Video: Michelle Malkin takes on Juan Williams over comparisons between the Occupy movement and the Tea Party

posted at 12:01 pm on May 3, 2012 by Morgen Richmond

Hot Air’s Boss Emeritus was on Hannity last night, facing off against Juan Williams on a discussion segment dealing with the Occupy protests on Tuesday. In defense of the violent behavior of the occupiers, Williams attempted to compare the movement to the Tea Party. The result was predictably one-sided, but highly entertaining nonetheless. Michelle at her very best, via Gateway Pundit:

If it wasn’t for his baseless attacks on the tea party, I’d almost feel a little sorry for Juan Williams. He was outmatched to begin with and he’s really in a position here of trying to defend the indefensible. To support the Occupy movement in any way is to support anarchy, and orchestrated chaos and violence. This is a movement founded on anarchist principles, and led by anarchists and other radical leftists who openly call for the destruction of capitalism and the political system which supports it.

To compare it to the Tea Party is really an insult to both movements. Tea partiers abhor violence, and the bulk of the energy behind the movement is directed at demanding more fiscally responsible behavior from government, and restoring the freedoms and institutions which have made this country great. The aim of the occupiers is to tear down the system from within, and replace it with mob rule. They encourage the presence of revolutionary communists and black bloc anarchists within their midst, knowing full well that violence will ultimately be required to achieve their aims.

Restore and preserve versus tear down and destroy. The contrast could not be more clear and it’s a disgrace that people who consider themselves to be mainstream Democrats would support or defend a movement as transparently anti-American as this.

Malkin 1, Williams 0.

PFFHHHT. What a load of crap.

I have evidence from the OWS’s own lips they are racist misogynistic, filth mongering anarchists. If that isn’t enough, look at the videos of OWS crapping on police cars pillaging businesses and rioting in the streets.

When Juan got hit across the brow by NPR, I think it jogged somethin’ loose up there.

The few Tea Party events I’ve attended over the past couple years have been anything but racist or bigoted…mean-spirited…or disruptive.

Most were, admittedly, Anti-Obama to a T…but not based on Obama’s ethnicity, but his stupidity.

And…all of those Tea Party rallies ended with all participants picking up their own trash and making sure the park or area was spic and span, looking better than they found it.

Same for a lot of Libertarian rallies around here.

It is called respect for your fellow citizens, and tasking responsibility for your actions, something Juan Williams will not admit is always there and is totally absent at all OWS rallies and public orgies.

coldwarrior on May 3, 2012 at 12:10 PM

…and he’s really in a position here of trying to defend the indefensible.

A daily occurrence on the left lately. Poor slobs getting sent out in public to try to defend the Occupy degenerates, Obamacare, the Regime’s attack on border enforcement, Obama’s taxpayer funded campaign trips, the moribund economy, Obama’s disgusting end zone dances etc.

The Occupy movement is NOT an anarchist movement. Anarchists and Anarcho-Capitalists are non-violent voluntarists. They are the complete OPPOSITE of left wing thugs like those you see in the Occupy movement. The left wing has been tattering the image of true Anarchists since the turn of the 20th Century by using violence and destruction and claiming the name Anarchist. Do some research into what Anarchy is. It isn’t about destruction, pillaging and murder. That is a left wing, socialist strategy. The true Anarchists are the Anarcho-Capitalists who call for the end of the state in a non-violent transition. A left wing Anarchist is an oxymoron in itself.

They lie and they lie and they lie and they lie and they lie, and usually there’s no rebuttal. And it all fits their credo: tell a large enough lie a great enough number of times, and it becomes truth.

Good luck on your journey…

I love her passion. Coincidentally, it’s easy to be so passionate when she knows she’s right.

Fish on May 3, 2012 at 12:27 PM

MM was awesome. Some dude on Twitter was attacking her afterward claiming to have evidence of a Tea Party candidate who lost some local election that called the President a monkey – or something. In the same article, it said the guy would run in the 2012 election as a Democrat. Obviously he wasn’t attached to any particular party.

But to the larger point, what’s destructive about calling the president a monkey? Is it racist? Maybe, though I would argue it’s bigotry not racism as his comments didn’t impede the president’s free will. (Some may disagree with my distinction, but I can’t figure out how anyone is affected by someone’s thoughts if they’re not acted upon. You can plan to rob a bank, but if you don’t actually do it, no crime is committed; there is no victim. I see bigotry and racism in this light.)

Additionally, the Dems, in their zeal to support anything that reminds them of their glory days high, and in some sort of college class-skipping march, missed their opportunity to label OWS an anarchist group hell bent on limited or no government – exactly the opposite of their goals. With the media’s help, they probably could have framed them as an extension of the Tea Party rather than in opposition. It would have been a complete lie, of course, but so is the claim that these folks are anarchists. They’re not. They’re communists. $20 says just like in the 60′s, ANSWER is one the leading organizers.

BKeyser on May 3, 2012 at 12:27 PM

verbaluce on May 3, 2012 at 12:18 PM

Every Commie and Anarchy loving organization in this country are fully behind OWS. Yeah, I see where you get that “selective examples and anecdotes” from. No matter who you “select” you get another “anecdotal example” of a Marxist.

NotCoach on May 3, 2012 at 12:28 PM

So I went ahead and tried Juan’s search and found some guy named Jules Manson who say some crazy stuff. The mainstream media is claiming he is Tea Party, but I would need someone to validate that. He is in California and if memory serves there was a liberal group that created their own TEA party in an election to try to split votes from the Republican in 2010. It may have been Arizona though.

Either way I don’t think anyone in the TEA party claims this guy. He sounds like a nut. The more I read of his quotes, he doesn’t even understand conservatism or the constitution.

jeffn21 on May 3, 2012 at 12:28 PM

Juan Williams thinks with his skin.

OhioCoastie on May 3, 2012 at 12:29 PM

It is just incredible how various “obvious” facts get spread through the work of journalists. I swear, it takes only one of them to say or write a falsehood and in a matter of days or weeks, “everybody” knows that it’s true and nobody would ever think of actually, you know, committing real journalism to verify it. It just gets copied again, and again, and again.

In addition, I’m particularly disappointed in Juan Williams. Once upon a time I thought he was someoine worth listening to. But the last three or four times I’ve heard him speak he sounds like he’s gone completely over the edge. He seems to view everything through the lens of race which makes him absolutely impossible to take seriously.

Fafhrd on May 3, 2012 at 12:29 PM

This whole thing, and many “discussions” like it, are a sham. News networks have their pet libs/cons, and bring them out to “argue” that perspective, and lose. Turn the channel and you will see the exact opposite – a con “contributor” being set up to give the lame side of an argument (the side that the libs want to make the argument about, not necessarily what it is about), and “lose” the argument. Not news, but entertainment.

Love seeing Juan getting shredded (even if it is staged) on a regular basis, but he gets paid either way. This is entertainment and not informative. Just like Beckel on the 5 last night – He made the some of the same “argument” on behalf of the anarchists, and there is no way that even a lib like BB, stoopid as he and most libs are, actually believes the stuff he says. Just fodder for blogs.

There are better discussions between blog commenters than many of the TV talking heads. They just have to sell ad time.

Hueydriver on May 3, 2012 at 12:29 PM

RightXBrigade on May 3, 2012 at 12:17 PM

I agree, most people who call themselves anarchists are just extra stupid and especially violent leftists. The media is latching onto the term “anarchist” to try to separate the most violent terrorists from the petty criminal lefties of the Occupy Movement. We can’t let them get away with it. They are all leftists and they all either commit or condone violent crime and terrorism. All of them. The original concept of Occupy was to do crimes and defy basic law and order. It’s fundamentally leftist and fundamentally criminal.

forest on May 3, 2012 at 12:31 PM

I saw the debate. It was amazingly one sided as Williams did attempt to defend the indefensible. But to me, the bigger issue and one that has not been getting enough air time is the FACT that Obama…the President, not some news pundit…openly admits to admiring and supporting the OWS crowd and openly denigrates and insults the Tea Party. THAT is the headline! Juan was, as he usually does, saying everything that Obama has said and believes. Why isn’t someone running a tape of OWS violence and anarchy with a background of Obama comments supporting their cause?

Freakin’ blows me away!

PorchDawg on May 3, 2012 at 12:32 PM

If I was Juan Williams, I would refuse to take the OWS pro argument for fair and balanced. Have Fox News interview one of the actual OWS people on the ground involved in destroying private property let them make their own case.

It’s a losing argument for a democrat pundit or politician, if they were smart they would distance themselves from what the OWS movement has become “ANARCHY”. Mob’s are difficult to control, and at some point they are going to run out of handy targets, and turn on their creators. Politically trying to pander to them is a sucker’s game.

Hannity made a big mistake, as usual, by allowing WhoAnna to take so much time and only once interrupting him and his communist agenda and talking points. One of the reasons I stopped watching Fox a while back, they allow the morons to usurp so much air time and by the time they decide to step in to control a 5-year old’s tantrum it is too late, IMO, talking points have been delivered. Why are these communists even allowed to spew their moronic views in the first place?

As for those above calling WhoAnna loser, let me see here, he makes $2M a year for his 10 minutes per day TV appearance spewing whatever it is he wants to to, how much do you make it? Who’s the loser?

We allow these communists, no, let me re-phrase this, WE PAY THESE COMMUNISTS for their views, and then we complain about that? We are the ultimate losers here.

Funny and ironic how only female contributors to Fox have the balls to stand up to communists.

All the while he’ll continue appearing on Fox as an apologist for the same Leftist syndromes that he’s previously critiqued. No credibility.

kingsmill on May 3, 2012 at 12:33 PM

Juan Williams was never very bright. He garnered sympathy (actually, sucking in up like he was wearing an air mask) for the NPR “islamophobia” smear, but let’s face it, he’s an affirmative action hiree no matter where he works. He never has an insight someone else didn’t have first, he never scrapes the surface of any issue, and he nearly always defends Zero, except on the issue of school vouchers, which JW favors.

His vitriolic barbs toward the Tea Party (and now making moral equivalence with OWS) were there on day one in April 2009. Supposedly he has a son who’s conservative, so go figure. Putting him up against Mother Malkin was cruel, since he’s dumb as a box of rocks, and Michelle is da bomb as anyone knows.

noun
1. a person who advocates or believes in anarchy or anarchism.
2. a person who seeks to overturn by violence all constituted forms and institutions of society and government, with no purpose of establishing any other system of order in the place of that destroyed.
3. a person who promotes disorder or excites revolt against any established rule, law, or custom.

dogsoldier on May 3, 2012 at 12:46 PM

That “confrontation” was so one-sided.

Bruce Lee (Michelle) over Barack Hussein Obama II – Barry soetoro, the skinny, weak, girlie man.

Sandy Koulfax or Nolan Ryan (Michelle) over Barack Hussein Obama II – Barry Soetoro, the skinny, weak girly man who doesn’t even throw like a real girl. His sissified opening pitch history is legendary.

Jennie Finch (Michelle) over Michelle Obama or Barack Hussein Obama II – Barry Soetoro. Jennie’s fastpitch softball fast pitch was clocked around 72 MPH. From the 43 feet distance to the plate, her pitch approaches the equivalant of a 100 MPH major league fastball. Not only does Jennie Finch demonstrate how a REAL girl throws, demonstrating that, not only does Obama not throw like a boy, a man, OR a real girl, he throws like a sissified, feeble, effeminate, weak, girlie man.

Hussein Bolt, world record 100 Meters holder (Michelle) vs Obama, or a two year old.

Superman (Michelle) against a two year old.

Marilyn vos Savant (World record holder, highest IQ, 228 (100 is “normal”, in the Stanford-Binet system) = Michelle, vs, fill in the blank, e.g. Keith Olberman, Jane Maddow, Chris Matthews, the corner thug, school drop-out.

Clearly, in that interaction between Juan Williams and Michelle Malkin, Michelle was like all of those I mentioned, representing Michelle, vs those I mentioned, representing Juan Williams.

Michelle, and many Conservatives, are so much more well informed, prepared, intelligent, better educated, honest, and strong, than their leftist, hate filled, misogynist, socialist, communist, disrespectful, malicious, vindictive, venemous, cacophonous, disrespectful, vicious “opponents.”

Juan Williams got his “as#” handed to him by a mental-intellectual giant who holds strong, deep convictions, compared to Juan Williams’ lack of knowledge, shallowness, and parroting of skimmed stories or claims which have no basis in fact, and not proof or evidenced to support them.

Its just a shame they let people like him debate Malkin when there are much more intelligent people out there.

libfreeordie on May 3, 2012 at 12:16 PM

He is plenty intelligent, even if he occasionally reverts to being a liberal automaton. However, he does get out of the plantation, often (see his wonderful book against the leftie subjugation of blacks) and this is what irritates the left to foaming at the mouth.

He is embraced by Fox, and often by the right, to the utter chagrin of foaming lefties…Juan thinks for himself, an absolue no-no for the left, especially for a black man.

You’re not very discerning and should get your facts straigth before you make such broad claims.

I don’t always like her style, and am not in love with her, as are many here, but she is an incredibly quick thinker and can destroy any one of you, instantly, in any setting.

No one can aggregate huge amounts of information, linked and documented, in a shorter time, and more effectively than she can.

She has balls stronger and bigger than just about any male, from all sides of the political spectrum.

Juan Williams is a damn useful idiot.

I stopped watching television altogether about 1.5 years ago. It completely rots the mind. I used to watch shows like O’reilly and Hannity nightly, but found my blood boiling too much for my own good.

Giving equal time to flat out liars and shills for the Anti-Christ (the U.S. Democrat Marxist party) like Williams, Sharpton, Beckel, DWS, Caroline Heldman, et al. is wrong. If they could make a point using facts it’d be one thing. They are Devils though and cannot. I guesss we do need to hear them speak so we know what we’re up against. I just can’t take the lies anymore.

Michelle Malkin:

“We will define PWS fully by selective examples and anecdotes.
In fact, we have made a mission of it.
We refuse to allow the Tea Party movement to be defined fully or at all by selective examples and anecdotes.

verbaluce on May 3, 2012 at 12:18 PM

Probably has something to do with the fact that over 400 crimes have been reported and many Occupiers will tell you there are a lot more that go unreported, either because they are weed-related or because they send their “internal security” to “deal with” the matter.

By contrast, the Tea Partiers… well, there simply aren’t any. No Tea Partiers crapping on cars. No Tea Partiers throwing molotov cocktails at police. No Tea Partiers driving small restaurants out of business by their mere presence. They make their case, peacefully, then they go home, often leaving the place better than they found it.

It’s not even a comparison, really.

The guy Juan was referring to was a plant by the California Democratic Party. I suggest someone email Juan with the details.

… and there is no way that even a lib like BB, stoopid as he and most libs are, actually believes the stuff he says. …

Hueydriver on May 3, 2012 at 12:29 PM

I disagree. Libs say, in general, say stupid stuff all the time and they prove their belief through their actions. Spending your way out of debt being a prime example.

In spite of it, he sees the light 99% more often than most all others. They keep dwelling in the leftie modern day plantation.

Lefties don’t wish to liberate anyone. They just wish to sujugate and control the moochers, for votes.

Lefties are the cruelest and most unjust people in the world. Juan knows this.

YES! This is the left in five words. I’m going to start using this.

They have zero evidence to support anything they believe…all they have are feeeeeeeeeeeeelings. And if you don’t feeeeeeeeeeeeel like they do, you are to be excoriated. F them. I can’t live with these freaks anymore.
