Video: Obama campaign running ads against … Sarah Palin?

posted at 10:25 am on March 12, 2012 by Ed Morrissey

Looks like Team Obama really has decided to go all in on a nostalgia-based campaign.  A month after producing their first campaign film, which managed to avoid talking about Obama’s presidency for more than half of its four-plus minutes to focus on the 2008 campaign instead, the Obama campaign has published a new fundraising ad that takes aim at their opponent … in 2008 (via Gateway Pundit and Breitbart TV):

Party like it’s November 2008!

The impetus for Sarah Palin’s remarks are apparently the debate over Obama’s support for Derrick Bell, the radical Harvard professor who championed “critical race theory,” which states that the American political system is designed to oppress minorities and perpetuate white supremacy.  Does the Obama campaign really want to open that topic up for a national debate?  Running ads like this will force the media to cover the topic.  Wouldn’t they have been better off just ignoring the attack, and Palin — especially since she can fire up the Republican base better than the potential nominees can at this point?  If this is the kind of strategery Team Obama will deploy this year, Republicans have a lot less to worry about than previously thought.

As long as we’re partying like it’s November 2008, though, let’s once again take a nostalgic look at this Obama ad attacking George W. Bush on gas prices:

There are plenty more where that came from. Now that Obama can’t run on the economy or gas prices, what does he have left?  If it’s only Sarah Palin, Obama’s looking pretty desperate.

I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that just about all of the Palin hate from the republican establishment is Romney’s and his bot’s doing. It’s one of the major reasons I won’t vote for him. It’s one of the major reasons I left the party. And, it isn’t just that they did it to Palin. It’s that they would do it to any decent republican that simply got in their way.

No good can come from giving power to someone who lusts after it so much that they would do a thing like this.

We can do better than Sarah Palin. Let’s quit holding her up and anointing her as some kind of leading conservative voice.

Okay, I am game. Like who? Until someone better comes along that shares and articulates my views I’m stick with Sarah.

Really, really dumb move. If THEY are bringing up 2008, then all the radical and vetting info becomes fair game. Also, they give Ms. “Irrelevant” Palin relevancy. Can’t wait for her response. Major unforced error.

Dude that was one of the funniest things I have seen in a while?
Team WTF? LOL! How perfect!

Seriously Obama, nice job giving Ms. “Irrelevant” the perfect opening to blast you into next week.

You know it’s coming. She is going to crush this one…. I can’t wait!

Oh, goodie, another Palin flick. Does Sarah get any royalties outta this deal? You’d think the greatest campaigner evah would pick on actual candidates. Course she does come on strong when she’s picking on the Won.

Who cares? She’s not running. Let Obama waste his money and time and energy on attacking someone who’s not in the running. If all Palin is is a distraction, she serves some purpose beyond the uselessness that so many of her Republican colleagues accuse her of.

Ouch….

Just off the top of my head, a few of these concerning issues include: a debt crisis that has us hurdling towards a Greek-style collapse, entitlement programs going bankrupt, a credit downgrade for the first time in our history, a government takeover of the health care industry that makes care more expensive and puts a rationing panel of faceless bureaucrats between you and your doctor (aka a “death panel”), $4 and $5 gas at the pump exacerbated by an anti-drilling agenda that rejects good paying energy sector jobs and makes us more dependent on dangerous foreign regimes, a war in Afghanistan that seems unfocused and unending, a global presidential apology tour that’s made us look feeble and ridiculous, a housing market in the tank, the longest streak of high unemployment since World War II, private-sector job creators and industry strangled by burdensome regulations and an out-of-control Obama EPA, an attack on the Constitutional protection of religious liberty, an attack on private industry in right-to-work states, crony capitalism run amok in an administration in bed with their favored cronies to the detriment of genuine free market capitalism, green energy pay-to-play kickbacks to Obama campaign donors, and a Justice Department still stonewalling on a bungled operation that armed violent Mexican drug lords and led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent people.

I’m sure I missed a few things, but the list is just for starters.

Mark Levin said he’ll donate $50,000 to Obama’s campaign if
he’ll agree to a 1 hour debate anywhere but his house (bunker).

Made that challenge that about a half hour ago on his show.
