Just suppose the unthinkable – Romney/Palin. Mittoast needs some conservative cred with the base. Given that he is struggling to put away Rickie, Newt and Paul a Sarah pick might be in the cards. Would certainly help shore up the base and allow Mitt to drive to the center. Gray matter would be splattering many a monitor screen if it happened, both sides of the aisle.

Sarah Palin= nails on a chalkboard= Dumb and Dumber

nparga23 on March 7, 2012 at 2:29 AM

With respect, no, she didn’t.

The brilliant people–supposing you’re being honest and weren’t one of them–told her not to turn the primary into a farce by getting into it.

I personally thought the only way to rehabilitate her image with the I’m-so-informed-because-I-get-my-news-from-SNL crowd was to go through the process. But Obama’s economic and energy policies have left the door wide open while no Republican seems capable of stepping through.

Sarah’s voice may grate on your nerves–like GHWB’s did mine–which is all the more reason to listen to her words when she gives speeches. The woman has the guts to push any top-ticket candidate through the open door to the Presidency, and she reaches broad Democratic constituencies without pandering.

And if you are really a conservative, you should want the candidates on the ticket who can best help our country avoid fiscal ruin–whether you like their hair, voice, accent, wardrobe, spouse or 3-point shot.

But maybe I’m giving you too much credit.

rwenger43 on March 7, 2012 at 2:55 AM

Palin is a non-entity. Alaska went for Romney, the guy she has been jabbing for months. Her chosen candidate came in last at 14%.

echosyst on March 7, 2012 at 3:06 AM

But maybe I’m giving you too much credit.

rwenger43 on March 7, 2012 at 2:55 AM

Unfortunately, you are…

Gohawgs on March 7, 2012 at 3:17 AM

Palin is the One! She has the energy and she would have had the nomination early.

To those that didn’t see that, you cannot see past the lesser of all evils. You either think Mitten’s is your choice, with a record of flip-flopping. He’s our John Kerry, who once served in Viet Nam, only he changes his mind to pander for votes. A resume’ on display, that doesn’t include Romneycare and how he courted the Obama regime on how to make it work.

Gingrich self destructed long ago and that shows. Santorum had the consistency like Palin, the conviction and the belief in the American people. Palin would bring an energy like that in 2008, and in 2012, would have definitively won. Despite what the polls and talking heads would have told you, Palin is the one.

Now we have, apparently, an empty suit. Much like the one that occupies the White House today. Except he’s not from the church of hate, he’s from the church of Massachusetts liberalism. Make no mistake about it, Romney will NOT repeal Omancare. He will try to fix it and we will twirl down the rathole of socialism.

He panders for votes. He has changed his mind like the trade winds change with our seasons. He doesn’t even campaign on repealing Obamacare, he campaigns on his resume’, the resume’ that doesn’t include Romneycare.

For that matter, none of the candidates are campaigning against Obama’s policies. They are too busy attacking themselves.

When your opponent is losing, you do not help them. This is why Obama will win. Questions?

Kini on March 7, 2012 at 3:52 AM

A good example of how stupid some of the people posting here can be is the “accusation” that Romney is equivalent to Ike.

Of course, the left dismissed and ridiculed Ike, but over time even liberal scholars have had to give him his due. He did manage to oversee our retooling as a consumer economy while restraining the communist tide, no small achievements.

Adjoran on March 7, 2012 at 5:06 AM

B.A. Moderate on March 7, 2012 at 6:23 AM

What do the Romney supporters think Romney is going to do if the Democrats keep the Senate? What kind if judges do they think he’s going to appoint if there’s a Democrat Senate? How conservative is he going to be if in 2014 the Democrats win back the House?

He’s going to be exactly what he was in Massachusetts. He said he had to appoint lib judges because he had a Democrat legislature. He said he had to support lib policies because he had a Democrat legislature. On a good day he is going to be a moderate. When the winds blow for the Democrats… he’ll be what he is, a Democrat with a nice tan, good hair, a big smile and an “R” behind his name.

I believe in miracles. That’s what we will need if Romney is the GOP nominee. God help us. But then why would He if we have decided as a nation that we think we’d be better off without Him.

Dear Mitt:Ignore the man in the bow tie
March 6 2012
************

Dear Mitt:
**********

Consider me a neighbor leaning over the picket fence. You have a picket fence, don’t you? An ivy-covered wall? Fine, I’ll get a ladder.

This is what I want to say: Pay no attention to that man in the bow tie. Just because George Will says something doesn’t make it so. Just because he has written you off as unable to defeat President Obama, don’t believe it. This isn’t over.

Also, not in any way to compare these two: Do not fear Rush Limbaugh. When he utters something repugnant, say so. When he calls a young woman a “slut” on the public airwaves, do not say you would not have chosen those words. Be offended! Be outraged! Do you need Limbaugh’s base to win? Are those really your people? You had an opportunity to establish yourself as a leader and missed it. Though not irreparable, this is a shame and is symptomatic of what ails your campaign. Too eager not to offend, you are reluctant to say what is true.

You have my sympathies. At this point in the campaign, your autopilot has been recharged to within an inch of its life. You’ve said the same things so many times, you’re not sure you believe them anymore. You don’t remember what it’s like to kick back and enjoy a quiet cup of cocoa by the fire. You’re winning, but it feels like you’re losing. (Thanks, George.)

It’s interesting how a strong woman sends some self believing “manly men” into such a tizzy about how stupid she must be. Truth be said, if you came up against her you would probably pee yourself.
You have the answers, then get out there and try to make your case without the tired cutdowns we are all used to seeing and reading about her.
If no one thought she had leadership abilities she would be a dead issue. Even those who can’t stand her see there is something to fear about her or they wouldn’t waste their time on her.

Mostly by the same half dozen crazies posting over and over and over.

Palin is over. The very mention of her name is poison. She should go keep a lower profile and come back in a couple of years for a fresh look.

She single handily killed Newt’s campaign by being associated with it. Some kingmaker she turned out to be. You can’t be a kingmaker when half of the country hates your guts.
