Video: “Occupy Unmasked” trailer

posted at 7:10 pm on March 19, 2012 by Allahpundit

Spring is here, which means warm breezes, bright foliage, and a new season of left-wing activists taking dumps in public. Two and a half dynamic minutes below to welcome them back from Stephen Bannon, director of “The Undefeated” and the new executive chairman of Breitbart News Network. (AB appears in the film and has a brief cameo in the trailer.) I’m surprised that things got so hairy at Zuccotti Park over the weekend. I thought the Democrats and labor would use the winter to rendezvous with local “Occupy” leaders and offer their organizational help if the occupiers would stop generating bad PR for the left already. Either the offer was rejected or I’m wrong about the outreach. And in fact, I probably am wrong: “Occupy” was and is useful to the Democratic establishment to the extent that Obama is in trouble electorally. The better the economy looks — and it does look a bit better than it did six months ago — the less willing prominent liberals will be to try to explain away why “women only” tents are needed at the campsites. At some point the net asset becomes a net liability. I hope for their sake that point doesn’t come during the protests planned for the Dems’ convention this year.

If you’re hungry for more after this, go watch a one-percenter get heckled at an “Occupy” rally for his success. “Make way for 50-million-dollar Michael Moore, everyone!”

I was going to write comments about the overall video (good one) but then I kept getting grossed out by Harry Reid and his creepy voice: he’s like a viper, a pit viper, some sort of reptile hissing away at humanity. And Nancy Pelosi: if ever there was an evil parental unit, she is it, congratulating and encouraging all the worst behaviors with head-pats and vanity plating – her actions leave little room to wonder just how some people breed and raise psychotics.

Overall comments, though: the Left’s increasing hysterics (a bit of which are captured in this video) prove that they are increasingly being identified as hysterics engaged in irrational thoughts, goals and behaviors. The more irrational — “louder” and more damaging toward others — the Left becomes, the more you know they’re aware that they’ve been seen for being so (and are, therefore, acting out).

It’s the same behavior by Left-pushers on Fox (since I don’t watch the other networks and the Left on Fox are my lone experience for the most part with the Left-politicos): the more and more often they respond to questions with yelling, tangential hateulness in blaming Bush, Republicans, etc., the more it’s proven that they’re both losing and losing because they’ve been exposed for being unsupportable.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, yes, but the Left IS a dry and rusty wheel. They’re not all the wheels, they’re just one among many others, though their obnoxious, damaging behavior creates the wrong impression that they are ALL wheels, they aren’t but if they were, they’d be busy not destroying everything.

The problem conservatives have with Occupy is that they’re right — we have created a self-perpetuating system withing which a small cadre of well-connected individuals perpetuate their own wealth while smashing down the American Dream. A small minority of Occupy people are deranged, and and any urban leftist action draws hangers-on, so the right — who while about the Wall Street bailout but are lining up to defend Goldman Sachs these days — focuses on the hippies and not on the facts.

To the extent that a decent public school system, tax rates that are the same for capital gains and for “earned” income, and a decent health care system are redistributive, yes.

As far as scalping rich people just for the fun of it, no.

Money invested has already been taxed once at the higher rate when originally earned, why should someone taking a risk through investment be taxed at the same rate twice? We have the best health care in the world and one of the worst education systems, which is private and which has far too much government interference?

Cindy Munford on March 19, 2012 at 8:39 PM

One of the consequences of such notions as “entitlements” is that the people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence. –Thomas Sowell

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama Presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their President. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Barack Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America.

Blaming the Prince of Fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their President. –Author Unknown

It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance. –Thomas Sowell

OWS’ers will never ever realize their full potential. It is a leaderless resistance movement consisting of riffraff with no cohesive goals whatsoever, other than their pathological penchant and demands for entitlement, and it’s bursting at the seams with bored and lazy beggars, deranged lunatics, criminals, junkies, predators and self-loathing trust fund babies drowning in white elitist guilt. OWS will not amount to anything more than a laughingstock.

I’m certain the film will be fantastic — and I really can’t wait to see the sequel.

Progressives are always very proud of themselves, constantly patting themselves on the back. Your friends at the Nation have gifted us with their 50 best progressives of the 20th century.

Quite a line up. They’ve been very successful. And what do we have to show for it? What does Greece have to show for it?

What we need is a great moderation. The problem with the Left is that there is no moderation…there are no feedback mechanisms to say okay, that’s enough…there is no understanding of the intricate consequences of government actions.

The Left tends to take things to the extreme…for example Catastrophic AGW.

Surely it’s time for climate-change deniers to have their opinions forcibly tattooed on their bodies. Not necessarily on the forehead; I’m a reasonable man. Part of the Occupy Movement message is correct, there needs to be reform in the banking and health insurance sectors. However:

1. The people who “perpetuate their own wealth while smashing down the American Dream” are the same people who supported the Occupy Movement and manipulated the movement for their own political gains, and those people are largely in the Dem party.

2. Obamacare not only didn’t fix health insurance it made things much, much worse.

3. The percentage of “deranged” occupiers is not nearly as small as Urban Elitist says. Judging from what I’ve seen the percentage of deranged occupiers to sane is in the 75/25% range minimum. It may not have started out that way but it is sure that way now.

urban elitist on March 19, 2012 at 8:28 PM

Obviously, you are oblivious to the nature of the individuals who are dominating the OWS “movement”.

By the way, when you say that we should tax capitol gains at a higher rate, do you even know what “capitol gains” are? (Most lefties do not – they only know that “capitol gains” is some kind of money that “rich” people have.) It is the increase in value of a commercial enterprise that is thriving. This is the sort of thing that we should be encouraging, not discouraging by laying heavy taxes on it. If businesses are not growing, then an economy declines or stagnates.

I do agree that there are abuses on Wall Street. But the “tax the rich” crowd are part of the problem, not part of the solution. In theory, Socialism is about taking money from the rich and giving it to the poor. But in practice, Socialism is about taking money from the productive and giving it to the politically well-connected.

If you look at the tab at the top called ‘Tools’, and pull it down, you will see a selection called ‘Add-ons’, click on that selection and you will get a pane that opens. This is how you add features to your basic Firefox browser. This is how we add extensions like AdBlock Plus to block ads, for example.

Will it let you open that pane?

slickwillie2001 on March 19, 2012 at 11:05 PM

No one should be surprised that things got so hairy at Zucotti over the weekend. The whole thing was set up as a hostile confrontation with the NYPD from the get go with the very specific directive coming from the top of OWS to provoke the police, and that they did with relish. Expect more.

What you’re wrong about is this: the Occupy movement is the purposely ugly face of the backstage planning of Van Jones and others. The point is to wreak such havoc and fear among the law-abiding that they will demand that the government step in and put a stop to this.

Then, the real problems will begin for America.

I see it. AdBlock Plus is part of the drop box on mine, not an add on.

Cindy Munford on March 20, 2012 at 12:13 AM

Good, that means somehow you or someone already added AdBlock Plus.

To add other extensions or add-ons, you select add-ons, and when the pane opens, select ‘Get Add-Ons’ on the left. Then in the ‘Get Add-Ons’ window, there’s a search window where you enter the name of the add-on that you want to look for. Once you find the one that you want, if you do, you click on it and it will install.

Now, think about whether you want to try NoScript or other add-ons that you have heard of.

You should also check under Firefox tab, and select Preferences/Options/Settings. When that pane opens, click on the ‘Advanced’ section on the far right. When it opens, select the General section on the left. There should be a box called ‘warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page’. Check that box and then sites like Hotair and Drudge will not be able to reload automatically.

Aw, how generous of you.

I give you credit for blasting the creep with the twitter account, but you do need to understand that people like him and those who do want to scalp the rich are the rule within OWS, not the exception. I have close relatives involved with one of the occupy movements here in the south, and they’ve had to try to pull back their fellow travelers more than once from signage that goes over the top or activity that would be, shall we say, counterproductive to their movement. These people have no interest in peaceful coexistence with folks like me and they have made no secret of it.

Oh, and I’m not rich either.
