Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads
posted at 8:00 am on March 4, 2012 by Allahpundit
Whole lotta Newt this morning as he guns for one last surge in time for Super Tuesday. Santorum and Ron Paul will appear too, but the most interesting topic across the dial will be Breitbart’s legacy. Howard Kurtz and his guests plan to address it on “Reliable Sources.” “Fox News Sunday” likely will touch on it too.
The line-up via the LA Times:
State of the Union With Candy Crowley Super Tuesday: GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich. Super Tuesday: GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul. 2012 White House and Congress: Ron Brownstein; Dana Bash. President Obama’s AIPAC speech: Martin Indyk; Nick Burns. President Obama’s AIPAC speech: Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.); Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Md.)…
Face the Nation GOP presidential candidates Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul; Panel. John Dickerson; Norah O’Donnell; Michael Gerson, the Washington Post.
Meet the Press 2012 politics; GOP legislative strategy: Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.).President Obama’s re-election effort: Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.).
This Week With George Stephanopoulos Super Tuesday: GOP Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich. The general election: Obama campaign advisor David Axelrod.
Fox News Sunday Super Tuesday: GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum. Foreign policy; Afghanistan; Iran: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.); Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.). Georgetown Basketball Coach John Thompson III. Panel: Bill Kristol; Jeff Zeleny; Kimberley Strassel; Juan Williams.

A rare hat tip to CBS for having 2 of its 3 guests “Rs”..
hillsoftx on May 5, 2013 at 8:14 AM
Carney stating “Benghazi happened a long time ago” makes it over right? Seriously… is ANYONE but US listening? I predict it goes absolutely nowhere due to the dictator deeming it so!
justonevictory on May 5, 2013 at 8:19 AM
“What difference at this point does it make…Benghazi happened a long time ago…” Obama Administration Meme.
workingclass artist on May 5, 2013 at 8:23 AM
A rare hat tip to NBC and Fox News for having more conservative republicans on their show this week. Media bias indeed.
HotAirLib on May 5, 2013 at 8:30 AM
You cannot reasonably argue there is no liberal media bias. You should celebrate it as a liberal. You should be saying “Suckaz, we even use your own tax dollars to fund the most liberal leaning media of all, PBS and NPR. We collectively laugh in your punk Conservative faces and dare you to do anything about it.”
hawkdriver on May 5, 2013 at 8:39 AM
If you haven’t seen it, Weekly Standard has a nice piece detailing Benghazi……if it plays out according to their info, prison uniforms need to be ordered…
hillsoftx on May 5, 2013 at 8:39 AM
So, we, here at Hot Air, are all racist and stuff…because we call them illegals…
But, when Obama says… “It would provide a pathway to earned citizenship for the 11 million individuals who are already in this country illegally” when talking to Mexico about Mexicans (and others) saying they are illgally here is something different???
And, back on topic…Warren Buffett….what’s he gonna talk about today?
How he is paying his fair share and Berkshire is having to cut back, live within their means and all the rest becvause of the economy?
Or, is he just gonna sit there and chuckle…”I am rich, filthy rich, sooo stinkin’ rich that God wants a loan, that rich, yep…that effin’ rich…but let’s support my dearest and closest friend Obama…that’s the only Buffett Rule that really matters.”
As for Ben what’s his name…he died a year ago, February…so what does it matter?

Watching liberals on talk shows confirms that liberalism is a serious brain disease and will soon qualify under the disabilities act or maybe they already do the way the disability roles are swelling.

Sen. Lindsey Graham said on Saturday that once Americans hear the testimony of three State Department survivors of the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Libya next week, “it’s going to make you mad. It’s going to make you upset.”
“Come Wednesday, you’re going to start hearing the truth about Benghazi,” the South Carolina Republican told former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee on his Fox News program.
“Our people were abandoned. They were denied assistance,” Graham said in the interview.

Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-MA doesn’t think well sitting on his ass or standing on his feet. He just blamed R’s for playing “keep away” with Benghazi investigation information.
ExpressoBold on May 5, 2013 at 9:12 AM
I understand that Benghazi witnesses are ready to talk after seven months of silence. Makes me wonder who muzzled them and who scripted them to suddenly spill their guts about what happened. I also wonder what promises will be awarded when they do this. Does the Secretary Of State come to mind for Hillary? How about the exodus of that position too? Many fell on their sword defending the King. Can’t wait for the books to come out after 2016 telling us what happened in the last eight years.
mixplix on May 5, 2013 at 9:14 AM
Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-MA gets it right that the talking points were changed and that the video had nothing to do with the attack. Called talking points “scrubbed,” a victory of “hope over reality.”
ExpressoBold on May 5, 2013 at 9:16 AM
Except most ‘Americans’ *won’t* hear it. They’ll either be too busy doing crap, or even if they are trying to be ‘aware’, they’ll be watching libtard channels that simply won’t tell them the truth.

Indeed, definition –
1: without any question : truly, undeniably — often used interjectionally to express irony or disbelief or surprise
2: in reality
3: all things considered : as a matter of fact
.
I looked this up just to clarify how commenters are using this word. Its use as an ironic interjection seems to be prevalent among pseudo-intellectuals.

Meet the Press hosts Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif., Rep. Tom Cotton, R-Ark. and former Speaker Newt Gingrich
Face the Nation hosts Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., and Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, D-Md.
This Week hosts businessman Warren Buffett, former Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., and former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.
Fox News Sunday hosts Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-Mass.
State of the Union hosts Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin and Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y.
Big government loving tools (except Chaffetz……maybe, and Demint who is comes across as a squishy, mealy mouthed Conservative…..sorry, calls em like I sees em).

The Media that the average LIV pay little attention to will offer limited coverage.
What about Fast & Furious? Most voters have never heard of it…and many that have think it’s a failed GWB program.
Preezy Obama is teflon.
King Obama effectively shut that down with executive privilege and went to Mexico this week to tell them American guns smuggled into their country were killing their citizens so he was doing everything he could to kibosh our 2nd amendment for y’know to save the children…Yeah he said that with a straight face.
If Impeachment hearings begin Americans will be baffled by those extremist homophobic meanies going after their messiah for political reasons.

He is doing something, alright.
Congressman Issa? First, I think the noise you are noticing is what passes for ammunition in Washington. Noise of his type is the flying shot in the air while the birds fly overhead after what they want to accomplish.
Achievements are rare in his area and take a long time but the “shame” and “embarrassment” of spotlighting scandals or bad practices to date has enabled him assert influence. No question, whether you like him or not, he is an exciting guy and a very hard worker.
Just watch how MSNBC describes him to see how conservative he is.
Libs expect a performance like his from Senator Warren from Massachusetts but they will probably be disappointed.

RINOS? They are political refugees who go home on vacation.
Counting R’s and D’ doesn’t really convey the bias.
They ain’t RINOS, they are political refugees from the depths of the Dems!
I am convinced that several R’s (like the last two POTUS candidates) would have come up in the ranks of D’s except for a list of reasons. First, white males were not the flavor of the month in the Dem dream list, not having a lefty fighting or working patch would hurts, a good military record makes more R’s go weak in the knees and maybe most jurisdictions have larger cracks which the minority party needs to fill.
IlikedAUH2O on May 5, 2013 at 12:04 PM
I bet I missed former Rep. Harman already. Did anyone see it? When she was in Congress, I thought she was one of the Democrats that took DOD and the security of the country seriously. Has she been reduced to party talking points now?

Mrs. Jaibones is in her element. Politics fades to black.
Jaibones on May 5, 2013 at 3:37 PM
In my opinion there seems to be two separate tracks on this Benghazi matter.
First there is the Governments favorite gun running operation. Using the CIA and working through the Embassy in Libya into “Friendly” (Turkey? and Jordan?) countries into countries (Syria?) that we want to be friendly in the future. Nothing new here. Countries have been doing this since time began. All well documented all low key but not denied. Some times they are new items that are hidden from public view through operations like Home Land Security and their BagPipes but mostly left overs like the weapons from Libya after the fall of Gaddafi. Personally one may not agree with the practice BUT with the exception of some minor infractions, not a major earth quake. SEE: Oliver North
Second is the “COVER-UP” for personal and political gains in the re-election of Obama. This is where the true, inexcusable criminality takes place. People daily put their lives on the line to serve their country only to find out that they are only expendable pawns to the Political Party establishment. This is why it should not, can not and will not go away until one or more of the people are held accountable for their crimes against Democracy. SEE: Richard Nixon
In Drawing up the Charge Sheet, There is a tendency to add everything you can think of in the hope that you can prove some of them. The smart Charge sheet is the one that has fewer items on it that can be proven be on a doubt and impossible to defend against.
The Charge of “COVER-UP” for personal and political gains in the re-election of Obama stands as very well documented and has high provability.
It is my opinion that this will play out that careers of “Clinton, Holder and Rice” will all be toast as well as a hoard of unnamed lesser staff. If Obama will be impeached by the current Republican Houses and Tried in 2014 by the new Republican Senate. SEE: Clinton, Holder and Rice RUN and HIDE
The downside to this is we will have two or more years of President Bidden.
