You can always read his biography you bitter little man.

bayam on April 23, 2012 at 6:45 PM

While I have no doubt Jobs was left-of-center in the politics he espoused, the question is, what were his politics in action?

I bet he paid a lot of lawyers and accountants to keep as much money from the gov't - personally and for Apple - as he could.

I'll bet he did not like gov't regulation of his business and fought against / railed against it and/or circumscribed it.

I'll bet he did not personally "spread the wealth" that much.

I doubt he sent his kids to public school.

I doubt he lived / associated with the less fortunate.

I doubt he hired based on affirmative action.

So, while he said all the politically correct things in CA, his actions probably did not live up to his political rhetoric - which is true of almost every wealthy liberal. I'll take someone's actions over their words for what they really believe most times.

And, ultimately, it is easy for a wealthy person to support liberalism. They know that the ravages of liberal policy will not directly effect them, as they will still be able to hide money from uncle Sam with their army of lawyers/accountants, they will live in their gated communities and can pay for the best doctors (even leaving the country for medical services if it become necessary), and because of their wealth, they will have access and influence so can use that to deal with problems caused by the gov't. Being a wealthy liberal is basically pulling the ladder up after you make it to the top so nobody else can reach the top.

I would bet you would find a lot more liberals among the wealthy than you would among the almost rich, the people starting up businesses and the middle class. These people know that the gov't only puts up barriers to success, it cannot create success.

It’s even worse to see Steve Jobs named in this video- a name picked because Steve is no longer alive to strongly object. Jobs was not a right winger and using his name to suggest otherwise is disgraceful.

Countries like Germany exhibit far more of all the above yet have stronger manufacturing bases and little to no annual deficit. This reality should ignite a discussion about what steps a highly developed country can take to compete on its own strengths, not those of low cost third world countries where things like bribery and pollution are rampant.

this is where liberals problems are - just because Germany does something, doesn't make it good or right. By the way - I don't agree with you assessment of Germany. We can have that argument all day. But if you really like Germany so much, go there. Don't try and make us more like Germany. That's an option for you.

And the whole pollution bugaboo is nonsense. Even if we eased up on some of the more idiotic restrictions, we would not be living in a polluted cesspool. And what bribery has to do with any of it - I'm not sure.

It may surprise you that Japan has literally no natural energy sources yet remains one of the most powerful economies in the world. In fact, there’s little correlation between domestic energy sources and economic or manufacturing might.

that is somewhat true, but how does that translate into arguing that America should not have a reasonable, rational energy policy and use its natural resources? Regardless, Japan is hardly the mighty economy it once was - Japan is going to be in for a very rough ride in the future. I just don't get why leftists simply don't want America to develop any of its resources. It makes no rational sense. Particularly when your idol O is spending American money to help other nations develop their resources. the only way that makes sense is if one assumes the people holding such positions really, really don't want America to ever have any kind of rational energy policy. And why wouldn't they want that?

Where did you people learn to talk in such an absurd language, Glenn Beck? The things that can happen when you watch too much TV.

We learn it day in and day out from liberals and their claims about conservatives. After being called a fascist (incorrect labeling by the way, as fascists were socialists) et al, for years and years by leftists, told we are racist, homophobes, sexist, want to kill grandma and all the other nonsense constantly spouted by leftists, we learned to return the favor and call a spade a spade. When an ideology wants to reduce everything to federal gov't control - they are socialist.

You may be surprised to learn that regulations affecting technology, genetics, pharma, and other high growth industries are far less restrictive under Obama than at any time in the last decade.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/work-in-progress/2012/04/05/jobs-act-to-jumpstart-the-job-market/

That isn't true and the link you cite doesn't even remotely back up the claim.

But at the end of the day, neither party is going to change the jobs outlook in this country unless the trade deficits with China and BRIC countries are addressed.

The funniest thing to me though is a leftist now claiming that the admin isn't responsible for the bad US economy - it is now beyond Obama's control. Not what leftists said when Bush was in charge. When Bush was in charge every single thing that happened was Bush's fault - higher gas prices, unemployment rise, etc.

To follow, not lead… why would you start with energy? America’s global advantage is based on this country’s ingenuity and innovation, not on its capacity to extract fossil fuels from the ground. I strongly disagree with any suggestion that puts the US economy and leadership on par with Saudi Arabia or Russia.

I don’t know why this video would irritate anyone who understands and appreciates, loves freedom and American values. It perplexes me why anyone other than a lib would waste time bickering over it and attempt to pick it apart.

Why wold you start with energy? Because without it, you don’t go anywhere. It’s a foundation that holds up just about everything else. Why is that so hard to understand? You think it would have made more sense to start out with the price of ice cream?

This should be axiomatic – democrats are leftists. Leftists want the Capitalist America to be replaced with the Socialism America ( on the way to Communist America )

Where did you people learn to talk in such an absurd language, Glenn Beck? The things that can happen when you watch too much TV.

The name was picked (along with Edison and Ford) as an example of an American innovator and entrepreneur who probably would not have been able to succeed under the restrictive, over-regulated conditions now in existence in U.S. markets thanks to Obama. Jobs was a free-market capitalist with strong libertarian leanings. He refused to even have a license plate on his Mercedes. He was also very concerned about the degradation of education in the U.S., a decline that is directly attributable to the Democrats.

There you go again, attributing words to Jobs that he never expressed. In fact, Jobs and many other silicon valley CEO's advised Obama and supported his policies. You may be surprised to learn that regulations affecting technology, genetics, pharma, and other high growth industries are far less restrictive under Obama than at any time in the last decade.

But at the end of the day, neither party is going to change the jobs outlook in this country unless the trade deficits with China and BRIC countries are addressed. This is a trade issue, not a regulation issue, as demonstrated by the simple fact that under Bush only 3 million jobs were created in the US. This terrible job record wasn't the fault of Bush or his regulations policy but a direct result of the global economy.

Look back into history as to what Adolf Hitler and the nazi party were able to accomplish politically.
