heap “burning coals” on the evil one’s head causing a liberal firestorm of epic proportions. But- hopefully- that firestorm will do just the opposite of what they hope and plan, and will burn down the liberals’ stronghold rather than the conservatives.

WHOOP! If this actually turns out to be a HUGE Walker win…. we will be rejoicing in Wisconsin; and the country will be dancing along with us I think! Wisconsin has a chance to turn around and start coming back to fiscal responsibility and common sense… and REAL GROWTH (not the fake stuff we get handed from the white house). I hope I hope I hope….. I can hardly wait until tuesday night…

I just realized, Tuesday is June 6th. Now that is some serious good karma!

Oops. It’s June the 5th. Oh well, horse shoes, hand grenades, etc…

Go Pack!

My offer still stands, if Wisconsin really wants to sink back into liberalism full scale, I will offer mark dayton to you all for nothing, even trade, because many of us conservatives in Minnesota would love to have a politician with a spine……Walker, Walker, Walker

crosshugger on June 2, 2012 at 10:23 PM

That’s good stuff. Persistence, people. The truth hurts liars.

Scott Walker, we need more of this. Much more.
Damn refreshing, common sense.

… get off my lawn…

Now, come for dinner.
