“DREAMers” promise action against Rubio at CPAC

posted at 3:05 pm on February 8, 2012 by Jazz Shaw

Allahpundit already tipped off the masses to news that Occupy DC and their related squatter ilk were planning on causing trouble at CPAC this week. No surprise there, as they’re bound to show up anywhere they think they can attract some cameras. But a friendly little bird whispered in my e-mail inbox today sending me a notification of another group which he claims is looking for some trouble specific to the appearance by Florida Senator Marco Rubio. I’ll get to what we know about the participants in a minute, but here is the “official” version of a press release they are putting out.

MEDIA ADVISORY: DREAMers to Protest Sen. Marco Rubio, Exposing His Ties to Anti-Immigrant, Anti-Latino Groups attending Conservative Political Action Conference 2012

DREAMers to Sen. Marco Rubio: Stop Your Rhetoric, Co-Sponsor the Dream Act Now!

Washington D.C. – On Thursday, February 9, 2012, DREAM Act students and supporters will host a press conference and protest at the 2012 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) demanding that Senator Marco Rubio shift his anti-immigrant positions and drop his extremist Tea Party partisanship. Local supporters of the NO SOMOS RUBIOS (We are not Marco Rubios!) campaign will be on hand to expose the Tea Party favorite and ask, “Who is the real Marco Rubio?”. The NO SOMOS RUBIOS campaign launched in January at the conservative Hispanic Leadership Network’s 2012 Conference in Miami, Florida.

Marco Rubio has been hailed as a potential vice presidential nominee. In his January 27 remarks to the Hispanic Leadership Network conference, Rubio said “[T]here is broad support in America for the notion that for those children that were brought here at a very young age, by their parents, through no fault of their own, who have grown up here their entire lives, and now want to serve in the military or are high academic achievers and want to go to school and contribute to America’s future, I think there is broad bipartisan support for the notion that we should somehow figure out a way to accommodate them.”

DREAM Act students will demand that Senator Rubio define where he really stands once and for all: with DREAM Act students and Latino immigrants, or with the Tea Party.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with anyone calling a press conference, or protesting to express their opinions on public property for that matter, provided they follow all applicable regulations, permit requirements, etc. But our friend seems to feel that these folks may be up to a bit more than that and won’t be satisfied with a simple thirty second slot on the evening news. Given the rumors we’ve already seen about plans for disruptive “civil disobedience” which may lead some of them to wish to be arrested, don’t be at all surprised if this group finds themselves teaming up with the Occupier forces.

Here’s who is listed in this group:

United We Dream
Presente Action
and…
DREAM Act Students, who I can’t find a home base for, but do show up in the news.

A request for additional contact information and comment was not returned in time for publication of this article.

Things will probably turn out for the best, and I’ve no doubt but that the stalwart CPAC attendees can handle themselves just fine. But there is a growing sense that some of these people aren’t going to be satisfied with just throwing glitter bombs. With someone as high profile as Rubio showing up, it might be a good idea to keep an extra careful eye on security procedures. Forewarned is forearmed.

All the “I’m special and politicians should fawn at my feet” groups bellyache about how they’re not accepted by mainstream America. Surprise, surpise, when you want to be pandered to and coddled the rest of the country isn’t likely to see that as a good thing. darwin on February 8, 2012 at 3:26 PM

Glad they have photos. Maybe one day we will uphold the law of the land. The Dream act is only to give benefits to illegals

What we need is a Dream act sting. When illegals come in to pick up food stamps, cheese, college grants, we put them on a bus home, and charge them for transport. For every employer they turn in, we give them a thousand US dollars as a going away present

Matter of fact, I would make working as a company buster for the feds a legal job for illegal aliens. They could go apply at a meat packing plant, wearing wires, and we could arrest every U.S. citizen breaking our nation’s federal laws. A bounty for every boss busted

Why do I think the GOP and DEM elites would not like this?

When I hear the hypocrites in Congress talking jobs, I think how these skunks have protected the illegal alien job market

IF any person commits an act of violence against any of the attendees at CPAC I would expect that person to not only be arrested, but spend a significant period of time in jail/prison for assault and battery. I would also hope that if it can be established that these protest groups planned or encouraged such an act of violence before hand, that the entire group be brought up on charges and held accountable. I also think its a mistake to tolerate these ‘glitter bombings’ without charges of assault, since this is exactly what leads to escalation from throwing glitter to more violent assaults.

I wasn’t aware that Peter Brimelow and vdare.com were ‘white nationalist’. Since you are obviously ignorant of the content of that site, I’ll explain it to you. VDare is a paleo conservative anti immigration foundation. That’s both legal and illegal. The articles are probably the most honest and intellectual work the right has to offer. They are not bound by the dogmatic chains of political correctness. Many of the writers are former National Review contributors who were purged by Buckley in the 90s because they wouldn’t play the left’s game of being a groveling apologetic pathetic white guilt ninnie. They understand (as does the radical left like yourself) that massive unrestrained third world immigration will destroy American culture and the Republican party in a very short period of time. That’s why the left must use words to associate the with Nazis to discredit them. They speak too much truth and are too honest for the left (and neocon right) to legitimately debate their logical warnings and conclusions.

How timely. My formerly liberal husband who has been working out of state just called to tell me he had been “escorted off the job site” so he’ll be coming home. This is not a mean man, nor a bully of any sort. His infraction? He and some of his crew were given “safety sheets” to fill out, that were in Spanish, totally. When they asked wtf? Were told they had run out of the English ones. So, since they couldn’t read them, they wrote whatever they felt on them. My other half wrote, “This is America, I expect things like this in English”. For that horrible act of discrimination, he was removed by security. The happy ending is, he’s coming home after 6 months, and, better yet, it was the straw that broke his liberal back. Well this metamorphisis has been coming on for a while as he has not had a “union” job in over 4 years, and watched his friends lose their homes and the union not step in to help one bit. those children that were brought here at a very young age, by their parents, through no fault of their own,

So very young illegal aliens should get scholarships, paid for by American citizen taxpayers, using up precious college slots and displacing American citizens, and then after graduation get a job?

Oh, wait … after graduation they are still ILLEGAL and can’t get a LEGAL job.

Net result: a few hundred thousand educated but UNEMPLOYABLE foreign invaders, and a few hundred thousand more uneducated American citizens.

Sounds like a plan to me. DREAM on, you freakin’ idiots!

When you realize those ‘outraged’ by your antics were never liberal to begin with, but instead they’re just angry losers like you who think differently, I hope you aren’t too sad about how much time you wasted.

This sunk Perry in the debates when he defended the Texas Dream act, on camera, saying we had to educate these people so they could get jobs or they would end up on the dole. I am pretty sure he used the expression ‘on the dole’

Perry took it one even farther – illegals had to get college, so they could compete for jobs in his state, or they would be getting welfare in his state.

And Perry wanted to be the leader of the Free World

I lost trust in Perry as an honest man, not when he made the first debate declaration, but when he had a press conference to make sure no one missed what he said in the debate.

Anyone who pulls a double whammy is either throwing the election, or arrogant beyond belief, or too stupid to put in a position of power.

At this time, I consider the first option most likely. Throw the national, maybe because he was in there to siphon votes so one of the others would not rise, and use his Dream Act speech to gain points back in Texas

MEDIA ADVISORY: DREAMers to Protest Sen. Marco Rubio, Exposing His Ties to Anti-Immigrant, Anti-Latino Groups attending Conservative Political Action Conference 2012

At least one anti-immigrant site has been mentioned here. What wasn’t shown is how Rubio has any ties to it. Anyone care to elaborate? Can anyone name a second that he has ties to (note that the headline states this as a plural)?

And what about the reference to anti-latino groups? I’ve never even heard of an anti-latino group, let alone groups. If they exist, what are they, and how is Rubio tied to them?

Did no one think to ask these really simple questions of the DREAMers making the obvoiusly race-baiting statement above???
