<blockquote>

There is ZERO chance that Romney is as bad as Obama. ZERO.

Voter from WA State on April 23, 2012 at 7:52 PM
</blockquote>

I'm a Palinista and very conservative and was heartbroken when she decided not to run. Having seen what she went through I respected her choice.

I've liked (and still like) Perry, Cain, Gingrich, Bachmann, Santorum and the others who put themselves out there.

My last choice would have been Romney because of his leanings towards liberalism and not being conservative enough, in my opinion.

However, after the "hot mic" episode where it was extremely clear that Obama would make any deal for his ease and expediency, it no longer became about my comfort level, but of getting a very dangerous, lazy and stupid man out of office.

Romney may be many things, but he would have never said that to Medeved, nor would it have occurred for him to do so.

I'm not ecstatic and have hoped that a lengthened primary might have changed things, but I'll settle (yes settle) for a toughened up Romney because I do know without hesitation that he loves his country and that's enough for me, all things being equal.

Sometimes being pragmatic is the only choice. Who knows, he may even pleasantly surprise us. I do know that it could never be as bad as an unencumbered Obama.

<blockquote> So no – I’m not really into “sympathy” for missionaries – since I’ve done EVERYTHING they’ve done plus dodge bullets.

Well, Honda, I know a missionary to India who worked with Mother Teresa who died of leprosy because of his work with the children of India. He housed and fed no less than 10K every day of the year. But he died doing what he loved.

Didn’t have to dodge what you you refer to as bullets . . . it was that leprosy “bullet” that got him.

And then there was Jim Elliott who didn’t die dodging bullets. It was the knives and arrows that got him. His most famous quote . . . “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”

Missionaries are not there to secure or defend an area. They are there to make the lives of those those they come to serve better.

Have a 90+ year old relative still working as a missionary in India. She has dodged gunfire many times.

Honda, I was a supporter of Rick Perry. I really wanted him to be the GOP candidate, but he blew it. I am accepting that.

There is ZERO chance that Romney is as bad as Obama. ZERO.

I was not draftable. However, I lost a good friend in Vietnam on 7/4/70. My father is a member of the "Greatest Generation" and finished his service as a part of the occupation forces in Japan (would have been one of those who invaded Japan had they not surrendered). I have an uncle who is highly decorated as a pilot who flew across Germany 56 times dropping bombs.

And I also remember celebrating when we found that my brother had too high of a draft number to be drafted. I know multiple people who celebrated when they could join the National Guard so they didn't get drafted.

Just because we lost way too many in Vietnam is no reason to attack a person who did what he saw was his duty to God. He finished his mission in 1968. The war ended in 1972. How did his mission keep him from ever being drafted?

Romney was already wealthy before he "inherited" anything from his father which he gave away.

Facts can be so annoying, can't they?

<blockquote>Aside from vacationing in France or anywhere else beyond the White House, I’ve been wondering if First Lady Ann Romney will keep a few of her horses there and install a riding track around the White House grounds. There’s room there for a track and certainly enough running space for two horses, perhaps four.

Ann has a nice stable and track at the Romney summer lakefront home here in New Hampshire.

There actually were stables at the White House until the early 20th Century; the evil automobile did them in. I'm surprised Jackie Kennedy never revived the tradition.

<blockquote>Mitt Romney does have a record in Massachusetts, of driving around in the State Troopers old escort vehicle, a Crown Vic, and not requesting a special brand new car to drive around in; not redecorating the governor’s office; cutting staff; restructuring government; and not giving in to the people who thought he should be vacationing on Martha’s vineyard with the Shhooshy people. He’s been going to NH all these years. The Romney’s are interested in governing, they are not interested in vacationing, you idiots. And they can pay their way when they want to go. I think they know the value of a buck better than Michelle.

And the kos people just may be upset about the idea of President Romney vacationing in France because they don't want any U.S. authority influencing the growing socialism there.

"Growing socialism" in France is no laughing matter. It's like considering a new liberal movement that is Left of San Francisco.

As long as President Romney pays his own way and for his own personal expenses and doesn't bow to foreign governments or anyone else, I'm fine with him vacationing in France or anywhere else he wants to go and can afford to visit.

Please note that Obama's vacations in Hawaii are not paid for by him, nor is Hawaii necessarily an "American" experience. Neither is Martha's Vineyard.
