Only in California: suing to get children and adults together in the buff
posted at 12:30 pm on March 30, 2012 by John Hawkins
It’s hard to believe that there are actually parents who want their children to be walking at eye level with hundreds of naked, adult crotches, but then again, California has always attracted a lot of weirdos.
Desert Sun Resort owners and Orange County residents John and Elizabeth Young filed a lawsuit March 16 in Orange County Superior Court against 500 unnamed defendants asking a judge to rule that the resort’s policy against children does not violate state law.
KNX 1070′s Margaret Carrero reports the couple were dumbfounded when they received a letter last month seeking penalties and damages over their policy against allowing kids on their property.
…The lawsuit was filed in response to a letter the Youngs received Feb. 17 from Palm Springs attorney David Baron — written on behalf of “certain individuals” — which threatened legal action against the clothing-optional resort “for maintaining and enforcing a No Children Allowed Policy and a Couples-Only Day Pass Policy”.
“The first three years of business we allowed children, and we really felt that there was some kind of liability for a child being on property and maybe being photographed or worse,” Elizabeth Young said.
Baron disagrees and insists the policy is a “clear case of discrimination” fueled more by money than by protecting kids from pedophiles.
…She said the resort, which has 32 hotel rooms and 59 condominiums on six acres, gets more than 10,000 visitors a year from around the world, and 40 percent of them are first-time visitors. She said she cannot guarantee that every guest has good intentions toward children.
The resort prohibits public sexual behavior and the use of cameras, cell phones and laptops throughout most of the premises, but “violations do occur,” Young said.
Welcome to Obama’s America where you have a “right” to live in a tent in a city park as long as you call it protesting, free contraception, and where children may yet have the “right” to see men’s junk swinging in the ocean breeze in California.
This does seem extraordinarily silly, but on the other hand, it could turn out to be a bonanza for trial lawyers. After all, if this works, think of all the other adult activities they could sue to get children involved in. Strip clubs seems like a natural fit and hey, aren’t dating services discriminating against children by not allowing them to participate? How about ABC stores? Why can’t your kid buy a bottle to vodka to carry with her as she takes a nude stroll on the beach to unwind from a tough day of finger painting? Who could even oppose it at this point without engaging in — that’s right, you guessed it — a war on children.

Pure Marxism, in practice right before our eyes. Destroy the nuclear family; destroy religion; destroy traditional values. What’s frightening is that she feels so comfortable framing it in such blunt terms.

Done deal. Obamacare took care of that.
Maybe so.

Yes, she’s very smug, self-satisfied and confident about it all. As one would expect any good progressive to be.

If the collective is taking care of our kids, why can’t our kids find jobs? Why are so many of our kids getting shot?
The notion that government is benevolent is the scariest notion in existence. Government has 1 core power – the power to destroy. It uses that power to take away freedom in various ways. Sometimes it’s helpful – mainly when you have to fight off some other government. But for the most part, governments literally suck wealth and productivity out of society.
Government is a tick; and big government is just a fatter tick.

Great to hear! I want to send my kids to the Christian school their big sister went to, but I can’t afford it. You can send me the check and I will invest it in their quality Christian education! Oh, and if they are truant, will you go to jail pretty government lady?

We have only ourselves to blame. We allowed this to happen. While we slept, the educational system was infiltrated, subverted and rebuilt as a Marxist assembly line. Even the older Democrats, who wouldn’t go along with Reagans’ elimination of the Dept of Ed., didn’t forsee this.
…and here we are.
Government, as religion.

Trying to hijack the thread again, liveasaslaveanddie?
Or are you just too stupid to realize what the subject is?
Or – perhaps you’re in favor of “communally-owned” children? Got your eye on a cute little boy, do you?

Well, if you’re gay and can’t have your own children, or you abort any pregnancies that you have because they might be inconvenient, how else are you going to get control of young minds, other than by appropriating other people’s children?

“Once children are everybody’s responsibility….”
That’s an interesting phrase. But we have a saying, “If it’s everyone‘s responsibility, then it’s no one‘s responsibility.”
And this is the true end result of treating children like they belong to the whole society. Once you get into the notion that children are everybody‘s responsibility, then children will be no one‘s responsibility at all.
God was a little smarter than that. Children have a mother and father. Give more people than that responsibility for them, and everything will always be someone else’s job.

Common Core is being sold to me, HS science teacher, as nothing like that.
Now I know that is what it will bring in the end. Bcs I’ve watched these education fads come & go & when a state participates in Federal funding & programs, there are things that are ‘required’ of the state to eventually do.
Lind of like when you accept Federal disaster aid $$ as an agriculture business. Did you know this gives the Federal govt the right to stick it’s nose into your business? Hubby years ago accepted a total of $150 for the winter of 96-97 feed assistance from the Feds.
They came out for THREE YEARS & counted his cow numbers.
So when you let the Fed ‘take care of your business’, you open the door to let them further into your business.
And these rules are never published & when you ask one govt official versus another no one knows WTF is ever going on.
They literally make this $hit up as they go along.
The Fed & state have long put price tags on their favors.
IT is exactly why the people need to stop looking to the Fed & the state to be taken care of.
And for those of you who decry how some parents who homeschool aren’t teaching their kids the things you think they should be taught, I.e. religious parents who teach Creationism aka I.D. in lieu of scientific method based science:
while I think it’s a shame, it is NONE of my business what parents choose to teach their kids.
NONE.
If those same parents bring their kid to public school, then they also have every right to pull the kid from certain lectures they don’t agree with.
Kids ARE the property of their parents. And they have to be.
Badger40 on April 9, 2013 at 11:11 AM
First, though, they’ll have to take your guns.
Then they’ll take your kids … for the betterment of the collective.
How do they identify the kids to take?
Government-run early-childhood education will identify those that show promise in a particular field.
How to take the kids?
Make the parents so dirt poor (taxation, regulation, devalue the currency) that they will hand them over “for their own good”.
Where do we get this model of government accomplish?
China. Marxist Communism at its very core.
Everything in the progressive cause is interconnected for the common goal.

Good thing this psychotic little hag is only seen by old folks, who are forced to watch as McDonald’s streams her MSNBC bullshit for free, while the seniors get together for cheap coffee.
Hey Melissa, and all leftists who may feel like her…
You are now openly challenging me to a fight.
It was bad enough when Mike ‘disgustingly rich and elite’ Bloomberg decided he knew better than you how much Soda you should buy from 7-11.
It’s bad enough that you are trying to take firearms away from the citizenry, that they may not defend themselves from your tyranny.
It’s bad enough that you have forced socialized medicine on a country that doesn’t want it, and can’t use it…especially at a time when the greatest number of our population will need quality healthcare.
You threaten to take ownership of my daughter? lol…Come get her you vapid, sodding, communist little c*nt. I double-dog effing dare you. Oh, and while you are choking out your last breath of surprise and panic, remember..You started it.

Commmunism must break a person of their dependency on every thing other than the government…they even destroy the family unit and seek to replace parents with government. How strong can governments make this connection? Remember how Hitler brainwashed youth into turning in their own parents?
Obama’s friends, the Weathermen Underground – Ayers, dorn, etc – the terrorists who killed 1st responders, said they did not regret it, & wished they had killed more…Ayers, the guy in whose livingroom Obama announced his intent to run for office….they are now TEACHERS in colleges, dutifully engaged in brainwashing our kids.
– You’ve heard and read the news reports — teachers ordering students to stomp on the flag or the word ‘God’ or fail the course, belittling students for their views and attempting to push their own agenda instead…
Welcome to Obama’s world where he is keeping his promise of fundamentally changing the US!
I am just wondering when PATRIOTS will wake up and start fighting back and defending this country, our culture, our Constitution…

MHP elucidates:
I agree with every word of this?
Why don’t you?
chumpThreads on April 9, 2013 at 6:54 PM
It’s the parents who make up the community. This woman is ever so creepily treating the two (the “community” and the people who constitute it) as separate entities.
If she weren’t, there would be no need to make (or “clarify”) this statement at all.
TouchingTophet on April 9, 2013 at 7:03 PM
Really? Only the parents? What about everybody else who lives in the community?
Nonsesnse, she’s doing no such thing.
She had to clarify because of the right-wing freakout over the word “collective”. Notice, she didn’t take back a word of her initial ad. In fact, she doubled-down brilliantly.
Again, I challenge you or anyone else to disagree with one word of the quote I posted.
chumpThreads on April 9, 2013 at 7:21 PM
I didn’t say only the parents.
How convincing.
Let’s bring back the quotation you find so endearing:
The boldface parts are especially nauseating. Harris-Perry has no knowledge whatsoever of what the “communities” she’s talking about actually want for their children, nor of what’s good for those children. Her idea of “quality food to eat” is likely complete nonsense; ditto her idea of “terrific” schools (though, apparently, she’s not so fond of public ones, so maybe I’ll give her a break…). To insinuate herself (the first “we”) into how people, or even “communities,” raise their children rightfully curls upper lips across the country. Same with “we have to”; no, you don’t have to do anything save mind your own business and keep your nose out of ours.
The kindest interpretation of Perry based on this statement is an out-of-touch, bobble-headed moron wagging her finger at people she can’t hope to – indeed, doesn’t want to – understand. The more realistic one is a power-grubbing busybody who purports to know better than you do what’s good for your children, and is prepared to act on that ersatz knowledge whether you like it or not.
The decidedly un-realistic interpretation is someone who really, truly cares about the children – because if that were the case, she’d have said, “I believe wholeheartedly, and without apology, that communities have a collective responsibility for their own children” and left it at that.
