Stop helping the left spread the lie that gay marriage is illegal. Name one instance inthe past 20 years where a gay couple got arrested/fined/punished for getting married, whether in a church, in a house, on a beach, wherever. Gay marriage is not illegal. The only thing is that gay marriage is not recognized by many state governments. There is a difference.

You want to see what it’s like when certain marriages are actually illegal? Talk to the poeople who have been arrested for interacial marriage.

This election cycle was supposed to be dominated by jobs and the economy, but, lately, social issues have saturated the news cycle.

Well I for one am certain it has nothing, nothing, nothing to do with Santo’s surge or anything like that.

oh please this contraception controversy isn’t gonna help the GOP at all in the 2012 general election, in fact it will probably hurt. Many single women are independent voters and don’t want sexless creepy old men in robes trying to keep contraception from them, they’ll run to Obama and he will win.

This entire premise relies on:

You truly believe that Santorum is going to be worse than Obama on the economy or curtailing personal freedoms? Sorry but sounds pretty paranoid to me. Your worst possible irrational fears would have to become true (with the help of congress and the courts) for Santorun to be worse than Obama.

I do believe that for the most part, Santorum’s economic policy would be better than Obama’s. And I guess I’m a right-wing nut on economic issues, but it wouldn’t be as good as I would like in a GOP candidate. I would rather see if we couldn’t get a more free enterprise candidate in 2016 than Santorum now.

Also, I am a gay man. I’m absolutely not voting for someone who espouses views like Santorum. It’s just basically me having self-respect. There are elections in 2014 and 2016. There is no valid reason for any gay person to vote for the most homophobic politician who has a national stage.

In honesty, it’s neither free enterprise nor my sexual orientation that ultimately motivates me against Santorum. I am an environmentalist and I know that is not popular with the GOP now. It should be. I just don’t see anything good coming out of rapidly increasing human population as Santorum would like to see. I’m aware that more than 2 in 3 people reading this will disagree with me, but I hope to appeal to the remainder when I suggest you vote for Obama, and hope for something better out of the GOP in 2016.

Not sure who ‘Frothy’ is, but this social conservative (who clings non-bitterly to Jesus and guns) isn’t making predictions about who can beat Obama in November. My best guess is that Santorum has the best shot, but that’s based on polls and Santorum’s immunity to the “evil rich guy” rhetoric that the Socialist-in-Chief will be spewing.

It’s also funny that Obama can’t attack Santorum on gay marriage because [cough, cough] Obama is *also* opposed to it. As are most voters.
