You forgot the ethanol mandate, ….which Big Government uses to force gasoline suppliers to pollute our gasoline so that we NEVER get the MPG listed on the sticker!! The mandate is like a 15% tax on every gallon of gas: we actually have to PAY to have our gasoline polluted!!! PLUS, this scheme shortens the life of all engines!!!

So Big Government not only steals cash, but steals mileage, deliberately causes pollution, AND destroys our engines!!!

The reason the federal government feels that it has to invest our taxpayer dollars into green-energy projects, is because nobody else will.

…and so the federal government will step up and waste money on things that no sane investor would touch!!!

- Like windmills like the ones which were abandoned 100 years ago because they were unreliable and required lots of maintenance.

- And like solar panels, which can only generate flea power in the morning of sunny days if there are no clouds.

Yes, the feds are so much smarter than the rest of us! Look at all the successful businesses they have started!!! And the huge profits and gigantic return on investment they reaped!!! Oh, wait…

Ah, but the consumers have that power. Gas is down by over 30 cents here in the last couple of weeks — because people have been buying less.

I actually generally agree with Salazar about gasoline prices – Newt Gingrich’s promise to push down gas prices to $2.50/gallon or lower through his presidential actions was patently ridiculous. No president can control the global forces of supply and demand,

You are naive. High prices for gas and so many other commodities is the result of inflation – not supply and demand. The government for the last nine years has spent too much money and we have to be taxed to cover it all. Inflation is the tax they have opted for, since most people, like yourself, will believe that there really is a problem with oil, rather than consider their government is screwing them with a hidden tax. Look at the laundry list of spending between Bush and Obama. Where do you think the money is coming from for all of it? You can’t simply borrow indefinitely to pay for increased expenditures, particular permanent ones, like the prescription drug benefit.

Salazar requested Congress make tax credits for renewable energy permanent and require that America’s electricity be generated from low-carbon sources, which would supposedly ‘bring billions of dollars in capital off the sidelines and into the clean energy frontier.’ Wow.

yeah…what sidelined money could they be talking about here….um…how about the $14T in cash sitting in private retirement accounts? Make energy so expensive that folks have to dip into their retirement accounts to eat, incurring taxes and early withdrawal penalties (all payable to the IRS). If that doesn’t work, well, hell…we’ll just take the cash and replace it with US Treasury bonds.

Why? Cuz the gubbamint can spend your money better than you can.
