American Mustache Institute claims Ron Paul’s support for the Stache Act

posted at 3:40 pm on March 19, 2012 by Tina Korbe

Why wouldn’t he support it? It’s just the kind of cause any libertarian would endorse: Government interference into personal grooming, a $250 tax credit for mustached Americans. It’s debatable whether the “mustache lobby” would actually be pleased if Congress passed its Stache Act; It’s looking increasingly probable that they’re just trying to make a point about all the absurd loopholes in our tax code. I couldn’t help cracking up at this video. It’s proof positive that we see what we want to see — and that life is more fun when we take ourselves a little less seriously.

Would this apply to “bearded” women as well?

Are fake eyebrows covered under the Stache Act?

JPeterman on March 19, 2012 at 3:44 PM

I can’t support this bill because it denies sluts access to Brazilian waxes.

The American Mustache Institute’s interview with Aaron Rodgers is one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard.

Welfare specifically for those with facial hair? Gee – what a great idea.

Ron Paul has mustaches over both eyes is why!

KOOLAID2 on March 19, 2012 at 4:02 PM

This isn’t a taxation issue – under the Commerce Clause – Congress has the power to mandate either the existence, or non-existence, of the moustache.

You ask – how is it possible that the moustache has an effect on interstate commerce?

Well – in order to have a moustache, one must shave. If one must shave, one must have a razor. If one must have a razor, said razor must be produced and shipped across the country … voila.

How is a tax credit “welfare”? A tax credit allows you to keep more of your own money, it doesn’t give you someone else’s.

How thick does my mustache have to be? I’ll grow a goatee if I can save some money….

In the end it sounds like more of the Republicans’ war on women since most women don’t have mustaches.

jeffn21 on March 19, 2012 at 4:06 PM

I also hereby support the Stache Act.

APPLYING ALINSKY RULE 4: MAKE THE ENEMY LIVE UP TO ITS OWN RULES. — A “tea party leech” is deemed a “tea party leader” in our local press after he is arrested for rape. This belies that fact that there have been 75 rapes in the Occupy camps, so examples of alternative headlines to suggest in the “Comments” sections of offending sites is offered. “Occupy” is a subsidiary of the “War in Women”: A Tea Party is one of the safest place for women in the world.

Mutnodjmet on March 19, 2012 at 4:13 PM

But, but, but, wouldn’t that discriminate against women?

Steve Z on March 19, 2012 at 4:15 PM

Ya know — there really is nothing quite as breathtaking as a lovely young lass with a lovely stache chowing down on a corn dog, and getting a tax break to boot.

Ain’t that right, Tina?

;P

Only the virtual kind, but a brilliant observation nonetheless.

Mustache Rides for pot-smokers?

what a ridiculous distraction.

I’d shave my back-hair into a heart for $250.00.

Power to the Mustache Lobby!!!

I think I could grow a mustache long enough to claim the credit, then shave it off.
