Finally: Obama “slow jams the news”

posted at 1:21 pm on April 25, 2012 by Morgen Richmond

Via Charlie Spiering at the Washington Examiner who says Obama “jumps the shark” with this performance. You be the judge:

The President seemed just a little wooden in his delivery. We know he can sing, at least a little. I suppose he realized how ridiculous it would have sounded for him to really get his groove on crooning about student loans and interest rates. Well, mission accomplished I’d say, because this robotic performance wasn’t ridiculous at all.

Hey, any day Obama doesn’t spend “slow-jamming” the economy is at least a small improvement.

Very weird.

It reminded me of just how good a show Mad Men is, because when you try to get creative and different, the potential for “dude, what were you thinking?” is always there.

To a 22 year old college student, it reminds him to get involved in the election.

angryed on April 25, 2012 at 1:52 PM

My 21- and 23- year old college students are looking for careers after graduation, not an incompetent panderer who uses elaborate props and sketches to make him look like a caring father figure.

Oh, yeah, they’ll watch and laugh–and like most of their peers, if they take the time to vote, it will probably be for Ron Paul. Because this state is red enough they don’t think they need to vote Romney.

– The youth gap is widening in Obama’s favor. Also, Obama leads Romney among 18- to 24- year-olds by 12 points (41 percent-29 percent) and 25- to 29- year-olds by 23 points (46 percent-23 percent).

Yeah, we had a few warts and did not do everything right but we saved more lives and kept more people free than any country in history. Now we are killing our children in the womb and killing our military by tying their hands behind them and committing cultural suicide by “pc ing” everything in sight. It really is sad to be living during this part of history. Makes me feel like I am living in those old black and white movies of the rise of the Third Reich.[ At least Hitler had some sense of the correct public bearing and behavior of a head of state.]

Obama’s father was likely a bigamist.

We know Romney’s grandfather rejected the polygamist life.
But did we know Obama’s grandfather wrote a book called:
Sex Rebel: Black: Memoirs of a Gash Gourmet ? (Gash…ugh)

Both Romney and Obama’s great-grandfathers were polygamists. I don’t know how many wives Romney’s g-grandfather had, but Obama’s had 4. (Some sources say 5)

While I’m all for the POTUS appearing in entertainment media and pop culture occasionally, it’s far better when it’s the show and audience having some innocent fun at the President’s expense with the President perhaps throwing a few jibes in return and giving a simple message on current affairs, and then leaving.

It helps the president seem more human and relatable.

But here we have the President coming in, not even trying for anything else, but instead patting himself on the back and asking for praise on something relatively trivial! What a narcissist!

ToddPA on April 25, 2012 at 2:38 PM

Oopsie!

Not only was this appearance in violation of equal time law, it was clearly an in-kind contribution by NBC to the Obama campaign. As the Federal Elections Commission states, “A donation of services is … considered an in-kind contribution.” Under applicable law, contribution of broadcast time is considered such a service. This was a campaign commercial for Obama, and the Obama campaign was not charged for it. A minute of network time can cost up to a couple million dollars; this segment ran a full five minutes. There is no doubt that Obama was given millions of dollars of free advertising time, and the Romney campaign should invoke all available law to make that clear.

Dee2008 on April 25, 2012 at 2:57 PM

From the link:

There are exceptions to the rule: appearances on (1) a bona fide newscast, (2) a bona fide news interview, (3) a bona fide news documentary, or (4) on-the-spot coverage of bona fide news events.

Only the second provision could be construed as saving NBC from giving Mitt Romney equal time. But this was not a bona fide news interview. In fact, it wasn’t an interview at all – no questions were asked, no answers were given. It was literally Obama reading a campaign speech over a guitar, a horn, a keyboard, and some drums.

I wouldn’t be surprised, the press is. Is it probable no? Is it possible yes.

Let me repeat one thing for you again, there is only one poll that matters and that one is in November. I don’t really give a rat’s ass what someone tells a pollster it is their actual vote that elects.

So whip out what you want to bolster your Obama ass licking I see gas prices that are killing people and people that are looking for jobs and can’t find them and people that are not better off than when Obastard took office that I highly doubt are going to vote for that clown. You think everyone in the country is stupid and will forget what that fool has done but I have a little faith that all people are not as stupid as dimocrats.

Eventually you sheep are going to run out of your stupid little distractions such as the war on women and dog stories bs and actually have to defend Obastards record, such as it is, and when you do what are people going to believe? Your lying BS or their eyes and experience under this fool and his administration? By no means do I like Romney but there is no way in hell that he could deliberately damage this country any worse than your false prophet has. All I know of a poll of my household says 100% of the vote is going to Romney and F BO.

You moronic turd. Every poll, including Rasmussen, is questioned on the basis of demographic makeup by those of us with functioning brains (yourself excluded).

Nearly every recent poll oversamples/weights far too heavily for dumbocrats- you know, idiots like you. Either that, or they hide what the makeup of the poll sample is.

This is the point being made time after time because the polls time after time oversample idiot lefties or hide their sample.

And this is the point (not the one at the top of your head) that you are too ignorant to understand.

If a poll does either- oversampling braindead lefties (again, like you) or hiding the demographics, then the poll is as worthless as the vast majority of the stupidity you burp up on this site.

Mathematics is not part of an alternate universe- except perhaps in the lobotomized obama drone universe that basement dwelling scab eating dolts like you live in.
