Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

posted at 8:01 am on April 8, 2012 by Allahpundit

Lots of religious guests on tap for Easter Sunday morning, including Cardinal Dolan of New York discussing Obama’s contraception “compromise” on CBS and Rick Warren sitting down with Jake Tapper on ABC. If you’re dead set on politics, though, Ron Johnson and Kent Conrad will battle over Paul Ryan’s budget on Fox and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz will turn up on CNN to repeat whichever Democratic talking points her operating system has been configured to run this week. Expect lots of “war on women” nonsense in keeping with Obama’s recent pander-monium.

The line-up via WaPo:

NBC’s Meet the Press: Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL); Sen. John Kasich (R-OH); Archbishop-designate of Baltimore William Lori; daughter of Billy Graham, Anne Graham Lotz; United Methodist Pastor Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO); member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID); Executive Editor at Random House Jon Meacham

ABC’s This Week: Pastor Rick and Kay Warren; George Will, ABC; David Chalian, Yahoo!; Michael Eric Dyson, Georgetown University; Chrystia Freeland, Reuters; Peggy Noonan, Wall Street Journal

CBS’ Face the Nation: Cardinal Timothy Dolan

Fox News Sunday: Sen. Kent Conrad, (D-ND); Sen. Ron Johnson, (R-WI); Brit Hume, Fox News; Mara Liasson, National Public Radio; Steve Hayes, The Weekly Standard; David Drucker, Roll Call

CNN’s State of the Union: Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL); Mark Penn, pollster; Linda DiVallKen, pollster; Starr, former Solicitor General; Neal Katyal, former Acting Solicitor General; Ralph Reed, Faith and Freedom Coalition; Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO); David Brody, Christian Broadcasting Network

Er, isn’t Kasich the governor of Ohio?

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again:

Debbie Wasserman Schultz- a face as lovely as Grandpa’s old baseball Mitt, a voice as mellifluous as a a toilet plunger in action, and tresses that bring to mind a crotchful of yeti pubes.

Moreover, she employs the logic of a Dan Brown novel, exudes the human warmth of an alligator, and exhibits all the ethics and honor one could expect to see in the negotiations betwixt a gaggle of used-car salesmen conventioneers and a Vegas escort service.

All DWS needs in the photo on front page is a placard with numbers. She looks like one of those DWIs, the morning after the bender……lol

DiabloAzure on April 8, 2012 at 8:34 AM

You have to give credit where it’s due. Many women play hard to get. Debbie Downer consistently either plays hard to want or hard to take.

ghostwalker1 on April 8, 2012 at 8:35 AM

I can’t believe they are still letting Wasserman-Schultz speak in public. They should have some other Democrat do it, like Pelosi or Clyburn or Biden or Hank Johnson.

On second thought, maybe they should stick with Wasserman-Schultz.

ABC’s This Week: Pastor Rick and Kay Warren; George Will, ABC; David Chalian, Yahoo!; Michael Eric Dyson, Georgetown University; Chrystia Freeland, Reuters; Peggy Noonan, Wall Street Journal

Dyson is the biggest BS artist. At a glance, he sounds intelligent. Then, you analyze what he said, and you have to include that all he’s done is swallow a thesaurus and tossed in a bunch of social science terms. He reminds me of Chicago’s former mayor Harold Washington.

Peggy Noonan just stuck it to Obama for his criticism of SCOTUS. She condescendingly described him as “an instructor of law” (which is correct) who seemed “unknowing” of certain constitutional facts. It was right after blowhard Dyson tried to argue that conservatives (and liberal whites, too) are objecting largely because Obama is black. Everything boils down to race for Dyson.

Debbie Wasserman Shultz’s phony crapola called “War on Women” is just that. Crap. Democrats must be desperate to hold on to power. I hope the American people are smart enough to see through the smokescreen. Unfortunately, many are not. If Obama said there is now a “War on Caterpillars,” the media would run with it.

Travis1 on April 8, 2012 at 9:48 AM

If you’re analogizing Warren to Dyson, I don’t see it. I don’t really like Warren much, but I caught most of Tapper’s interview with him. And I thought Warren did quite well.

BuckeyeSam on April 8, 2012 at 9:48 AM

The War Planner on April 8, 2012 at 9:54 AM

In what I emphasized, I don’t know what you mean, because as written it makes no sense.

Rick Warren’s not the only “minister” out there that mangles Theology and is considered significant due to market exposure alone. Many Christians I know rely on his insights simply because he’s written a best selling book.

If you’re analogizing Warren to Dyson, I don’t see it. I don’t really like Warren much, but I caught most of Tapper’s interview with him. And I thought Warren did quite well.

BuckeyeSam on April 8, 2012 at 9:48 AM

I suspect, not having watched the program, that anyone without a clearly defined political philosophy of their own might have viewed Dyson’s interview in much the same way.

KW64 on April 8, 2012 at 10:09 AM

Kasich did a good job on MTP with DNC dave of explaining to the socialist/regime loving Dirty Dick durbin that big govt. is not always the answer.
Kasich remarked,we cut taxes, balanced budgets, deregulated and overall created an atmosphere for business. None of which DNC dave or dirty Dick wanted to hear. Dirty dick spouted off the DNC chatting points of “27 months of economic growth more mfg. jobs and how wonderful the regimes edicts have been for the desperately failing economy.”
the question at the end of the day of course will be can the regime lie their way to yet another four or will freedom and democracy get another chance at the reigns of power?Jury is still out.

It’s just amazing the way the “Liberals” have created the “war” out of ONE comment that ONE person made (Rush Limbaugh).

Especially considering all that’s done everyday by “Liberals” to harm women; image issues, weight issues, judging women’s worth based on their looks, etc, etc.

I really wonder how many women are going to be won over by this charade?

A perfect example of the power of the MSM. Because it’s Easter, I will refrain from knocking Limbaugh, but we really can’t afford to be giving the Left easy ammunition like this.

As for how many women will be won over, it seems to be a fairly successful ploy so far. With the election seven months away, however, there’s time to counter this “war on women” nonsense. I can only hope that the RNC, super PACs, our presumptive nominee, etc., have a winning plan….

“He is Risen!”

“No, He’s not…”

BATCH FILE:
In DOS, OS/2, and Microsoft Windows, batch file is the name given to a type of script file, a text file containing a series of commands to be executed by the command interpreter.

CRON JOB:
cron is a time-based job scheduler in Unix-like computer operating systems. cron enables users to schedule jobs (commands or shell scripts) to run periodically at certain times or dates.

As a grumpy old sysadmin, either of these definitions amply describe Debbie Wasserman-Schultz…that glittering jewel of colossal ignorance. It is simply amazing that someone so galactically stupid holds any position of prominence and responsibility, in either Party.

DWS is nothing more than a python script parsing an aging XML file. (computer geeks are grinning at that. Trust me)

Why so sad in that photo, Debbie? Has the phony “war on women” gotten you down? Or is it the fact that most thinking Americans don’t buy into that narrative?

She’s angry because people don’t believe what she says just because she said it.

Allah: PLEASE no more mug shots of the wet poodle before noon (CALIF) time…

I almost lost my breakfast, and that just isn’t right…
