Video: S.E. Cupp and “The View” slam “Hustler”

Via Greg Hengler, a cleansing bit of feelgood bipartisan solidarity after yesterday’s sleaze. Has anyone on the left actually defended the “Hustler” stunt, incidentally? Hasselbeck says here that she can’t get NOW to pick up the phone (yet), but the only liberal willing to go to bat for Flynt that I’ve seen is this miserable has-been. Did I miss any others?
Yesterday’s deep thought from the man responsible was that the photoshop of Cupp is “satire,” even though it’s unclear to everyone what’s being “satirized.” Here’s today’s deep thought, which is a lot closer to satire than yesterday’s was:
In an interview with Reihan Salam for Vice magazine, pornographer Larry Flynt reveals that he’s now a hardcore supporter of President Obama’s just two years after calling Obama an “ineffectual wimp” for giving in too much to Republicans.
“I think President Obama has overperformed,” Flynt says. “He got handed on his platter when he became president more than any president in history ever had to deal with…. I think he’s done a marvelous job.”
Two clips for you, the first from “The View” and the second, via Mediaite, of the “Red Eye” crew wondering whether she can sue. The moment when Cupp talks about feeling ashamed despite having done nothing at all will break your heart. If it’s any comfort to her, and I’m guessing it’s not, there’s nothing personal in what “Hustler” did. If they hadn’t used her image, they would have used Michelle’s or Ann Coulter’s or Ann Romney’s or some other conservative woman’s. It was an attack on all; she just happened to be the one who took the hit. There’s a funny bit of truth too in the other clip when Gutfeld describes freaking out years ago after he found out his sister’s boyfriend bought “Hustler” instead of “Playboy.” The striking thing about the photoshop is that, even in the context of a porn mag, there’s no pretense made that it’s supposed to be titillating. It’s pure degradation, explicitly designed as punishment for her politics. That’s the same vibe that made Greg shudder, even as a kid.

Scott will be hearing from me. Fortunately, I don’t think it’s a unilateral decision. The legislature has to approve it. Both the Speaker and the Senate President issued statements. The Speaker’s was the best, and the SP was more like wait and see.

Let’s be serious.
To choose from we potentially have candidates like Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Bobby Jindal and others, and do you want to go with the woman who can barely speak in complete sentences and who can’t even finish one term in office without quitting? If you don’t mind, I would prefer we not have a nominee who is almost universally regarded as a gimmicky joke. Nothing against Sarah Palin, as she is a fine woman who is right on many issues, but she is not presidential material.

Yeah, 21 million new jobs and massive economic growth wouldn’t do us much good these days. Those old ideas of economic freedom and individual liberty are pretty boring I suppose.
Obama’s taxing and spending ideas are so fresh and forward looking. I’ve got an idea: how about we take steps to save this country and avoid total economic collapse?

What does that even mean? I don’t remember Rush ever endorsing anyone in the primaries.
A better question is why do RINO’s endorse so many losers? California should be RINO Utopia. But for some reason, it’s not. The RINO’s have cemented the illusion that California is lost. The only Republicans out there that can run, they say, must be RINO’s. And yet… it is a Democrat stronghold. If the RINO’s were so smart.. then California, New York, Massachusetts would be under Republican control.. since all the Republicans there are RINOs.
All a RINO is is a traitor to principles. A person who simply wants to always play it safe. Not safe for their party, but safe for themselves. Why are they even Republicans? They trash their own party more than they do Democrat because it’s safe.
They don’t want to trash the barbarians. Barbarians don’t take it. The sheep do. But they don’t want to join the barbarian party because they know most of America really isn’t barbarian. So they join the sheeple party, and stand out by trashing it often and siding with the barbarians. This will make them like you and useful to you and that way, the barbarians will call you friend. The Sheep will think you powerful and fearful since you have so many barbarians friends. It’s the safest palce to be.

The very term “moderate” as used in the political realm, is but in itself a deliberate corruption of its very meaning. It is essentially another weapon used by leftists in the GOP and their progressive allies across the aisle to inhibit conservatives from speaking the truth.
It is little more than one more of the same tired old word-weapons they hurl at truth tellers such as, “tolerant,” “sensitivity,” “compromise,” “racist,” “homophobe,” or “extremist” are misused, with but one goal, to stop the truth (that alone will set us free)from being heard. It is the anti-thesis of freedom, and needs to be attacked when used as such, for it’s deceit.

Kathleen Parker wants to go back to the good old days when Republicans were the minority and all their votes were go along to get along. Ah, the days when you could “say” you were a Republican and were in favor of balanced budgets and cutting spending, only if those nasty Democrats would let you do it.
If Kathleen Parker really thinks she’s right, let her enter a Presidential Primary and go up against Sarah Palin and see who gets more votes, put her money (and her ideas) where her mouth is.
At least now she’s come out as a RINO and we can judge her columns accordingly.

Republicans tried working for years with the Dems, only to be excoriated anyway and sit back while Dems promises were never kept. Over time, the Pubs became more willing to try again and got the same results. Only under Reagan did things improve for the country. After him, first under RINO Bush I, the prosperity melted away to what we have now. It is all because of Dem policies when they’re in power, and RINO willingness to get along.
After all that, many Conservatives like me have our heels dug in. No compromises any more. I, for one, refuse to bend any further on issues like gun control, crime, illegal entrants to my country, and a number of other things. I used to be Republican, but that was long ago.
And never again. If the Pubs do ever represent my views again, I don’t think it’ll be in my lifetime.

My comment wasnt in reference to our candidates but rather the atmosphere we have created on comment threads like this. It seems kinda nasty as opposed to witty or funny and I think the atmosphere has chased a lot of people off. I think the conservatives are doing this nationally to moderates in the party with the net effect being a smaller republican party

You can make up all the excuses you want, but the FACT remains that selecting Romneycare Willard KILLED the winning issue of 0bamacare, trying to sell Romneycare as a conservative idea killed off any chance of getting out the conservative vote, and when the elitists decided to steal the Ron Paul delegates by changing the rules after the primary, DEFEAT was made CERTAIN!

It’s a challenge to light heartedly lampoon Republicans who enabled two terms of an anti-colonialist president. It’s even more difficult to stay cool when Congress refuse to even recognize their constitutional powers and elected mandates to avoid being repeatedly outmaneuvering by progressive leftists. But I agree that witty sarcasm is probably more effective than angrily insults.
How about we just agree to limit our “RINO hunting” weapons to humor and irony. Or is your larger point that we should eliminate stinging quips to our moderate leaders’ soft underbellies and pledge that we’ll be loyal to the party in the end.

My reading of this and other conservative websites has gone from an hour or so a day to rarely if ever.
I got sick of the defeatism, the gold bugs, the “let the country burn” mindset, the pessimism and the puritans who want everyone who slightly disagrees about a puritanical view of “conservatism” to go away. And not “puritanical” as in social issues, “puritanical” as in if I don’t agree 100% with one sliver of one issue, I am a RINO and need to go the hell away.
We will never win another election with a mindset like this. The talkers have taken over and all they need to do is to build their ratings.
Some of us have children and want to have a future. We don’t want it all to burn down. I don’t agree with the Democrats but I sure don’t agree with what I see out of the right these days either. I’ll vote against Democrats, but as far as politics, I’ve stopped wasting my time. I read the paper once a day and that’s enough.
