Video: Romney hits Obama over economic winter

posted at 8:41 am on May 15, 2012 by Ed Morrissey

Team Romney continues to hammer Barack Obama on the economy with their new video spot, “A Few of the 23 Million.”  The spot focuses on Iowa, where three people represent the 23 million Americans who are out of work, underemployed, or who have simply given up all hope for economic change.  It’s a bleak picture, indeed:

For those who wonder whether yesterday’s Bain response was pulled together quickly or waiting on the shelf for rapid deployment, this ad gives a pretty good hint.  When was the last time Iowa had this much snow on the ground?  The Romney campaign must have shot this in December or January specifically to hit Obama on jobs and the economy; this ad would have made no sense in the context of the primary campaign.  The outdoor scenes aren’t stock shots, either, as it shows two of the people actually out in the snow, and all three dressed for cold weather.

The ad is a little long, but the theme and the presentation are top-notch.  Later we’ll see ads with the specifics on jobs numbers, but in this case we get to feel a little of the frustration and despair that 23 million Americans feel every day.  It’s a sharp contrast to the Hope and Change promised by Obama in the 2008 election.  Team Romney needs to stay on jobs and the economy for the next five months, as Obama simply can’t rebut the numbers.

Remember ‘hanging chad’? Or the dead vote twice in Cook County?
How about the recall in Wisconson where a petition signed by Adolph Hitler with an address in the middle of a sorgum field was ‘acceptable’?
Everyone must work to win this election, everyone. The Chicago Way of President Present must be countermeasured at all costs. If it ain’t CLOSE they can’t CHEAT. Right?
Land slide this complete and utter fraud back to Community Organizer. Win and win big. Harry ‘The Body’ Reid must be reduced to minority status and preferrably with a 60 seat (think Taxed Enough Already) movers and shakers in the Senate. Then the REAL work begins.

Oh c’mon now, this didn’t start out as a “gay” thread.

With ads like that, I’ll cancel my order for a nose plug in November. Please make a wise choice for your running mate!

How many millions of us are telling him that. If he doesn’t listen, he really deserves to lose.

No doubt it makes people feel better about themselves to be giving advice to Romney, but the idea that he needs advice from people who don’t realize that he doesn’t need it, is funny.

Romney as the nominee was a no-brainer. He’s running exactly the kind of campaign I said he would. I don’t see how he will benefit from the advice of people who didn’t understand that it was a no-brainer that he should be the nominee.

“… but in this case we get to feel a little of the frustration and despair that 23 million Americans feel every day.”

The only thing missing…

… were pictures of the Obowma’s on vacation, eating lobster, and the multiple parties in the White House.

TAKE… THE… GLOVES… OFF…!!!

Finally got around to watching this. Rather effective. The guy with the story of writing his daughter’s name on the step was very heart-wrenching to me as a father of a young girl.

I sure hope these three don’t get the Joe the Plumber treatment. I put nothing past the vile media in this country.

Boy they’d better not. Romney will make another ad documenting it. He’s fast on his feet, I’ll say that much.
