Video: Biden booed in Pittsburgh …
posted at 10:25 am on March 19, 2012 by Ed Morrissey
I first saw this clip yesterday on the WPXI website, and now the RNC has it clipped and BuzzFeed reports on it more honestly than WPXI did in its written report. They barely mention the booing, noting only that “as [VP Joe Biden] made his way onto Stanwix Street, the warm reception faded and boos could be heard.” As the video shows, boos could not only be heard, they rained down on Biden. Biden handled it professionally, continuing to smile, wave, and ignore the taunting as any seasoned pol would do.
Still, booing a Vice President makes a pretty good story, one that would normally prompt a reporter to go out and get a couple of interviews. Is that what WPXI’s Brandon Hudson did? Not exactly, as you’ll see from about the one-minute mark forward:
Instead of checking out why people might be booing, Hudson talked with a giddy — and almost certainly tipsy — Obama/Biden supporter, who explained almost coherently why seeing Joe Biden was the greatest day in her life. In between cuts with the supporter, Hudson then explains how to use the “O’Bama” signs to build support for the ticket.
Even when people boo this ticket, the media seems intent on explaining how to get them another term. A great moment in local journalism, no?

I thought she said there was no cover up…just negligence..?
d1carter on April 16, 2013 at 12:45 PM
Why they want to cover it up is simple: Gosnell probably is fairly representative (though extreme) of your typical abortionist (I won’t call them doctors).
If you are depraved enough to make your living snuffing out innocent life, you are probably depraved in other areas. And, yes, abortion is a depraved activity, there is nothing NORMAL about wanting to engage in it. If I ever had to have surgery, you can bet I won’t allow any one who has done abortions to operate on me.
They don’t want this to lead to light being shed on other abortionists. Chances are your typical planned parenthood “clinic” more closely resembles Gosnell’s house of horrors than a hospital…

However, on the 1% exceptions she nails ‘em good.
She likely shamed the media into covering Gosnell.

We live in a truly bizarre world.
If a doctor badly botches surgery on say a 22 week child, he could go to jail. If said doctor intentionally kills said child, it is a “constitutional right”.

More children have been murdered by abortionists like Gosnell in this country than Hitler murdered Jews.

Example on the “sheeple” stage – a day after she wrote the great article about how derelict the media are she said on Fox “the media are not with Obama on anti-gun; they are just anti-gun because they are most all urbanites”.
It was her way to get her graces back to them. She’s done this often, especially when she nails the wild muzzies.
Schadenfreude on April 16, 2013 at 12:51 PM
Q: Who becomes an abortionist?
A: A sociopath.
Who else would dedicate their life to the taking of other lives? There is good reason why abortionists do not get respect in the general medical profession even by those physicians who are pro-abortion. A sane and rational man would not take up the profession of killing of the innocent. Make no mistake about it. Every abortionist has a little bit of the Gosnell in him/her and he is not only monster out there. He is the one who was so blatant that he got caught. In a perverse sense I have more respect for him than I do for those who wish to sanitize the abortion industry.
jerryofva on April 16, 2013 at 12:52 PM
VA just passed a law forcing abortion clinics to meet the same hygiene standards as other medical facilitates.
The left is arguing it will put them out of business.
If that is true, what does that say about your average abortion clinic?

Abortionists are the absolute bottom feeders of the medical community, and most of them are weirdos, so the trophy keeping doesn’t surprise me.
Ward Cleaver on April 16, 2013 at 12:54 PM
,
Absolutely. I am not even ready to consider Gosnell an outlier in ghoulishness. What other Gosnell is out there practicing because of passive aggressive pro-choice politicians, bureaucrats, and health officials?
I have said it again and again in attempting to break the dam on Gosnell: No says in their med school interview, “One day I hope to practice doing abortions.” Bad or ethically ghoulish docs or both are the abortion industry.
mwbri on April 16, 2013 at 12:54 PM
Exactly.
And such rhetoric from the left is easy to counter… “What, you don’t want abortions to be safe?!” “You want women to DIE during them?”
wildcat72 on April 16, 2013 at 12:54 PM
Oh, and where are the national Republicans on this?
Why aren’t we seeing legislation to strengthen bans on infanticide?
Why aren’t we seeing the creation of a special task force in the FBI to review what is going on in abortion clinics across America? THis butcher operated for decades because the local abortion lobby protected him. We’ve seen other abortion clinics helping to cover up statutory rape cases. It is obvious that state/local governments cannot or will not perform their duties in this regard.

wildcat72 on April 16, 2013 at 12:56 PM

Intellectually bankrupt as well.
PartisanHack may enjoy living its life with its head in the sand pretending these things aren’t happening, but the fact of the matter is that Gosnell is on trial for multiple murders.
Maybe if the murders were performed with an AR-15, it might have actually grabbed the attention of this mindless partisan twit.
UltimateBob on April 16, 2013 at 1:01 PM
Lol, nonpartisan,
Local stories abound with doctors like Gosnell. One fled our state to continue practicing medicine (they will catch up with him)–his body count is smaller than Gosnell’s. He ran a meat shop like Gosnell and you would not take your pets to this place. The “doc” had a friend on the state medical board. Complaints were not acted upon by the board. Lol indeed. It’s really funny, ghoul.
mwbri on April 16, 2013 at 1:01 PM
The republicans really need to run with Gosnell, and do it the same way that the gun grabbers do after any shooting. They need to hold big hearings. They need to hang this on Holder and Obama, as Holder’s wife owned the building Gosnell used for his clinic. They need to use the pictures of his victims to indict every pro-abortion democrat as a co-conspirator.
Its time to put the left on the defensive. Its time to make them defend the indefensible.

The WaPo editor said he didn’t hear about the story until very recently. That’s a mea culpa? They’ve covered the Arias trial for weeks in AZ. They covered Conrad Murray’s homocide trial in Los Angeles. But they can’t find their way two hours north to cover the purported murder of seven- most by late term abortion?
That’s a “sorry if I offended anybody” kind of mea culpa at best.

I was good friends with a young woman who I eventually found out was escorting other young women to abortion clinics. She use to spend time talking with my daughter (~10 – 12 at the time), mostly at pool parties, picnics, and other multi-family events.
When I found out her involvement in aiding and abetting abortions I talked to her about it. The parting shot I made in exiting the friendship was along the lines of ‘how could I ever trust you near my daughter again?’
RalphyBoy on April 16, 2013 at 1:12 PM
Yeah, the pro-murder crowd has been winning.
The VA law is being widely denounced as a return to back alley abortions (not that those ever existed in the first place). Apparently it is a right or something for women to go to places like Gosnell’s for abortion services.

How about the witness for the prosecution: “Benjamin, who testified he has performed 40,000 abortions over 30 years”
Doing some math and accounting for weekends, holidays, and vacations, Benjamin averaged the elimination of 6 human conceptions every working day.
But that’s OK, cause he’s not all freaky like Gosnell.

The women who are outraged that VA passed this law are not reasonable individuals. According to them, this cuts into the number of abortion mills because of the requirements to meet the new law (equipment, staff qualifications, etc). Plus the only part they really care about is the legal. Safe or rare, not so much.

Anti-lifers NEED to believe that abortion just sucks out a ball of tissue which in no way resembles a person.
Remove that falsehood, and support for abortion will crumble. Humanize the babies they’re slaughtering, and it will end.
Washington Nearsider on April 16, 2013 at 2:55 PM
Kudos to Kirsten Powers for exposing this. She is a pro-choice Democrat and worked for the Clinton and Gore campaigns, but she has probably become disgusted by the blood and gore (no pun intended) of Gosnell saving dismembered babies’ limbs as if they were a moose or buck’s head over a hunter’s fireplace.
She has enough credibility with the Left to get published in the MSM, and enough of a conscience to be sickened by their cover-up, and probably doesn’t want to be associated with such butchery.
Powers now writes that the only people who “obsessively” cover abortion are the “left-wing” media, which implies that she does not count herself as “left-wing”, and she may be on the verge of becoming pro-life. Whether or not that is true, what is more important than one pro-choice woman becoming pro-life is a left-leaning columnist having the courage to speak out against the extreme consequences of abortion, which is supported by her own party and generally opposed by Republicans. She could probably do more damage to the pro-abortion cause by writing about this than all the known pro-life writers, whose writings are largely ignored by Democrat voters.
But just as Democrats were ready to capitalize on the Newtown CT shootings to demand gun-control regulations, Republicans should also bring up the grisly Gosnell murders as the logical consequence of allowing late-term abortions of clearly viable babies, and point out that our holier-than-thou President was one of the few members of the Illinois Senate to speak out IN FAVOR of what Gosnell has done.
The Gosnell trial may be pushed out of the headlines for a few days because of the Boston Marathon bombing, but it should not be forgotten.

By “humanize the babies”, I suppose you mean make stuff about fetuses like this pro-life commenter did:
http://kingsjester.wordpress.com/2013/04/12/the-gosnell-case-american-infanticide/
I would oppose killing fetuses, if they were capable of such thoughts, or if they are doing calculus homework in the womb.
thuja on April 16, 2013 at 3:27 PM
Every cell in the woman’s body has her DNA.
Every cell in the baby’s body has its own DNA, distinct from that of the mother, and present from the moment of conception.
It’s not “her body”. It’s the body of another human being which is only temporarily resident inside her body.
If a woman wants to remove part of “her body”, for example the voluntary removal of one of her kidneys, she has every right to do so.
But if she wants to prematurely remove another human being’s body, with the express purpose of killing/terminating/aborting it’s life, then she is in direct conflict with the laws of nature and of nature’s God, which are the very foundation of this country:
Life itself is a God-given (Creator-endowed) unalienable Right. The mother does not have the right to take away the life of the child growing in her womb. It is our Government’s role to secure the unalienable Right to Life of that child.
Again, if a woman wants to remove part of “her body”, for example the voluntary removal of one of her kidneys, she has every right to do so.
But she does not have the right to take life away from anyone else, including the child in her womb. She does not have to raise that child, but at least let it live long enough to be born and put up for adoption.
ITguy on April 16, 2013 at 3:33 PM
No. By “humanize” I mean ‘show pictures of.’
Show a mother a picture of what is inside her at three months. Point out that it’s heart and brain are functioning and that it is capable of feeling pain.
It’s not ‘choice’ if you don’t know what you’re choosing between.
Washington Nearsider on April 16, 2013 at 3:36 PM
Cover up? No, just not newsworthy.
Consider the facts from a left-leaning journalists point of view.
What is the “crime”?
1) Illegal late-term abortion… which you think should be legal. Not really a crime at that point, so not newsworthy.
2) Partial or full birth abortion… which you think should be legal. Not really a crime at that point, so not newsworthy.
3) A messy opeating room for a doctor. Millions of those worldwide… do we report on all messy operating rooms as a national story? Nope.
The only “crime” they see is a doctor who was too messy doing what they believe should be legal and protected by law.
That’s why you don’t get a story… they can’t see one.
You have to get their viewpoint:
A fetus at 7 months is delivered from the womb…
A) IF the mother wants the child, this is a BABY and must be protected and have rights as a person.
B) IF the mother does NOT want the child this is still a clump of cells that can be disposed of without question as the mother’s right.
The “scientific” definition of a “baby” from the left requires you to know the thoughts of the mother to determine the biological reality of the “fetus”.
It doesn’t become a baby regardless of biology until the mother decides it gets to be a baby… whenever that occurs.
gekkobear on April 16, 2013 at 3:38 PM
That’s goofy. What in the world comes into existence at its full potential? Life should be seen as what it can become, not what it isn’t at any given moment.

Because the MSM WON’T do their jobs, because the MSM NEVER ask any tough questions anymore (unless its a conservative issue), because the MSM are COMPLETELY IN THE TANK for Obama, this corrupt government, and the leftist agenda I predict they will go down in flames. They see ad revenues going down, layoffs occurring, right leaning blogs soaring, Fox News soaring, CNN and MSNBC tanking and STILL they won’t do their jobs. Watergate is tiddlywinks compared to what Obama has been doing. Trampling the Constitution, ignoring the will of the majority, corruption, graft, outrageous spending…and what do we hear from the MSM….NOTHING!!! To h-ll with them! Evil b-tards!!!!
