Obligatory: Trump and Wolf Blitzer argue for 10 minutes over Birtherism

posted at 6:01 pm on May 29, 2012 by Allahpundit

Does anyone care? Ed and I have written endless posts about how stupid we think Birtherism is, but in the end is anyone going to vote for or against Romney because of this sideshow? My strong suspicion is that those who care enough about the birth certificate to think of it on election day already hate Obama with a ferocious passion and could give you two or three hundred reasons off the top of their heads for why he needs to go. Swing voters won’t give a hoot vis-a-vis unemployment and gas prices, and especially low-information swing voters might not even know that there’s a “natural-born” eligibility requirement in the first place. The only people who worry more about O’s origins than hardcore anti-Obama grassroots conservatives are, ironically, center-right professional commentators who don’t trust grassroots conservatives, which is why Peggy Noonan or Scarborough or whoever inevitably reach for the smelling salts when Trump starts pandering to the base. And as for the argument about Romney being thrown “off-message” or “losing the news cycle” because he’s busy fielding Trump questions instead of attacking Obama on Solyndra, again, who cares? By my measure, the average “news cycle” these days lasts around 16 hours and is shrinking by the minute. Come September, we may be down to 30 minutes or so. Romney will hit Obama 20 more times on public equity before the campaign is through and, with voters’ attention spans being what they are, none of it will register at all unless it comes within, say, a month of election day. Trump’s just making sure that the forgettable bilge that consumes most of the election coverage right now is a little bilgier today.

As for why Romney keeps him around when he’s intent on wasting time on nonsense, The Atlantic sums it up:

Strategists, elites, and cable news types disdain birtherism (for good reason!). And Romney himself has never embraced it. But voters? Although there has thankfully been less polling on the topic since the release of the birth certificate, birther beliefs appear to have remained resilient, barely ticking down in a January poll, for example. Folks who were willing to indulge silly ideas before remain willing to do so now. Without a groundswell of disapproval from Republican and independent voters, why should Romney bother to disavow Trump? McCain would have made the condemnation; the media would have oohed and aahed; and voters would still have voted for Obama. The Donald himself made this argument Tuesday, tweeting, “[Obama] keeps using @SenJohnMcCain as an example, however, @SenJohnMcCain lost the election. Don’t let it happen again.” For once, the man has a point.

Trump bashers of all political stripes have often reacted incredulously to Romney’s intimacy with the mogul, even outside the context of birtherism. After all, is there a single undecided or Obama-leaning voter who will change his or her vote to Romney because an outlandish television celebrity tells them to? Surely not — but the same logic applies here. If voters are so inclined to disregard Trump, there’s no downside: his support won’t turn them off Romney, either. On the other side of the balance sheet, the cash that Romney collects at the Vegas fundraiser is perfectly legal tender that can feed the campaign coffers.

Cynical but logical. Tolerating Trump lets Romney show the most ardent anti-Obamaites that he’s willing to “take it to The One,” even if it makes the Steve Schmidts of the world cry big salty tears. Meanwhile, everyone else rolls their eyes or shrugs. But content is content, so here’s some cable-news drama to liven up the afternoon followed by the new ad from Team O that won’t move the election needle even a fraction of an inch. Whither the Republic?

It all may have escaped our eyes wide open and ever courageous hotgas hosts but 3 weeks before Aug 4, 2011 Obama said he had a birthday coming up in a week, so he himself has claimed at least 2 separate birth dates as well as claiming, through his agent (his agent, not mine, not the man in the moon’s, not a freelancer), to have been born in Kenya and in 2, yes 2, separate hospitals in Hawaii. I think our hosts have overdosed on Grass and Cheese sandwiches.

And I want to point, it was Obama himself who pushed me to the other side on this topic. You know, with his author submitted biography proclaiming he was born in Kenya – provided with no presumed duress.

When should I take him at his word? Then, or now since it sweeps away any mess, for both him, as well as those on the Right who don’t want the Constitutional inconvenience?

I pledge allegiance, and my life and whatever is left of my liberty and my dignity, to all Birth Certificates or Certifications, or PDFs of same, layered or unlayered, pitched or kerned whichever which way, that Dear Leader Emperor Barack Hussein Louie Hugo Benito Isuzu Obama has now, ever has had or ever will have, and to fully trust that at least one of them is somewhat valid in at least one of the 57 states, or at least legible, and that Dear Leader Emperor Barack Hussein Louie Hugo Benito Isuzu Obama is a non-caesarian and hence natural born citizen of the third planet from the sun, one nation under Obama, invisible, with hope and change for all, except, of course, for Terry Lakin and Joe Arpio and Jack Cashill and Donald Trump and Diana West and anyone who knows how to spell any of their names. Amen.

Doesn’t everyone feel much better? Yes, so now we can put this totally inconsequential matter completely to rest once and for all. Always trust Dear Leader Emperor Barack Hussein Louie Hugo Benito Isuzu Obama in everything he says and does even if the connection between what he says and does is not apparent to your lowly mind. He wouldn’t be doing what he is doing to whom he is doing it if he didn’t know where he was at when he was doing it or he wouldn’t be where he was at if he didn’t know what he was doing and to whom he was doing it to.

“Birther” is a pejorative used by liberals and some Republicans against people who care… about the truth and legal eligibility of our president. We think the media didn’t research our president enough and we are curious and even suspicious. Many reports show Obama was a foreign student in America. We don’t trust liberals (and some Republicans). For that we are called “Birthers.”

Same goes for global warming. If you are skeptical of liberals and AGW, you are called a “denier.”

Anybody else notice the same people who call us “Birther” are the same who call us “Tea Bagger?”

Romney can learn a lot from Trump.

It’s funny that Blitzer wouldn’t even attempt to refute Trump’s argument about Obama claiming to be Kenyan born with the publisher.
Blitzer recognized that he would look foolish trying to claim that it was a typo or fact checking problem and that would cast doubt on all of his other evidence, so he has to just let it slide by. Trump recognizes this and exploits it for all it’s worth by repeating it several times.

It’s one thing for a blogger to write “it was a typo!” and quite a different thing to have to say it while looking millions hundreds of people in the eye.

Buddahpundit on May 29, 2012 at 10:07 PM

Birth Certificate, Grades, Health Record. The problems is this man has been Vented, reinvented, and reinvented again. So that we the people really do not know who he really is. In 2008 the Dem were so sold on the idea that they would have the first black president (WHY ISN’T HE A WHITE PRESIDENT WITH SOME BLACK BLOOD) or the first woman president that they took what the believed to be their best shot and “MANUFACTURED” Barack Obama. Only the higher levels of the Democratic Party know for sure who and what he really is. We The People do not know and will not be told if not for people fighting for our right to know. So for one, don’t give me this “the issue is dead”. The “issue” is the very heart of our system.

jpcpt03 on May 29, 2012 at 10:19 PM

Maybe I live in an alternate universe where a president must be qualified to hold office as stated in the constitution. In my universe there is no provision for when there is no verifiable proof of citizenship that the candidate is assumed to be qualified.

I don’t consider myself a birther as the Certificate of Live Birth is only a part of the overall question of who Obama really is.

There is much about Obama that raises question and few answers to them. It is also obvious that there is a block of power that has decided that allowing Obama to be disqualified would be a greater harm to the nation, hopefully, or to a regime change that is in progress which could be the driving force behind this bizarre chain of events concerning Obama.

In 1949 the communist party in our country realized that the American people would not willingly accept socialism and the centralized government that it needed to function. They realized that a national medical coverage, similar to those they already had begun in the United Kingdom after the war and other parts of Europe, was the only way that they could do it in the United States. They counted on the American charity that would not allow someone who needed medical care not to get it. They counted on a national medical coverage that could reach into every corner of government and citizens lives. Obamacare is the fruit of those dreams, their American dream, and Obama was tasked with insuring, above all else, that it was put in place.

Now as for the question of Obama’s birth, sitting aside all claims by his relatives of a Kenyan birth, it is a given that until birth, where the mother is, so is the child. If his mother was in the States, in Hawaii, even if she gave birth in the sticks with an unknown midwife, Obama was born in the United States and is a citizen. A Certification of Live Birth would have been declared in the normal process of the day, or if he were born in a Hospital, there would have been a record of the birth, or at least of the mother being a patient in the hospital.

The problem is that Obama’s Certification of Live has not been verified beyond doubt and what has been presented is strongly suspected of forgery.

The current Governor of Hawaii, a close friend of Obama, made finding and personally verifying Obama’s certification of live birth, one of his top priorities. As reported, he was not able to find it, despite early claims to have seen the long form in the record books with a description that it was about half typed and half hand written. All that he found were some notes pertaining to an application for the certification of live birth.

Obama’s mother processed a valid passport. It would show if she were in or out of the country at the time of his birth. Records are kept back to 1929. Unfortunately her records for the time of Obama’s birth are missing, presumed destroyed.

A record is kept of everyone who legally enters the United States in the national archives. If his mother entered before or after his birth, or was clearly present in Hawaii at the time of his birth, would be indicated in the microfilmed records. Somehow the microfilmed record for the week of Obama’s birth is missing.

You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to see something is curiously a foot with Obama’s birth and that obviously someone is hiding something, which surely is not that he was born in Hawaii, or at least for any reason I can entertain as valid and justified other than the records would lead to a conclusion that he was not in Hawaii at the time of his birth.

Obama did post to his web site a low resolution jpeg of a short form Certification of Live Birth. It was recently reveled that a man created it as a spoof and was both surprised and fearful when his spoof was put up on Obama’s web page as a real CoLB for Obama.

Interestingly Hawaii later claimed that only the short form was all that was available and inferred at least, that the long form records were destroyed once converted to the short computerized form. Obviously that was not the case.

Hawaii is even more complicit with aiding in the question of Obama’s birth with the creation of three fake Certifications of Live Birth, one for each hospital, and one for Kenya. They were white paper creations, but closely resembled the one Obama released as his Long form Certification of Live Birth, on a back ground of security paper.

The current Governor of Hawaii, a close friend of Obama from his childhood, tried to find Obama’s certificate of Live Birth and end the controversy with his assurance it was there. He was unable to do so, other than finding what appeared to be some notes pertaining to an application for a Certification of Live Birth. Yet once again they claim that it is in their records

The long form of the CoLB that Obama released was suppose to end the question, but as with most of the things done by Obama and his administration, it was not well planned and checked before releasing.

The long form has numerous red flags pointing to a forgery that cannot be explained away by the process of scanning, as initially used. Many of them the problems are noticeable to the naked eye such as the name of the hospital not following the curve of the line as it bends, and a variety of fonts styles that a single typewriter could not produce.

For those who may not be familiar with the typewriter. The type printed on paper by a typewriter is unique as finger prints and accepted in a court of law as such. It is almost impossible to realign a line or word or even letter perfectly once the paper is removed, yet the CoLB shows to have been created with more than 49 typewriters.

Then there is the problems that software is needed to show, as in the various font formats such as grey scale, black and white, color and types. The fact that the registrars stamp is moveable indicates that it was added in a layer. Layers are used to allow for corrections without messing up the earlier creations. When a document is complete, it is flattened so that all the layers combine as one and no longer can be manipulated.

The Certification of Live Birth is not the only problem. He appears to unique in that when he was issued his social security card, for a state that he had never been in and was no where near where he lived in Hawaii or even California where he attended college. Usually you need a SS when you register, but not if your there as a foreign student.

His Selective Service Card appears to be forged or he is unique in that only his card has the last two digits of the year instead of the full four for the year. Foreign students would not be required nor could register with the selective service.

His college records would show the foreign student status and bring into question his citizenship in a different light that the question of the Birth Certification. It also presents a reasonable explination for the need to forge a social security card and selective service card.

His preported college records of poor grades and yet top schools and high honors at the end don’t add up. In light of his heavy use of pot, it sure does not add up if what I observed of like kind in college holds true or later in the pot heads in my classes.

I am beginning to wonder if he is in some sort of sloppy witness protection program where they mixed some of his early life with a created one and now must protect him. Who has the power to make news media fear for even mentioning anything about his birth certification.

What happened to the judge presented with strong evidence to Obama not qualifying to be on the ballot, and no defense or evidence presented that he should be, suddenly rules that he is eligible.

What happen in Arizona where the Secretary of the State. He accepts a questionable written statement from Hawaii, that they now have a copy of his CoLB on record, more precisely, the very same one that he sent for verification that has been declared a forgery by multiple experts.

agreed.

Also, the point is not that any voter will be swayed by this argument. The point is that this candidate was invalid in 2008 and is about to perpetrate this fraud again in 2012.

It’s not about influencing voters, it’s about getting to the truth. I call B.S. that this great nation can’t survive the “Constitutional Crisis” that would result from the revelation that Zero is a fraud. We’re ALREADY in the crisis because no one is enforcing the Constitution against this usurper.

Whither the Republic?

A Republic is ruled by the Rule of Law.

If you care about the survival of our Republic, you support and defend the Constitution and the Rule of Law.

And guess what? Regardless of how you think “natural born citizen” should be defined, Obama has not proven that he is in compliance with current immigration law: the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.

Is the President above the law?

There are no exceptions made for government employees in the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.

All means all.
Must means must.

The President is a government employee who is paid a salary. All means all. Must means must. No exceptions.

All employees, citizens and noncitizens, hired after November 6, 1986 and working in the United States must complete a Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.

And the only document that prove Employment Eligibility for the office of President is an

Original or certified copy of birth certificate issued by a State, county, municipal authority, or territory of the United States bearing an official seal

The burden of proof is on Obama. He is not above the law, and MUST complete a Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.
