Quotes of the day

posted at 11:05 pm on March 8, 2012 by Allahpundit

“Another pig….and a media association has hired the pig, Louis C.K., to be their headliner for the big media dinner? Really? I am not going. I refuse to go. Everyone in the media should join me in this boycott…

“He uses filthy language about women…..yes, the C word…and yes, even to describe a woman candidate for Vice President of the United States. It isn’t just Governor Palin he denigrates. He denigrates all women and looks to the crowd to laugh…

“I hope all the other women and men in the media join me in not going.”

***

“But Maher doesn’t have sponsors like Limbaugh does!” cry the left-wing Maher enablers. Yes, but he does have an endless stream of high-profile liberals parading through his studio. In fact, it was reported that none other than David Axelrod, who on Wednesday attacked Mitt Romney for his insufficient outrage over Limbaugh’s sexist rant, is set to visit the Maher show to kiss the ring of the Misogynist One. Also, I’m no genius, but doesn’t HBO run his show? Couldn’t liberals boycott HBO?

Rush Limbaugh is justifiably boycotted for calling a woman a “slut” and a “prostitute,” but the man who used the c-word, twat and boobs to refer to Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann is getting a visit from a top Democratic strategist. Liberals have demanded that GOP leaders denounce Limbaugh, but President Obama, who has opined repeatedly on the Limbaugh controversy, refuses to denounce Maher. This despite the fact that Maher has made a high-profile $1 million donation to Obama’s super PAC, which is run by longtime Obama aide Bill Burton.

But remember: liberals care deeply about misogyny.

***

Mr. Maher, who disagrees with Sarah Palin’s politics, has called her a litany of adjectives inappropriate to repeat in any setting and are of the most derogatory of terms reserved for only violent verbal hate crimes against women. We understand that he has donated $1 million dollars of his personal money paid to him through various businesses that thrive on the ratings of his hate speech to your Priorities USA Action to aid in your efforts to re-elect President Obama.

President Obama eloquently stated today in his press conference that, “all decent folks can agree that the remarks that were made don’t have any place in the public discourse.”

We are certain you agree with him, as do we that these types of remarks have no place in our society and the people that unapologetically make them must not be allowed to purchase a seat at the table of public discourse. Therefore, we are calling on Priorities USA Action and you to live up to the standard set by President Obama and take Mr. Maher’s million dollars and pay it forward.

Gov. palin gives the GOP so much cover because over the last 4 years all the hate & venon that has been thrown at her. Yet, it’s the GOP establishment swine that attack her as much as the left; think the bush family & hack supporters, Rove, Coulter, krauthammer, O’reilly, et al. Then they wonder why their is a split between conservatives and those rino dogs in the beltway.

Listen you tools, who pick our candidates and live off our money, maybe if you start backing Gov. palin once in a while I’ll think about voting for one of your chosen ones.

By the way, can we say adios to the bush family, they have destroyed conservatism more than any family in history!

I also hope everyone has the courage to stand up to this.

Greta has principles.

The Fluke display may turn against them…and soon.

Let us see who loves/respects women, and who don’t.

Right now, Obama stands with the Taliban, really. He has not spoken against Karzai’s new sharia rules/laws. Until he does he is the same as them.

He also is pro Maher. Lefties hate women and people, in general. They just like moochers on their plantations, so the Looters can live like emperors.

I hope not, we’re certainly getting Maher’s money’s worth out of the relationship. Besides, I don’t think Obama can legally coordinate with his SuperPAC – not that legalities have botchered him in the past, but this is his reelection we’re talking about, and that’s a big f’ing deal as Biden would say.

I kinda like him. His show is great.

I don’t know what it is about these comedians that makes them just go all hate/rage when it comes to politics. I’d maybe get it if they were funny still, but good comedians start to think using dirty words and calling people names is the height of comedy when it comes to republicans. They stop being funny and get that weird look in their eyes.

I don’t have a problem with him saying what he says as much asI have a problem with democrats embracing him for it after. I’m not sure we should expect more from comedians. But we’re supposed to demand more from politicians.

narciso on March 9, 2012 at 12:02 AM

I saw the Mikado tonight. There’s a section in the opera to ad lib and insert current cultural milieu. In the course of this 3 minute section they mocked Newt Gingrich (“the former speaker of the house with rich SuperPACS), Michelle Bachmann with the performer making crossed eyes, Pat Robertson, a shout out to the 1%, and calling the Tea Party “Tea Baggers.” There was a passing reference to big government and raising taxes at the beginning, but it got lost in their litany of these other attacks. I made a point of speaking to someone in charge on the way out and got contact info for the head honcho. It’s a shame because the performance was amazing besides that garbage. BUT if we don’t speak up and push back, they’ll think they can get away with this garbage. Enough.

this entire episode is a distraction for the peasants.

Obama has never shifted. He’s always been the same guy. But he adjusts to the conditions of his environment. He’s not mainstream; he’s about moving the mainstream.

Read McCarthy if you want to know what’s up. Many people have thought this for some time…but i’ve not seen a clearer description of Obama that this

http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/293014/re-obama-crits-andrew-c-mccarthy

Obama has set in motion the apparatus for a very different country…both domestically and internationally. The chances a good that Obama will be seen 50 years from now as a transformative figure…and I suspect a hero in the eyes of future Americans

Yes, there is a reactionary segment…but they (to use McCarthy’s term) feckless. The opposition is weak…and tend to be scattered

I’ve not seen any R show up who can seriously articulate the problem…and too be fair, how many pols want to go up against the sheer rage of the machine (cf. CNN)…We would like someone to stand up against the casual epithets sputtered out by the left (cf. CNN) but really…what pol is going to do that.

I’m not making myself clear. I believe and celebrate free speech. The guy is a douche bag and the only reason he said it was to piss of the right and make the left get a fuzzy hate high.

But I don’t want to silence the guy. I don’t want his show taken of the air.

The problem I have is with the left embracing such a guy and then the MSM and the left getting away with acting like the morally superior people in this country. I’d rather point out that hypocrisy than silence someone.

I’m kinda glad to see Bill Maher speak for democrats.

Ampersand on March 9, 2012 at 12:13 AM

I’m really sick of this game. The only time the left OR the right get all hot and bothered about insults at a woman, or women in general is near election times.

It only gets worse after the shock and indignation over an insult at a female dies down. From then it goes to gays then sinks to the ever ready to play race card.

I suppose if a liberal were to honestly discuss an issue instead of switching the subject, hurling invectives, and flat out lying, their heads would explode and baby Jesus would start killing kittens.

So, what exactly is it that you “kinda” like about him again? Because from what I can tell he has absolutely no redeeming features.

cynccook on March 9, 2012 at 12:16 AM

Once again, this is all falling Rush’s way. Now the fire is on the double-standards of the media. Weird how these things morph.

John the Libertarian on March 9, 2012 at 12:16 AM

You guys wear out libtard4life or something?

Lanceman on March 8, 2012 at 11:52 PM

No..lobotomy4life was on a couple of threads a time or two this morning….probably ran out of diapers and has to stay on the pottie, till mom brings home more.

KOOLAID2 on March 9, 2012 at 12:16 AM

I do not find any of Louis C.K. and Maher’s words funny in the least bit. Let the double standards and the foul an disgusting behaviors of the lefties/liberals hang out for all to see. The GOP needs to hammer those points in.

galtani on March 8, 2012 at 11:22 PM

Yeah – I think that’s the part that gets me. They go into this “they’re comedians” defense…none of it is funny! They simply use stand=up comedy as an excuse to spew vulgar insults at someone. There is literally zero comedic value to it.

I dunno – but if that’s what it takes to make a liberal chuckle – it must be a pretty miserable existence otherwise. I can’t see myself scrambling to free up 60 minutes a week to watch Maher hurl that garbage around.

Take him where and do what with him? *genuinely bewildered face*

Here’s to hoping libfreeordie shows up soon to extol the virtues of Critical Race Theory and Derrick Bell as a kind gentleman who thinks the world of “us people”.

Oh, I assure you the left realizes it. The trolls will increase exponentially before it’s over.

Now. This thread is boring. Can we get some trolls here? Fishface? DBag? Anyone?

a capella on March 9, 2012 at 12:23 AM

Louis CK is awesome.

freshface on March 8, 2012 at 11:38 PM

Sadly the dude is funny. Look him up on YouTube and you’ll see his regular standup stuff is good(and BTW, look up Dane Cook immediately after and you’ll see he got all his material from Louis). That’s why I don’t understand why he waded into this filth with those horrible remarks about Palin.

It’s not like Janeane Garofalo who has no talent and was never a good standup comedian. She has to traffic in hate in order to keep herself relevant. Louis CK should be better than this and is alienating half the country instead of shutting up about politics and just telling his jokes.

Him telling Sleep Train to pound sand will be a bigger story than anyone realizes. THAT is the kind of stuff that opens eyes.

With that one move – he was able to issue a heartfelt apology to SlutFluke, and with the denial of Sleep Train’s money – he was able to tell the whole world that he still thinks she’s a slut.

To those that didn’t think he knew what he was doing all along – you stand corrected.

The guy gets up in the morning – has a cup of coffee and a cigar, and victory just pours out of his @$$.

In my experience, there are two kinds of liberals. The first is the stereotypical “bleeding heart” who sees the world as a celebration of unicorns and rainbows and who believes that everyone is good and that if we only shared and shared alike everthing would be perfect. The other type is what I call the ‘toxic liberal. These people are so consumed by self-loathing on such a deep level that they’re not even really aware of how it controls their lives. They project everything that they hate about themselves onto the rest of the world. Truth be told, they despise not only themselves but everyone else. They want to destroy our society not so much from a burning desire to help those less fortunate but from an uncontrollable urge to crush and destroy those who are happy and successful. These are the people who talk about how much better the Earth would be if there were no people on it. Both types are equally dangerous.
