Communists to Allen West: How dare you accuse us of having Democrats as members?

posted at 5:23 pm on April 11, 2012 by Allahpundit

Even reds have standards, my friends.

No, I’m kidding. They’re indignant on behalf of the Democrats, not on behalf of themselves. Although … that’s kind of strange, no? You would think a commie’s reaction to congressmen being accused of communism would be, “What’s wrong with that?”, not “How dare you?”

“I just think it’s an absurd way to cast a shadow over his colleagues. It’s kind of a sad ploy,” Libero Della Piana, a vice-chairman of the national Communist Party, said of the Florida Republican’s charge that about 80 House Democrats were members of the radical party.

“It’s just guilt by association taken to an extreme,” he told POLITICO. He also said there are no members of Congress who are members of the Communist Party – not even avowed socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

Oh, wait — here’s a little “what’s wrong with that?” rhetoric after all in the course of accusing West of McCarthyism:

“We are supposed to live in a political democracy,” he said. “I didn’t know that being a Communist in Congress was off-limits or out of bounds. There aren’t any now and if there were in the future does that mean that the voters don’t have a say? Can’t choose a Communist to be in Congress?”

When I read about it this morning, I figured West was goofing on the House Progressive Caucus. According to his campaign manager in an interview with the Daily Caller, that’s exactly what happened. I think:

“I believe there are about 78 or 81 members of the Democrat Party that are members of the Communist Party,” West said in response to a question at the event. After a dramatic pause, he added, “it’s called the Congressional Progressive Caucus.”

According to the Palm Beach Post, West merely made the allegation about party membership and then “wouldn’t name names” — something Edson said was also untrue.

“One stupid reporter with a local publication misquoted the entire thing, and they all jumped on one press account without verifying,” said Edson. ”It’s all typical west wing marching orders for their friends in the press.”

“Some people are going to quibble about semantics,” he added. “The real point is these people speak for themselves and if you listen to the words of the progressive caucus it’s clear that these people are opponents of capitalism — they oppose free markets, they oppose individual economic freedom — so you can call them whatever you want — whether they’re socialists or marxists or communists.”

Here’s the clip, which West’s office posted to debunk accusations of McCarthyism. I think it’s actually a half-debunk: It sounds like he’s not seriously accusing House progressives of being card-carrying capital-C Communists but is accusing them of being de facto lowercase-C communists in their policy preferences. (His campaign manager echoed that point to the Caller.) Here’s the CPC’s budget proposal for fiscal year 2012 in case you’re looking for a yardstick to measure. Plenty of statist bells and whistles in there — huge tax hikes and a health-care public option stand out — but they seem to accept, however grudgingly, the idea of billionaires in the private sector and they actually tout how much federal spending their budget would allegedly cut. How many communist regimes tolerate the idea of private citizens amassing huge amounts of wealth, even at a higher tax rate? (Oh, right.) But we needn’t overanalyze. He’s making a rhetorical point here that a statist is a statist is a statist, just as his campaign manager suggests. And he did it in a way that guarantees a day’s worth of media/left “McCarthyism” upset at a moment when Romney’s trying to get traction for his “war on women” offensive against The One. Probably safe to say he’s not on the VP shortlist now, if he ever was.

Or maybe West was referring to the Rep. Diane Watson’s visit to Cuba:

And lemme tell ya, before you say “Oh, it’s a commu–”, you need to go down there and see what Fidel Castro put in place. And I want you to know, now, you can think whatever you want to about Fidel Castro, but he was one of the brightest leaders I have ever met. [APPLAUSE]

And you know, the Cuban revolution that kicked out the wealthy, Che Guevara did that, and then, after they took over, they went out among the population to find someone who could lead this new nation, and they found…well, just leave it there (laughs), an attorney by the name of Fidel Castro

as it stands he is completely right, the Democratic party is the vanguard of the new left, they made a tactical decision in the 60′s, that, instead of gulags and secret kidnappings, they would use the democratic process, so that is where we stand today, the CPC are comunists, our sitting president is a communist, many of his officals are communists. The Euphemism might be different, progressive, marxist, maoist, socialist, community organizer, but they are all sublets of Communism

Only if you’re elected with a hidden agenda. Then you’d be a liar in taking your oath of office.

In fact, charges from the tea party that President Barack Obama and other Democrats were enacting “socialist” policies has led to increased interest in exposure of socialism, Della Piana said.

That’s what you meant to say, no?

“I think a lot of Americans were opened up the idea of socialism because of the tea party’s attack on it,” he said. “I think they put it back on the agenda. By attacking every policy initiative of the president as socialism, they put it back in the public debate… it wasn’t exactly something the average American was talking about before that.”

Just like turning a light on makes the roaches scatter, huh?

ACTION PLAN:

Start by voting California’s members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus out of office in the California Primary Election on June 5th, 2012.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

For the first time, California will be using a “Top Two Open Primary” system.

Since the top two winners of the Primary Elections who will advance to the General Election may be from the same party, the California Primary Elections on June 5th will be the most effective way for us to clear lots of Socialists out of Congress.

With Democrats running against Democrats in the Primary, it may be more possible than it was in previous elections to unseat a Socialist incumbent.

And we need work hard to make sure as many Republicans as possible get a spot on the General Election ballot in November, since there is no longer a guarantee that a Republican will even appear on the November ballot in California.

Since California has over 50 Congressional Districts, California’s Primary Election will have a HUGE impact on which party will win the Majority in the House in 2012.

On June 8, 2010, California voters approved Proposition 14, which created the Top Two Candidates Open Primary Act.

Except for the office of U.S. President and county central committee offices, offices that used to be known as “partisan offices” (e.g., state constitutional offices, U.S. Congress, and state legislative offices) are now known as “voter-nominated” offices.

Under the Top Two Candidates Open Primary Act, all candidates running in a primary election, regardless of their party preference, will appear on a single Primary Election ballot and voters can vote for any candidate. The top two overall vote-getters – not the top vote-getter from each qualified party and anyone using the independent nomination process – will move on to the General Election.

http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/npp.htm

We can’t wait until November to clean the House in California. We need to be actively involved in California Congressional campaigns NOW.

Libero Della Piana, a vice-chairman of the national Communist Party, said … there are no members of Congress who are members of the Communist Party

It’s just a hop, skip, and a jump away…

There may not be a direct connection between Democrats and the Communist Party USA, but there is an indirect connection via the Working Families Party.

First, let’s show an example of how the Communist Party treats the Working Families Party “as family”:

Remember the president of NY NOW telling us she wanted to see lots of red flags at the March for Womens Lives. And the chair of ACORN and Working Families Party who called upon us as family to make our contribution known. Did we respond? YES, we responded!

- From: The Communist Party USA and the 2004 Elections: Build the Party, Build the Coalitions

Note well that “the chair of ACORN and Working Families Party who called upon” the Communist Party was Bertha Lewis, who was both Chief Executive Officer and Chief Organizer of ACORN, as well as a founding Co-Chair of the New York Working Families Party.

So, when Bertha Lewis, chair of ACORN and Working Families Party, called upon the Communist Party “as family” to make their “contribution” known, the Communist Party responded enthusiastically.

[Sidebar: Say, wasn't Obama an attorney for ACORN at one point?]

So, we have a connection from the Communist Party to the Working Families Party.

Now, do we have a connection from the Working Families Party to Democrats?

Yes, yes we do. The Working Families Party doesn’t run their own candidates, but rather endorses and runs the name of Democrats under the Working Families Party name on the ballot. This works for them because of what they call “Fusion voting” in New York.

——————-

So, the Communist Party treats the Working Families Party “as family”, and the Working Families Party endorses and puts on the ballot Democrats like Andrew Cuomo for Governor and Chuck Schumer
& Kirsten Gillibrand for U.S. Senate.

As a resident of California I say, please feel perfectly free to write my name in for any elected official you do not want to see reelected.

So, the Communist Party treats the Working Families Party “as family”, and the Working Families Party endorses and puts on the ballot Democrats like…

Working Families for Obama

September 24th, 2008
election 2008, endorsements, obama

Vote Change Like You Mean it

After 8 long years of disastrous, far-right government, Working Families need a champion in the White House like never before. Barack Obama’s campaign has inspired millions of Americans to fight for the issues the WFP has long championed, whether it’s an economy that works for everyone, healthcare for all, protecting social security, or the right to join a union.

This November, Obama will appear on the Working Families Party ballot line – “Row E” – across New York. Votes for Obama on the WFP line count just the same, but they also let you vote your values and send a powerful message: New Yorkers demand real progressive change.

Vote Obama on the Working Families line – “Row E”

Take the Pledge: I’m voting for change and I mean it. I’m voting for Barack Obama on the Working Families line – “Row E”

Marxists have long hailed its progressive significance …

… make fundamental progressive change…

With Marxism-Leninism guiding our actions, the Communist Party strives to build the broadest unity against global capitalist imperialism now headed by U.S. imperialism, for immediate gains and reforms that benefit working people, and for a progressive democratization of the government, the economy, and society of our country on the road to and after winning socialism.

With pride in our past and confidence in our future, we hereby establish this Constitution of the Communist Party of the United States America.

“Progressive” = Communist

Why is it you’re able to connect those dots but won’t support our inevitable GOP nominee who could not be more far removed from these clowns insidious agents of destruction?

It’s simple, really. I don’t want to support any “Progressive”, regardless of the party label that they claim. And Mitt Romney is a self-described “Progressive”:

“I think people recognize that I am not a partisan Republican. That I’m someone who is moderate, and that my views are progressive.”

ITguy on April 11, 2012 at 7:38 PM

If Romney wins the Republican nomination, there will be two “Progressives” on the ballot in November… Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

That is why I will battle for a conservative nominee until someone secures the votes of 1,144 delegates.

West was speaking truth. Good for him. Sadly, the gop elites are too scared to pick him as vp and will pick a dull, weak, boring old white guy instead. Portman lol

I want to see west debate biden… Send biden running away crying!

Yes.

A U.S. Congressman speaks at headquarters of Communist Party USA, talks of unifying “African-American” and “Latino” “activists”, receives award from People’s World (a publication of the Communist Party USA), and…

… at an earlier time, Barack Obama shared the stage with, and said he shares the values of, this Congressman.

Communists, black racists, Black Liberation Theologists, Muslims (mainly Nation of Islam) work as a single unit against America, and they hide in and behind the Democratic party. Everyone should know it by now…

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Many Russian immigrants to the “red borough” of Staten Island are flocking to the Republican Party, saying that the national Democrats’ “socialistic” policies remind them too much of the top-down oligarchy they fled in their native land.

We decided we had to support this club,” said Fridman, a former Soviet Army officer who came to the United States in 1992. “They are very close to our political and business vision.”

Fridman said that the Democrats “are going in an absolutely different direction,” focusing on “income redistribution” and rich-versus-poor “class war.”

“It’s too socialistic,” said Fridman, head of the non-profit Staten Island Community Center and president of Citizens Magazine, a public affairs publication. “It’s very painful for us to see.”

Are you a recent college grad? Or just someone who ate up every word Glenn Beck uttered?

he did it in a way that guarantees a day’s worth of media/left “McCarthyism” upset

Senator Joe McCarthy wasn’t wrong, he was proven right.

Drawing on primary sources—including never-before-published government records and FBI files, as well as recent research gleaned from Soviet archives and intercepted transmissions between Moscow spymasters and their agents in the United States—Evans presents irrefutable evidence of a relentless Communist drive to penetrate our government, influence its policies, and steal its secrets. Most shocking of all, he shows that U.S. officials supposedly guarding against this danger not only let it happen but actively covered up the penetration. All of this was precisely as Joe McCarthy contended.

No.

Or just someone who ate up every word Glenn Beck uttered?

I made some of the connections before Glenn Beck did.
