Here is some more good coverage of the Tea Party Rally in San Francisco that was held on Saturday.

The photos may give you some ideas for signs or themes that you can use at your local Tea Parties.

If Tea Parties can be done in San Francisco, it can certainly be done in your local community!

I'm not sure what the sampling looks like from WaPo/ABC, but if its like sampling we've seen in the past, I'd give it a D+11. While I'm not seeing an outright decline as insinuated by WaPo/ABC, I can say there isn't much growth either. Just as a casual observation, I think the Tea Party is pretty much static. Whether this is because the base is saturated or, as Tina notes, the lack of being "newsworthy", it's hard to tell.

It is interesting to note that while the LSM was bashing the Tea Party the hardest was when I was seeing the most growth, which seemed somewhat surreal. I speculate that being in the limelight, for good or bad, was beneficial to the Tea Party, much like bad press for a rock star sold records.

To say that the Tea Party is on decline is an utterly ludricrous position. While Tea Party candidates haven't done well in the elections, there has been a noticable impact that has little chance of dissappearing off of anyone's radar scope anytime soon...

...no matter how much the LSM wishes it to.

But I posit a different theory. The Tea Party really hasn’t been in the news much lately — and, usually, when the movement is mentioned, it’s by opponents who cite Tea Partiers in Congress as obstructionists.

More troublingly, the poll found that strong opponents of the Tea Party outnumber strong supporters by two to one.

I can believe this. You basically have the entire Democrat apparatus opposing the Tea Party, and then there's the chunk of the Republican Party captured by the faux-moderates who have never seen a liberal policy they don't like.

I don’t believe I am alone in my thinking so yes, support for the entity called the tea party is declining but the support for its ideology is still very high.

I don't believe this. I think the selection of Romney as the Republican candidate shows a significant part of the people who describe themselves as "Republican" or "conservative" have actively chosen to discard limited government conservatism.

I can’t help but notice the absence of a reply from Vyce. Again who are these “true cons” of which you speak? ” true cons ” is a leftist talking point. Please feel free to correct me. Perhaps on another thread.

It's just the latest permutation of "right wing extremist" and "wingnut." It's rolled out anytime someone criticizes Romney's big-spending policies and other left-wing policies. It's a fact-free smear meant to silence opposition and shut down debate, that's all.

That part of the Tea Party that opposed Romney has disintegrated into everything the left claimed. They are nothing but hypocrites and the whole country can see it clearly now.

The lies are exposed.

The good guy won, in spite of the lies.

Romney is the most conservative candidate we have ever had. And far more conservative than any one else in the party. There isn’t one person who didn’t prove they didn’t have any real claim as a conservative, from Gingrich to Palin… they are all hypocrites.

That is why Romney won.

The part of the Tea Party that opposed him has been exposed as the hypocrites they are. They will not keep any power.

Fortunately, there are more Tea Party folks who realized it and either quit the hypocrite Tea Party or turned their Tea Party to Romney.

The hypocrites exposed themselves. Good riddance.

People like you are why I distrusted Romney. You know nothing about the Tea Party movement and it sounds like you know nothing about Romney. You are the hypocrite, spewing hate for things you know nothing about. Romney did't "win" because he is the most Conservative, hardly. He won because he was an experienced campaigner, with money, and the support of the establishmant and you know it..
The Tea Party movement in many states has helped elect people and brought issues to the ballot, many of which were passed. What have you done other than get on an internet forum and write glowing love letters about a man and hate about his opponents? Next time before you write something know what you're talking about.
I realize you are infatuated with Romnay, that has been clear from all your posts. But the hate you spew has not convinced me he is the right man for the job. I am ABO so he will get my vote, but that is truly sad. I sincerely hope Romney is nothing like you or we are in serious trouble.

The 'TEA Party' has been used by many politicians trying to latch on to its success. Your words are accurate. The TP was never meant to be a politcal party but an idealogy. I identify with the TP movement because it reflects how I feel/believe in that area.

The biggest frustration for me with the TP movement is that whatever is accomplished in the House is squashed by the Democrat controlled senate. There has not been enough focus on the senate races.

I don’t believe I am alone in my thinking so yes, support for the entity called the tea party is declining but the support for its ideology is still very high.

This +100.

The power of the TEA Party is the very thing that makes it so hard to poll. Rather than being some sort of manufactured "movement" like the occupiers, people who believe in the original TEA Party tenets (Taxed Enough Already!) are an unmanaged grassroots group with no central organization. Those who believe in the ideology are unlikely to stop having those beliefs, especially as we see the results of the tax and spend madness of the current administration. But they will look askance at those who try to co-opt the movement and make it a marketable label for whatever they're trying to sell.

It's particularly telling that the TEA Party is painted with the same brush as the social conservative movement. While I'm sure many TEA Party believers are also pro-life and anti-gay marriage, not one person I know thinks the two types of conservatism (social and economic) are inextricably intertwined. There is only one way they're related: both economic and social issues are best decided at the state or community level, and the government ought to get the heck out of all of them.

I am a 55 year old retired law enforcement officer and conservative republican. I have not been happy with the "Tea Party" since a few people decided to use the ideology as a vehicle to gain some power. The tea party was, in my opinion, never meant to be an entity. It was an ideology that many of us shared and many of us still do. I am not part of any entity and will go to the ballot box as an individual in November in order to vote my conservative ideology. I do not support the tea part as an entity and would say so if polled but I do support its ideology.
My Tea Party has held rather sedate sidewalk awareness rallies since August, 2009, at the largest shopping mall in the country, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

Our messages have concerned spending, O'care, regulations that kill industries, government control; truly radical stuff, huh? One of my favorites is our sign (with news report attached) about the thousands of jobs already killed by O'care by the destructive 2.3 percent tax it has imposed on medical devices.

Back then, by careful count, the ratio of favorable gestures from the public ran about six or eight to one.

For the past year, this ratio has been twenty to one, and often far more. And now includes a sprinkling of black Americans every week.

Quiet doesn't mean dormant. As we get closer to November, you'll see the Tea Parties flex their muscles more noticably.
